I think for fifty years later, she looks very good! Still pretty and the voice...
60s music is THEE BEST!!!!! It's too bad this beautiful song doesn't get more airtime 😢. It's a classic.
I saw them in 1969 . I was 13. This song still makes me cry.
I DID IN 1969. AT A FESTIVAL IN EASTERN WASHINGTON, THE SAME WEEKEND AS WOODSTOCK:
I learned to respect Gods gift of flight to His creation.
I’m a forever fan of its beautiful day. Song for the first time in San Francisco 1970. Rest in peace, David.❤✌️☮️
Had no idea they still performed. Almost 50 years later, it remains both relevant and gorgeous.
It’s been 50 years now.
We all get older and it shows. But the sound and lyrics are as beautiful as it was when I listened to it decades ago.
I’m so glad they’re alive and still playing this. They even look like my wife and me now! 😹❤️
Us too 😅
I was a bartender at the Black Pearl in Park City, Utah. Jody B brought these guys in at least once a year to preform. It was awesome!!!
White Bird is a memorable song for me. This song is proof that the some beautiful songs and lyrics are borne from lean times.
My brother's name is David Laflamme too ! He's a cardiologist here in Quebec! Good music!
This group was one of my most favorite as a teen to this day. An incredible influence for me.
I was informed of these folks, in 1980's and enjoyed it, I even purchased a album
Great talent! A favorite song and group!
Damn! They still got it! I loved this song as a kid
A Great Concert after all these Years !!!!!!!!!!!!
They still got it! Just as sweet as the day I first heard it way back in the 70's... So grateful I was allowed to film them at the last minute this past Sunday at Hoberg's Resort on Cobb Mtn, just north of my 2nd home in Clear Lake.
This is amazing, I was at a concert they did at Tanglewood in Lenox, Ma. in 1970, I believe it was them, Jethro Tull and The Who that day. It was the first electric violin I saw and was astounded by it.
Yes, it was - they were so timely and are even now, decades later.
I ordered a cd off a web sight. After a couple of months I contacted the web sight bitching up a storm about not receiving my cd. In a few weeks I received a cd autographed by both David & Linda. I had no idea I was dealing directly with them. It taught me a valuable lesson not to assume the worst in situations.
They were probably on the road when you ordered...
Love this song.
Always loved this band
To live in the time this was released was a real blessing✌️
Definitely a part of Music History.
Timeless........
They sound really good so many years later.
Wow, Linda still is beautiful as ever, David's violin is gorgeous and the back up band is excellently melodic too! Loved filming them at Hoberg's Resort on Cobb Mtn as part of the Summer of Love concert on 8/17/14.
+AnasaziCliffs99 For those of you who do not know, the Hobergs Resort, on Cobb Mtn where I filmed this, has been decimated by the Valley Fire. I just saw the ashes today. Photos on my Facebook page. Tina Lewis
Thanks for posting this. I like this song and "Bombay Calling" pretty much. I presume they did not play that.
@@heinzpo David only allowed me to post 2 songs from that concert. The other was the instrumental "Santa Cruz".
you're way prettier on this channel
Wow this is incredible!! She really aged well their vocals are incredible love this song and all of them really
Always the virtuosos!
Seattle Pop Festival July 25, 26, 27 1969. Every bit as good as Woodstock and minus a few groups, yeah, but minus the rain, the mud, the traffic too. Three days and nights of nonstop music!
Been sometime I guess since Patti passed.LInda's voice is terrific.
thank you
Love this ❤ so nice meeting you today Linda!
Nicely done video, also last seen in the late 60’s , but their hit song had incredible staying power.
Saw David at a small club in Billings MT in about 78. Was mesmerized by the sound and his shining blonde hair.
They are still as fabulous as the first day I heard them sing. the violin hits me in the everyone. this song is timeless.
WOW they never stop Please never!
Such a nice vibe. Timeless song...
This is the best rendition of “White Bird”. They were spot on that day!
Indeed a Beautiful Day whenever I hear...WB, - 4 ever my "coming of age" Anthem of LOVE....Hot Summer Day, Bombay Calling, the LaFlamme's voices & violin...Memories in the Corners of My Mind! A Fan 4ever. Cheers from Chaz.
I have watched a movie which this song came out and called my attention, such deep inside song, really loved. I looked an old video of them and discovered it was from the 60th and I was wondering if they were still good and this video is simply amazing even though 4 years ago they singing with the same chemistry as it was in the 60th... amazing!!! and she is still beautiful on her old age!!! so luck to get to know this song!
This is amazing! They sound so great after these many years. I love this song.
Nice version, Just like fine wine, gets better with age . .
RIP Patti Santos, she was the original female singer on the studio recording who died in 1989
She had one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard and she never sang lead with It's a Beautiful Day; a great mystery to me that she didn't have more of a career.
I own all their albums but regret never having gotten to see them live, but I only heard them in Boston 1971 by which time they had disbanded. Luckily this video footage remains. As I've written on other channels, just some of the best songwriting ever by one of the most underappreciated Rock groups ever. They made some incredibly, hauntingly beautiful music.
Actually the band is still working, just with a few different members. They reside in Marin County in Northern CA. This was filmed the summer before this venue was destroyed by the Valley Fire in Lake County.
@@AnasaziCliffs99 Many thanks.
So glad to see that they're still performing. :-)
Una de las más bellas canciones de los 60 ☮👍😍✌️
I remember 1974 the first time "experiencing" their original. It was 70-75°degrees, sunny, blue skies, friends, party....thankyou for this trip,,,,,back.....🌈 thankyou for sharing💕
Wow...THAT really made my day to a beuatiful one. Thx La Flamme and Co.. You still rule....and what a great pity that this beautiful resort were destroyed by the Valley fire...
Love the unique Northern California harmonies, beautiful violin, driving bass and hippie lyrics! 🌹
Too good!
I just listened to It's a Beautiful Day's debut in San Fran on April 9, !!!!!!!!!!!! 1968, and here it is April 9th 2016 Linda just great.
Definitely my favorite song throughout the 70s. I had just listened to their Tanglewood concert. You Tube is a treasure.
It's a soulmate s song .fly be Free !! White 🐦 bird and don't look back !
i strongly believe that KNIGHT RIDER made this song famous in the 80s!
Keeping your love alive !
Thank you for bringing me a part of my best times back
oh this is such a beautiful version! Like good wine, they just get better with age ;)
Still as majestic as ever.
Must have seen them a dozen times
Its a Beautiful Day first did this in 1969 from their debut LP
47 years and still doing it eh? Pretty damn good too! What a fantastic hippie song. I have this on vinyl on an LP called Heavy Sounds from 196-something. I might just get it out!
Sounding as great as ever!
Great Stuff... Linda certainly ain't lost it!
Happy 75th Birthday David
nice arrangement
outstanding after all these years....you all sound fabulous.....my favorite group and favorite songs. :)
Beautiful.
Some birds are just not meant to be kept in cages ! Few are brave enough to break free and fly away !! And flee !!! And one of them was White 🐦 bird .
Wow Perfect!!!!!!!
They are as they were in Austin, many moons ago.
R.I.P.
I had no idea, thanks for letting us know.
tonight in Sebastapol Ca.forNew Years Eve.Wish I could make it .Saw them1st live in 68 San Francisco and 69'Lake Amador Ca.Gold Rush Rock Festival,3 crazy days and nights while holding my draft notice in my back pocket,crap..Boy did I let my hair down that weekend.!!
James, I first and only time was at the Atlanta festival in 70 71 one of them years, we had been trippn all day in the hot sun with about two hundred thousand other space cadets. it got late late, dark , cooler, then here comes Jimmy Hendrix. he drives us crazy, an after, everyone is stunned and tired, then this beautiful, trippn group comes on at about three am, most crashed, but us who didn't, just flew into the night, and I have never been the same. I think this group is why I am like the way I am, god bless you, beautiful day
figures im in illinois she sounds very good
really nice
♥️
For those of you who don't know, this venue Hoberg's Resort was completely decimated in the Valley Fire on Cobb Mtn on 9/12/15. If you Like my Facebook page: Spotlight On Productions, you can follow my videos and events.
You rock!
LOVE
Beautiful Linda and Amazing David !! Timeless song!Where are they now?
Living in Marin County, CA I believe.
Dammit was it really 45 years since they recorded it? And Pattie (sadly) no longer around for the vocals
Outstanding filming Anasazi. Nice to have the whole front of the stage to yourself, eh?
Thiscis not Linda his first wife its his second wife Linda also . First wife was keyboard player and cowriter on some songs
She got more beautiful with age.
She ain't no Pattie Santos. Still cool to see David out playing though. I saw them in Buffalo, NY a couple times.
It's such a damn shame that as far as I know, they only had one album. Think about performing "White Bird", "Bombay Calling", etc. endlessly for 45+ years. Nevertheless, beautiful, classic music of a beloved past era. Yes, I have had the vinyl in my LP collection since some time in the mid-1970s.
david you play well
one of the best
I love whitebird i know david is original is linda the other singer
How can i get a autograph from david and linda please. I am 71 and want to pass down to my grandson. I have cancer and i have been putting together for him when i am gone
I do not have direct contact with them, but maybe you can ask via their FB account. I believe they are still gigging occasionally in N California near where they live.
David looks lime HC of Las Vegas Raiders, Jon Gruden
Very creditable performance of a great song. Some of the backing vocals are off key, but a very nice arrangement. 😊
In my opinion … their best album was … “ Marrying Maiden “ …. Time to roll a “ FATTY “ and put on some vinyl …✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿😮💨😮💨😮💨
They sure lowered it an octave, or two? 🙂
Those were the original artists?
David Laflamme is original. The female vocalist passed so his wife Linda became the vocalist. I'm not sure about the rest.
I love that song!
David LaFlamme, the violinist and vocalist is an original member. The original drummer Val Fuentes is probably playing here, I can't tell for sure. The others are not original members. David's wife Linda LaFlamme was the original keyboardist, they divorced, and David remarried. Pattie Santos was the original female lead singer; she died in 1989. The woman singing here goes by the name Linda Baker LaFlamme, and was David's wife at the time, probably still is. Overall, I like this performance a lot and will see what else I can find online.
white bird never gets black or any colour
white for ever !!
still in the cage ?
A bit disappointed watching this. My favourite ever song, I first heard in the late 70's. His voice made it really emblematic. The female voice was part of it, and haunting. His voice was a solid identity of the song. But in this version she doesn't let him sing sing alone and her voice dominates. I would have liked to hear him singing...
Kokoro Amazing that after 40 some years they are still singing this song beautifully. Sometimes the microphone levels are to blame for the sound of singers. I noticed that Linda was backing off the microphone, as if she could hear how loud it was.
Still beautiful though..... Hope they sing it 40 more years! :-)
***** there were a few sound issues and they didn't like the mixes or their work on the other tunes, so this is the only one they allowed me to post of them singing. The Santana-like tune was approved because there were no vocals.
***** Can't disagree with that, whatever....
Sound just as good now as then, based on my LP. Wish they had gotten to keep all the money they made then-but I wish that for a lot of people.....
David chose whether to sing or not. He still runs the band.
The woman singing is not the original. The original femal voice was much better. Whiever this woman is must think that she is the main attraction with her gyrating around, which detracts from the otherwise great performance.
Linda is David's wife, who took over when the "original" died...
