    I remember the first time i tried a Suzuki GSX-R 250. It revved like a zillion-trillion rpms but when i looked at the speedo i was doing something like 70-80 km/h. Dog slow but a great soundtrack.

      Always more fun to drive a slow bike fast then driving a fast bike slow.

    it comes down to cylinder dimensions, as that pertains to flame front speed, average piston speed, and valve float.
    though, as a designer, i have to consider human ear sensitivities..
    or to say, the closer ( RPM x (# of cylinders for 2-stroke, or # of cylinders/2 for 4-stroke ) /60 ) gets to 1Khz the more abrasive the sound to other motorists;
    but there is a 400 hz sensitivity i like to stay below....i will design as high as 380 hz, and i don't like to have to go over that anymore...in fact, my concept sketch for Suzuki, is now a big bang.

    engines can rev through the 400 hz ear sensitivity, and it wont be so abrasive to other motorists for a little more of the rev range..
    but 400 hz still something i have committed to avoiding in my design work..
    the inverted, transverse. 120 degree V6 is probably something Suzuki will work GSX-R600 parts into;
    then a 900cc Big Bang Six....that's 13,480 ( approximate max rev limit ) x 1.5 / 60 = *337 hz* , where a 900cc 3-cylinder Could Not rev so high, and the V6 can be balanced integral to the crank.

    the r6 was not true, I once read an article, the article said it was a deliberate mistake by Yamaha

      @@troysandrelli4260 Had to look at the written text again. You're right, obviously. Wondered why I had had commented on the Demeaning revs, I could have focused on the power where it *"Pranced"* a mere 45 HP

      Honestly I love the use of pranced haha. I think it’s appropriate for evoking the idea of being “light” on the horsepower, and I think it’s a decent description of how this bike seems to ride.
