When I started learning guitar at age 9, my grandfather was so excited for me that he bought a 1448 for me. I was so happy and appreciated his gift so much. It was a pain for my teacher to show up for lessons and have to plug in my amp - he was a classically trained flamenco musician, and he didn't think much of my rig. I loved it though. But; It was a pig to play. The strings were so high above the fingerboard I could fit my English notebook in between. The intonation was awful. I didn't know what that was; just that I couldn't get it in tune or to sound right. It wasn't until later years when it was long gone that I learned that there was a way to adjust those problems. I had no idea. I don't remember what happened to the guitar. But the amp got taken out of the case and used to feed into the front of my Reverberocket to get some rock-n-roll distortion. It worked. It sounded horrible and was about 45% noise. But it worked. 🙂 It's nice to see that someone was able to get more natural use out of one than I did. Enjoy.
@@fredrikmoback146 Thanks for that. But there just wasn't anyone around at the time that would have known about it any more than I did. And, that difficulty aside, I still loved it. And I wasn't stopped from playing, nor moving up to a better guitar, and then better, and better. Even now, years later, I not only still play, but I build guitars and amps as part of my still strong love of music and guitars. 🙂
@@haytguugle8656 Am very glad to hear that, it’s heart warming. Me I just play them. Will soon get my first 1448 with amp in case, in very good condition. Just got me a Binson Echorec B1S, so happy days!
man, those sound so good, excellent playing!

@@haytguugle8656 Thanks! It's my favorite guitar :). If you still have the guitar and the amplifier I'm really interested :). Cheers.

Oh no. They're long gone dozens of years ago. Yet I have often wondered where the guitar and case ended up.
Am so sorry that noone helped you with intonation and adjustment of the height of the springs.
