Shuro&Laios' fight is so raw, but I'm also really thankful by how empathetic it is to Laios. Usually characters who are loud&passionate and accidentally annoy those around them are more often than not treated as comic relief and not much else. He's really humiliated&hurt to see that's how he comes across to someone he likes!

Despite all the hurtful things Toshiro said to Laios, I’m sure he actually does care about him to a certain extent. If not he wouldn’t have given Laios that bell and offered him a way to the East in case they would be put under arrest for using black magic.
Agree! I think we all have said things to people we care about in the heat of emotional moments! Still, I'm so sad for Laios for having to hear it. Words are like toothpaste, once they're out you can't just smoosh em back in like nothing happened

Such a lovely and kind hearted chicken lady, isn't she 🥰 Also that Laios-Shuro fight really hit home hard, I feel bad for Laios
I feel SO BAD for him😭
One thing that will always stick out to me in this episode is, that whatever happened, Chicken Falin never once attacked her people, she killed / hurt pretty much everyone else but Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi (and Shuro), but tbf neither of them were trying to attack her either (except for Laios almost), so it could've been just a defense mechanism on Falin's part, but I want to believe, that Falin didn't attack her party, because she didn't want to.
It's probably one of those things where she won't attack her party if there are other threats first, but her omnidirectional attack would have hit them if they didn't shield themselves.

This episode is pretty much the one where everyone clocked that Laios was autistic coded.

thank you for your lovely reaction! the liaos-shuro fight always gets me choked up too. it really hits home, and i especially feel liaos's english voice actor puts so much emotion into the lines and really drives that kind of hurt home. totally understand why it hit a tender spot - did for me too

yeah that shuro vs laios fight might seem funny for others but i kinda got emotional because it resonated with me as well, you get treated badly just for being you and you had wished people were just brave enough to be honest with you

There is a lot of interesting extra material from Manga's Extra chapters that aren't getting adapted. One thing explained in such a chapter is that "Shuro" isn't actually a name. Laois kept mishearing name "Toshiro", started him calling "Shuro" and now everyone on the island knows him only by this name
I mean that was technically explained last episode, all of his female retainers referred to him as Toshiro and were confused as to why Laios called him Shuro.
