But i will say that Amrapali was the best movie she worked in .
She acted at her best.

She danced at her best.
Her costumes in that movie were really fantastic .
Nobody played Amrapali before her and nobody can even think of playing it today as gracefully as she did in that particular year .
I cannot even think of anybody else playing Amrapali in place of her .

My brother and I discovered her first in "Amrapali" ... our minds were blown at the grace, superb dancing skills and sheer personality, beauty. We started buying every one of her films at the old Atlantic Video in Richardson, TX. When we got to "The Jewel Thief" with Dev Anand we were overjoyed. Never, ever, tire of watching her.. Her dancing skills are the best we've seen, and her facial expressions are off the charts. Guess you can tell we love her so much, our ultimate favorite. She exudes the very joy of living from a one second glance at her face. How lucky are we all.

the biggest mystery of all in Bollywood - despite being from the deep South Vyjayanthimala did not have even the slightest accent at all in Hindi. Nobody has been able to comprehend or demystify this ...all the other southern actresses are giveaways as far as their accents are concerned like Hema M, Rekha etc etc etc
Some people have a natural flair for languages and correct diction.

When you come to think of it, raj saab gave sangam, dev anand gave jewel thief, dilip saab gave naya daur, ganga jamuna, madhumati.

And to think that she left a mark of her own in all those movies! Sangam's radha is famously called raj saab's idea of beauty. Jewel thief's "hotho me aisi baat"'s choreography. Dilip saab's belief in her talent that he asked a south indian to play a awadhi village girl..or balraj chopra asking her to play punjabi villager, or THE GREAT BIMAL ROY asking her to play a mountaineer village. And she nailed it!!
Before brando refused oscar, it was our own Vyajantimala ji who stood for herself when ahe refused award fordevdas. And that was still the begining of her career!!

Vyjayantimala in her young age she was very beutyfull and talented Actress, and due to belongs from South, she is a very good dancer also, she worked alongwith so many Legend Actors but she had worked with Dilip Saheb in so many blockbuster movies. She was so impressed to work with Dilip Saheb even Raj kapoor ji also but how she had marry with Doctor Bali its wonder and unable to digest since Dr. Bali who was already married and he was the father of three kids also. I really enjoy Tabassum Talkies. I usually watch them in my afternoons. Just wanted to say that the movie is not pronounced as "Va-za-kai". Vaazhkai, (meaning life) the "zha" sound that's prevalant in South Indian languages.
