What’s worse is that in British English Fanny (as in Fanny Pack) does not refer to the bottom but to a woman’s bits. So Fanny pack sounds very very rude in Britain.
the main difference is different people use different words for things in America based on their age, where they live & just general preferred terms whereas in the UK, generally everyone uses the same words for things
It’s called Real Estate because in Common Law there is Personal Property and Real Property. Real Property is basically land and buildings and Personal Property is everything else. So a Realtor or Real Estate Agent deals in Real Property. The Real in Real Estate is not related to real as in actual but to in rem (Latin for in the thing) in contrast to in personam for Personal Property. It’s to do with how you could sue at Common Law.

The difference with coriander and cilantro is that Brits call both the seed and the plant coriander.
NYer here. Coriander is cilantro here. They're interchangeable but cilantro is used more often in the States, I think.
the issue with this is america is big and there are different names for some of this stuff depending on region (as well as knowing whats slang vs an actual term) so alot of the ones you didn't agree with will just be from other parts of your massive country haha
I think you guys call the powdered cilantro seed coriander (spice) iirc??? We call it all coriander.
