In the Kontakt Player on the upper right there's a 4 icon, from the left to the right - disk icon, gear icon, icon 3 and 4 is something like a box. Click ok the third icon - on the drop-down menu - click keyboard. You can show/hide a few other things in there too.
no bla-bla-bla but still a great tutorial tbh! expecially cause I use ableton too and I was like struggling where draw some automation, it helps me a lot!
TACT is articulation control, you can found it under the snapshot drop-down menu. It changes key switches order and some other functions. As an example, in shreddage 3 hydra, there is two TACT, by default palm mute controlled by velocity, but if we switch to TACT standard palm mute controlled by key not a velocity
Hi, basically it's the same with the other DAW, the strumming is using keyswitch in Kontakt, so the DAW should not an issue here. I made a basic strumming video for hydra, maybe it can help to understand how to create strumming using hydra ua-cam.com/video/O-_DegxnYM8/v-deo.html Cheers
I've been fucking around with this for a good hour or two. Nothing of it makes sense. Pressing F0 doesn't enable slide (in Jupiter), and I can't find any other way to enable it either.
When I add a slide, it takes away the velocity of everything. So I no longer hear my palm mutes, even if I start the track over again before the slide happens. Is there something I'm missing?
Basically yes, but there are a few differences between the TACT hydra (Hydra engine) and the other Shreddage 3 guitars. In Hydra, you can switch to mute using velocity and have an additional knob bite or pick I forget which one. The other things are the same
Does it happen to all or only some of the notes? If it happens to all notes maybe you need to check the TACT, and try to switch to different TACT. Basically, TACT is a key-switch preset and has a slightly different configuration from each other If it happens only with some notes, probably you need to adjust the fret position. Ex: If you want to slide D3 to G3, it won't work if the D play on open strings or the G play on open strings, or both the strings play on different strings. If this happens, try to move the fret position to a different fret position Hope this help, cheers !!
Hi, thanks for the video! But I work in 3.5 and I just can't make a slide from one note to another, it's driving me insane! I tried everything, different keyswitch notes, velocities for all notes, notes overlapping or not... Please help :)
Maybe you can try different hand positions, if the strings are sliding to open strings or to other strings it won't work, so the trick is to move the hand position to higher frets so the notes slide in the same strings. 3.5 or the previous version relatively the same, no big difference
@bitkaster Thank you! I'll try that tonight. Where did you learn that? They don't seem to explain it anywhere, video or user manual. I'll let you know, many thanks again!
I use guitar plugins like this since 2008, the operation is similar, once you know how this thing works you won't have a problem with other plugins. And one thing I forgot to mention, you need to overlap the notes to create a portamento/slides (C0 keyswitch). Good luck, cheers !!
@@bitkaster It works, THANK YOU! It's crazy that, if you want a successful slide, you need: 1. The right articulation Mute won't work, at least not the first note of the legato. 2. Overlapping notes 3. Both notes on the same string I understand the logic but a) Shreddage could prioritize the user intention, it's easier to remove an unwanted slide then trying to figure out what's wrong) and b) With a real guitar you can definitely slide a string until you hit a note on another string, so it is not so intuitive. Anyway :) 4. The right velocity and settings in the articulation Again, this is not intuitive and might benefit some more documentation. I am still hoping for the best with how fast my slides go :D All in all: THANK YOU for your expertise and for the time you took to answer me.
@@nixneato Hey! Thanks for your question and writing the answer here! I've been trying to find a solution for this (Shreddage 3.5 Hydra and FL Studio) for hours without luck. And what's worse, even your steps don't work for me. I'm having Sustain articulation, notes are overlapping, velocities are similar and >50, and notes are on the same string - and yet nothing, no glide for me! I'm using the Hydra 3.5 Smooth Butter Lead preset. Would you, or the OP, happen to have any suggestions? Thanks!
What version do you use? In the latest version, Impact Soundworks excluded the legato key switch from the default TACT. Try switch to Default TACT or key switch TACT, you can find this in the Kontakt snapshot menu, Snapshot - Factory - scroll to the bottom - TACT If the problem still exists, reinstall via pulse, sometimes reinstalling the libs solve some problems The last resort, of course, contact Impact Soundworks support
andrew aversa must be proud of you son !!!
let's goooo 800th subscriber!!
Very informative video! Is it possibile to create pick scrapes with Hydra? Thanks!
Yes, hydra has FX keyswitch, G-1 on default TACT keyswitch or B-1 on keyswitch TACT, you can customized the keyswitch if needed
Hey man nice video...but i dont have that keyboard displayed under the vst...can u help me?...how do i display it

Need more tutorials! Good job 🔥
Thanks! Will do!
any idea about the tuning? I know the knob lets u tune up and down but sucks there's not setting to just select a Drop tuning
Thank you! Very helpful!!!!
Oh it wasn't working for me because in fl studio, C0 and D0 are actually C2 and D2. But what do you mean by "Switch tact"?
TACT is articulation control, you can found it under the snapshot drop-down menu. It changes key switches order and some other functions. 8:23 ho do u mute notes? D0 does not work for me =(
Hey, check your TACT settings, each TACT has different keyswitch group
@@bitkaster thank you, the issue itself was within the time I played that note, I just move it to the right and it works now.
Great Video! Thanks a lot.

It’s C0
@@joly3771 In my Jupiter it says F0 for slide, but it turns out it's really F2. Had to just push all the buttons to figure out finally.

Never mind :) just had to turn "Latch" off :)
Hi, do have a instructional video on how to get shreddage working on cubase? I have been trying but no luck yet. :(
Shreddage is Kontakt library, you just need to add this lib to Kontakt. So make sure you have a working Kontakt player
Please can you make Stratus tutorial
The Shreddage engine works the same on each guitar, no?
Basically yes, but there are a few differences between the TACT hydra (Hydra engine) and the other Shreddage 3 guitars. In Hydra, you can switch to mute using velocity and have an additional knob bite or pick I forget which one. The other things are the same
Just can't get it to work. I did exactly what you did and it still just plays the notes independently. Maybe an Ableton problem?
Does it happen to all or only some of the notes?

I can't make slide with Hydra nor Rogue.
Yeah, I can't do it with Jupiter either.
Make pls style Mick Gordon (Doom Music) guitar on Hydra 🙏🙏🙏
