  • What an amazing 3D Heli Flight!!! :DDD
Flying extreme 3D heli aerobatics is hard enough already... but doing so while flying to a synchronized, pre-trained, aeromusical routine is GODLIKE. Mirko is definitely the reference pilot for that, though! He always prepares very special 3D heli musical flight demos and it truly is a show not to be missed!
Mirko really did bring his show to the limit, to the point he 'slightly smashed' the heli on the second flight (for the added hype and delight of the public) and yet he kept it under complete control and landed the heli pretty much intact despite the ground impact. Insane skills! :D
It is a real luxury to be able to enjoy so many world top-class pilots in a single place for an entire weekend, and that's thanks to the 'Furtivos Team RC' who keep organizing this excellent Funfly event every year! ^^
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After two years of cancelled events, the craziest Funfly is back!
3D Furtivos 2022 took place last weekend at ARC Sant Cugat near Barcelona (Catalonia) and boy, did we have a hell of a fun time getting all back together to enjoy some of the most savage flights by some of the world's best 3D heli pilots!!
3D Furtivos 2022 also marks the 10th anniversary of this international R/C heli meet event organized by 'Furtivos Team RC' and the 40th anniversary of the ARC Sant Cugat model aircraft Club.
We had plenty of extreme flying by truly amazing pilots, including the italian Mirko Cesena and french Dunkan Bossion. They really got to leave the crowds breathless after so much screaming in awe at unbelievable maneuvers that require the utmost skill and nerves of steel. Plenty of spectacular crashes as well, they are part of the hobby for the better or the worse, but always fun to watch afterwards (as long as no one gets hurt, that is).
Keep tuned, there's muuuuuch more to come! :D
    Enjoy!

To an extent... there is a risk, sure, you can kill yourself with such a model helicopter. Of course, we are talking about some of the best pilots in the world and statistically, there have been very few accidents over the years. Since I got into the hobby I've only heard about one guy getting himself killed with an RC heli. One should not lose the respect for these machines and treat them with due care and caution. There are security measures in place in the event anyway, there is a protection fence for the public and only a few people are allowed to enter the flight area, namely, the pilots, people helping them and sometimes the camera guys.

@@Airguardian For sure, this guy is a super pilot, but shit happens, as seen at the very end of the video (luckily without crash). At my former club some years ago, I was afraid to see such a top level pilot flying 90 class heli at night and doing inverted funnels passing very close of him and friends standing at his side...

@alain alainrac One funny thing to consider though, is that it often may be 'safer' to have the heli very close to the ground, because if something goes wrong and you immediately hit throttle cut, the thing will usually plummet to the ground rather quickly, whereas some flying taking place presumably further away at a higher altitude could have more chances of falling on you. One way or another, these are amazing but dangerous things, and as long as the pilot and everyone around is conscious of it, then it is fine in my mind. Living is taking risks. We probably have a much higher risk of having a severe accident while traveling by car than by a model helicopter. So it's just a balance of what you feel comfortable with, and making a conscious effort of not putting others in danger either. I have seen much more dangerous situations out of bad pilots flying a gas high wing trainer than world-class heli pilots flying extreme 3D routines. 😂😂😂
