Liked before watched.Nuff said.
Micro dark vs Meteor?
I'd be running joyos vintage od (ts9 copy) in front of it.
Did you use a tubescreamer with the zombie or just the amp?
7:16 "AULL THA GAYNE!!!!!"
J Thorsson lmao
These amps are incredible. 2 channels, effects loop, tube preamp and loud! And the have a Bluetooth receiver built in so you can run your music through them. They do pedals great too. Best mini amps on the market IMHO. Each amp name discloses what it is modeled after: JaCkMan (Marshall JCM), MeteOR (Orange), AtomiC (AC 30), BlueJay (Blues Junior), VIVO (5150), ZoMBie (Mesa Boogie).
thank you
VIVO=5150 in roman numerals
How the hell did I miss that one?
It took me a while too ;)
With one exception - latin numerals don't contain zero :P
ↁCL = 5150
John Herz actually DCL=650, the correct one should be VCL but it doesn't look anything like 5150 ;)
Thanks Colin for doing this, it was lot of fun! These amps are amazing!
Last time I was this early, Colin was still trying to make it shred
So: Atomic = Vox AC, Blue Jay = Fender Blues Junior, Zombie = Mesa Boogie (Dual Rectifier?), Meteor = Orange (Micro Terror?) and VIVO = Peavey 5150.
Right?
There is also a Jackman. This is voiced after a jcm.
I think you just sold me on the Joyo Zombie
Now the only thing I need to do is get a job
Bought the Zombie after seeing Olas video. It comes next week.
Another great vid, Colin. Always valuable content, no redundant talking, just a short intro, just the right amount of playing and a final conclusion. That's what I like! No time to listen to a ton of bullshit, just hear the sounds close enough to each other and make an opinion. Rock on!
I think in 20 years from now, amps will be so small you will loose them like guitar picks.
I think soon enough they will all become software we just plug into a cell phone and wireless to the house speakers. Or maybe even in a setting where anyone can tune into your channel live in the phone with some ear bugs?
Mooer baby bomb
Ya software, i won't mind not carrying my marshalls.. around...
I've got the Zombie... it's my "weighs a tenth of my mesa and still sounds badass" practice amp.
Man that high gain sound is really awesome.
Fun little review - thanks for that. I actually own the BlueJay and love it as a clean pedal platform amp. They are such good value I actually use it with an ABY pedal to compliment my Marshall 15W. Great sounds.
The VIVO gets all my endorsement, it's an absolute monster on it's own, and even better with a Vintage Overdrive in front of it
8:56 for a high-gain sound on the Vivo. Something I've been looking for in a video for a long time
Excellent video, I was surprised, for the size how good they sound. Thank you Collin.
You guys look so stoked to be playing with those toys! I really liked the sound on the one you were calling the "mb"
100% gigable amps, just got back from a blues fest where my wife used the BlueJay in to a 1 x 12 Jensen cab in a 4 piece setup (Drums, Bass, Hammond & Guitar) and it was killer. The trick with the BJ is dime all the settings, use the bright channel with humbuckers, and the normal with single coils. The big advantage with these amps is they are easy to travel with for fly in fly out fests, with the cab, the whole rig is 11KG (24lb). Also great pedal slave
Thx Colin!!! I deffenetly gonna check Vladimir`s channel. Cool vid :D
While you were doing the Zombie demo, you made your 'all the gain, no mids' face. I'm definitely sold on the Zombie or the VIVO.
Because they're so cheap you could get both! I think I'll get the VIVO, sounds a lot more NWOBHM
Definitely digging the tone from the zombie! That is an awesome crunch!
The first amp's gain sounds like a Boss DS-1
No jackman(red one)! Thats why i clicked.
It was being used in another room at the time we did this video.
We got all the ones we could at the time we had a slot booked.
No problem. Love the channel man. Got a micro dark and dragonhearts on your suggestion. Keep upbthe good work
I was looking for the Jackman too. Might get it a s a back up practice amp. Had never seen the vivo though so that is cool
Man, I wish those things were around when I first started playing. The typical Line6/Marshall/Crate combo amps in the similar price range are complete dogshit compared to these little guys.
The only thing that's putting me off buying the ZoMBie is that it doesn't have a pedal to switch channels. : (
At $150... Can't ya buy two and use an A/B switch?
ThePacerX, I'd buy a ZoMBie to simplify things, not to complicate them. I'd rather keep using what I have now instead of buying two amps and a switch just to have a clean and a lead channel. Besides, the two Joyos and the switch would cost more than my Bugera 6262 Infinium cost 6 years ago.
@@Module79L just crank the gain and set your volume knob very low. Problem solved? ;^)
@@versnellingspookie - How does that solve the problem of the manual switching between clean and distortion channels?
Thank you Mr. Collin from Scotland!
These little amps are awesome. I have the Meteor myself and it is rad!
I clicked because I loved the way Colin's guitar looked and needing to know what it was. Liked and commented after finding out it was a Schecter Apocalypse guitar.
2:52 - Did Colin call his guitar "this shitter"? XD
This is actually a really good set of amp heads for many uses which a band would not need all of them rather, this is a better set for a home recording studio because they deliver good sound, cheap, and take up very small room.
I think the VIVO is suppose to be a 5150 based on the website.
I just bought a Blackstar ID260 TVP combo 2X12 amp, and now I want a couple of these little buggers. Im thinking a easy to move little amp to play while on vacations that really doesn't sacrifice too much tone and maybe get a little 2 X 12 cabinet. I also seen the Joyo amp head for $499.99US on ebay and the review on that valve head as well. It really rocked.
The way I'd describe these (I have not tried any of them) as Orange Micro Darks with a few bonus features and made to sound like various different amps
You also forgot to add that they are slightly lower quality (nothing you would notice until you drop the amp from a high spot)
Thanks Colin
Loving it @ 5:25 & OMG BADAZZ @ 9:21
🤘🏻
Thanks.
I bought the Orange micro terror-,superb,the micro dark-stunner with a loop.So it seemed I was starting a micro amp collection both easily pushing air through my Single Greenback cab. Then the zoMBie arrived!Insanely good, well featured amp, compared to my Oranges. The Joyo is my metal amp,it roars. So time to get an old favourite reinstated,a lovely big solid state Orange CR120!Oh hang on....a HOTONE Heart Attack....,5W,fits in the palm of my hand?Wonder if it's just a gimmick, claims of MB dual rec voicing!Well bugger me,it absolutely nails it,drives the Greenback hard,it's a real bloody amp!Now I'm mostly a home player these days, these 4 tiny heads do everything I need them to do.The little Joyos though, beautifully designed and powerful.Stil after a 120 though.Great review/demo guys.Thanks.
If I didn't already have 3 guitar amp systems, these would be a helluva lot of fun to have in your rig!
no red one??
Perfect little backup amplifiers that you can just strap onto your pedal board.
Sheezus! That Zombie is freaking sick! I liked it better than I usually like MB amps.
7:16 AULL THA GAYNE!!!!!!!!
6:56 The face we all make when we try a piece of gear we enjoy
I'm here for the gain, all of it! And for a new Colins Sexy Guitars Tshirt....
I'm working on it.
Nice demo Colin. Saw you in the guitcon stuff and had to sub. great job
I just bought an orange mikro dark, now I have to buy these
Whoa! Accidentally had captions on, hilarious!
Holy Crap! That's absolute gold. If I ever buy one, I'm gonna rebrand it Joyeux.
The zombie sounds amazing. You can play it through a 4x12 ?
I've been running mine thru my Crate 4x12 and it sounds great. When I run the clean channel with the digitech it sounds awesome . I've been hearing everywhere that a vintage tube screamer in front knocks it out of the park.
These are super tiny :D
Sounded great. I’ve heard a few demos already but wasn’t so convinced. I’m quite keen to try one out now! Never seen any Joyo over here though😞
Nice Job I'm digging that Zombie.
now the question is, which is better, The peavy piranha 6505 or the VIVO?
Hey Collin! Great video. You should totally do a review of the Joyo Zombie. Seems like it's really become quite the hit and I'd love to know your opinion on it
Wow, you guys are like brothers. Amps are cool, but I'd rather buy a modeling amp if I'm going small since then I don't need a pedal board and I don't care about tones since I'll only use it for practicing at my desk
These amps are fuggin killer!!!!!
some cool chugging there mate, cheers
Yea I got the meteor sounds expensive, love it,use the send bung it into a di to your daw(master vol down if cab connected or bung headphones in to load the power amp very important that dont blow the out chip)
killer clean sound then try rosen etc impulse cabs(use the meteor overdrive) and its pro sound right there ...enjoy
best di sound ive had.

Love the content 😎👍🎸
So cute! And I guess you can buy all of them and still bei in three figures.
I'd really like the blue one.
Aside from the Zombie, the differences in this line of amps is so subtle that it would make no sense to own more that one.
Thank you Colin for not being diplomatic about the amp types!
THX for this video Collin. These little amps are pretty cool sounding. It is great what you get for you money. They are absolutely no-brainers. Maybe I should change my Recto and my JCM800 against the Joyo Zombie and the Joyo Zombie 😄😄😄
riff.dude nahh stay with the real one and use the small ones for night use if you have neighbors
I wish you would have played the scheckter through the Atomic as well.
ALL THE GAIN!!!!
all the gain!!
SLAYEEEEEEEEER!!!!!
Whatever that white one is, Colin sounded excellent through it.
Can you do Helix and HeadRush review? Yes, there are lots of reviews out there already.
But I'm interested with your opinion on them. If you don't mind, of course.
Vivo is a copy of a Peavy 5150
Going back to a video you made some years back on the tone control, can you do another video based on some people's tone control only working at a minimum or max
should do a shootout between The Joyo Zombie vs The Boss Katana Mini but instead of using the speaker in the Katana use it as a head and use the same Cab for both I think it be cool to see if the Katana mini being about $70 cheaper(cad) and 13 watts less could hold up to the zombie
As of posting this video has 1 dislike from line 6
I love these. I have the zombie. I think for clean I'll get the white one too. 🤘
I had the JaCMan and put in a GrooveTube...it made one hell of a difference for the better! But, I'm looking at something with more tight, heavy distortion on it's own, but can also do heavy blues well...how would u compare the VIVO, MeteOR and ZoMBie for that?
Maybe this is just a nitpick and a detail that not many people will notice... But it sort of bothers me that the color temperature isn't consistent among the different camera angles. It seems like the middle one is about right, the right-side camera is a little too cool, and the left-side camera is a little too warm.
So Colin, I am confused...what kind of music would you describe for each of those little monsters?
Hey man! Love your stuff! This might be a little off topic, but.. if you can get a small amp like these or a Bugera G5 infinitum. All the guys reviewing these say they are loud as hell. Eaven with 412. Why would anyone buy a 120w amp with the same kind og tubes and everything? Is the sound in a homerecording gonna sound much more different?Chers!
Yes! The return of the annihilate all mids face colin!
well... at least they have only 1 tone control, so you won't be able to ALL BASS NO MIDS in the Joyo
Yes, you can. There's an effects loop just for that 10 band EQ for you to scoop every mid with..
Dang... These tiny things are 20W? I mean, I know that they're just amp heads (not combos), but they're still pretty small!
If I were to do some sort of sludge/doom stuff, would i want to get the Joyo Meteor or the Orange Micro Dark? I run a Nux OD through a Big Muff to get saturated fuzzy tones combined with OD clarity. Which amp would deliver my tone the best?
Vladimir played a riff by DDT (a russian band). Got cought!!!))))
What? Where? :D
Vladimir Halinen 4:26 - 5:20. The song is called Дорога, which means The Road. You didnt played it consciously, more likely jamming around that chord progression. Verse in the beginning on the clean channel, chorus in the end with OD))))))
ua-cam.com/video/mZNawLhdhqk/v-deo.html
Check it out)))
Haha yes you are absolutely right! There's a song I had to play at a church several years ago that had the same chord progression in the intro and I decided to play it like that. It has stuck with me for many years. Looks like I wasn't the only one doing it. :)
Will these amps be goid enough to rehearse with a very loud band?
Unfortunately you cant connect a footswitch.
I'd be curious to run the preamp of one of these through the power section of a larger amp via the effects loops (SEND from the Bantamp to the RETURN of the bigger amp). would it work?
Hey Colin, does the tone knob on these Joyos work like the micro dark? Clockwise for more bass and treble with less mids? Or do they just go 'brighter' as it you turn it up?
which one get me closest to a JCM 800 or AFD tone?
The Jackman, which was the only one we didn't have in this video because it was used elsewhere :/
Jackman
I wonder what running a guitar into a meteor and a zombie at the same time would sound like? Prolly still cheaper than a traditional setup.
Vivi is supposed to be 5150 in latin numbers
how about the red jackman?
7:56 congregation =)
Yep! It's a fun riff to play with low to medium gain and single coil guitars. :)
But where can you buy them? US retailers-- sweetwater, musician's friend, guitar center-- don't seem to have them. Do I have to use eBay or Amazon to get one?
Joseph Brandenburg Thomann.de
Thomann sell them and they deliver to the USA
Pretty sure I remember seeing them on Amazon.
I'm sure Reverb has a couple too.
+ Joseph Brandenburg - I contacted Joyo. Here's where they sent me: www.pitbullaudio.com
neat amps
Random question: anybody know which one of these can get a close Claudio Sanchez tone?
What happened to the Jackman which was a jcm Marshall amp
Do they have footswitches for the channels?
Hey everyone, the video doesn’t y try until the 6:50 time stamp
Can you do a video on switching between a clean and distorted tone while playing live or even home
Im getting the zombie
all the gain lol
got the zombie. it sounds massive with Seymour duncan invaders running through it
I've haired they're good too. ;)
That guitar es SEHK
