This video made me brought back all the memories I have of a past long distance relationship... a girl that I traveled 8,000 miles from New York to Manila, 16 hours flying to meet her. All the sounds, everything brought me back all those memories. I miss you, Myra :(
OMG... I wonder, how even others r having the same thought process what I used to have while flying... Thanks Brightside team for explaining all these in detail... Keep rocking.
My favourite sound to hear on board a plane is that humming sound when you first board the plane. This is coming from the plane’s auxiliary power unit, or APU, which is a generator near the plane’s tail that provides power before the pilot starts up the engines. The APU also helps the engines start up by providing an electric jolt
BRIGHT SIDE you missed the most frequent asking sound .. the Hydraulic actuator .. that everybody ask about while pushing back (leaving the gate) As well engine reversal sound sound after touchdown
Well, Something was Gonna explode , It was like sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Like A Bomb But Has Not Exploded Yet, The pilot Exprienced Fatigue on Approach By yet we Arrived Early. And It was Just 2 Mins After Takeoff Yea, I Thought About It Being A Bomb, I asked my Mom, Mom What is that sound...She did not Now She told me to search SAFARI , And There was literally A Criminal Looking Guy That was literally Innocent Could Have been something Else And It was A cheap Airline, So It did not make noise But Literally, It was not A Engine, Or the intercon System They flight attendant Ignored it But Forgot About Giving Out Food While the pilot Experienced Fatigue Not Much is. Known About That Airasia Flight, Nobody Had died
A lot of this is inaccurate, procedure is different for each airline. The “dings” are not for passengers at any point and you missed the fact that a single ding is likely a passenger call, use the overhead lights; rear, mid, front to determine where call is from, tripple ding is not from flight deck and does not indicate turbulence. I appreciate the effort but please research in more detail.
7:13 you don't retract flaps and slats before landing you put them down. You retract flaps and slats after you take off because you need more lift during take-off and landing because of the slower speeds
My grandma lived RIGHT NEXT TO AN AIRPORT. I had no idea why we didn’t go to that airport instead of one that’s, like , 2 HOURS AWAY! Because when we were going back home, I felt so beat up!
I love flying! That feeling you get once the airplane lifts off is awesome! What I don't like is people clapping at the end of a flight. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever witnessed.
This focuses a lot on cabin chimes. Almost everybody knows it is normal. But you haven even mentioned the thuds when the bags are being loaded, you also didn't mention the famous "dog bark" generated by the PTUs, the metal contact between the tow truck and nose wheel during pushback, the silence when engines are about to start and air-conditioning system is temporarily shut down (some people are afraid of that too), the bass drop during engine start, the occasional metal clankings caused by the steering or braking and the engine grinding sound during take-off power. These are some of the actual noises that people are actually afraid of. Not the chimes that you kept repeating.
Don't forget the PTU ( Power Transfer Unit ) it sounds like a large dog barking or someone in the bottom using a hacksaw. It's used for equalizing the hydraulic pressure in the other system.
Turbulence is like ur sailing in the ocean in rough waves so it’s bumpy same with planes it’s just that the waves are replaced with air or think of it as ur driving ur car you might feel some bumps but there small but planes are bigger and faster like riding your bike when u go slow it’s not that much but when u start to speed up you can feel the bumps
Im not scared of flying but when its 1 weeks before i go on holiday i watch this video the remind me that im not gonna crash and im going to Gran Canaria for 1 weeks CRAZY! Im so excited!
im 14 and recently went on a plane for the first time. i saw a man and a woman go into the bathroom. i never knew that there was two restrooms inside that one door
@have no idea Ironically sitting closer to the window seats reduces your chances of dizziness as long as you don’t check the plane flying up and/or down through the air.
While taking off, you might feel that hickup Feeling. Thats Because of the G-force, which means that beacause of gravity, it's pushing you down in your. The reason because og that feeling is because prushes your organs down.
@@jejewa2763 the reason for the enginge changing Noice is because planes have a takeoff speed it can either be high or low. While the plane is climbing it either reduces or increases it's speed, thats the cause og the sound Change
We Greeks do our cross as we rise in the air but when landing we always clap when we land in Greece because we have reached our homeland , Thanking God we got there safe too. and of course , we are thanking our Pilots for a great landing
Why do bats only see at night? Hello BrightSide I am your biggest fan and also I have a lot of questions for you to answer! 😀 I can't choose what to ask 😅 You guys are the smartest UA-camrs in the planet and also good for children to know all of these ☺
Bats can see during the day. Because their diet is insects that come out at night, they evolved to successfully develop nighttime predatory habits, like using sonic waves to locate their prey in the dark. Over time, their eyes became weaker and less useful.
I usually hear loud combustion sound from the engine up there in the air, after archiving attitude . it usually sounds like the engine got exploded. This is my scariest sound that I normally here.
Well, now thare are some sounds from the cabin that you definitelly dont wanna hear. Like "GEAR NOT SAFE" on the landing or "OBSTACLE AHEAD" or "ENGINE FAULT", but the worst is probabpy "STALL STALL" or "SINKRATE", "BANGANGLE". But dont worry, with experienced pilots you wont hear that lol
To the dear old lady seated next to me on flight 87 last night: very sorry for the sounds, and smells which followed, throughout our 10 hour journey. I now know to eat kidney beans AFTER my flights. Lesson learnt 🙂
