I remember those, they sounded really good for what they are...great for camping and campers..

Ivan thank you for your videos on the 3 different models of Technics SB speaker series. I have always enjoyed taking things apart too. It is really interesting to look inside them. I have owned a pair of SB=F1's since 1978 and they are still going strong . One little point about that Reset button. It is for the thermal switch that can malfunction. It is possible to bypass this switch by soldering together, the two wires connected to it .
I have these speakers and they sound really good plus built to last .
I still own a pair of these speakers, which are solidly built and heavy.
Clearly modified, with nice details. I intend to do the same with mine

@@HF-7DXM-6DXW-12 seems a bit sketchy to me.. I don't think aluminium's resonance is any good for enclosures neither. Maybe they sound ok, but definitely not the best..
i don't think so. but if it will make you happy, then, it is fine.
i think that the "price tag" dont define actually, a good set of speakers. (logically in a range of quality/price). but i get your point.
i myself built and upgrade speakers and in my experience, any golden era of sound, keep a lot of "very efficient marketing".

They sound as good as a cheap pair of decent brand bookshelf speakers. I swap mine out often with a pair of AR8BX. The AR's are better.

may be a clean sound in a two way arrangement spearker, nice crossover an fine builted speaker and tweeter, but, for its resonance those speakers, might (only?) be nice in mids and highs, in the low level bass presets (not big deep bass).
metal or plastic are not a good materials for speakers (it is known...).
anyway, nice video and thanks for sharing.
these speakers are really really, small, but properlly upgraded can go as low as 36 Hz with great performance.... the problem with sealed boxes is that you need a lot of considerations such as seals, everithing should be properly sealed, and since they are 40+ years old serius restoration is needed to achieve that performance.... other problem is the fact that while they go really deep, the bass is not wall shaking, but you can put these monitors between 5 walls and they will sound "precise".... other problem is the internal pressure, they might not sound as loud, but this speakers are not meant for that in the first place
i had listen to a lot of bookshelfs, and ok, these are not speakers are profesional monitors, still the best bookshelfs i ever heard.... by far, there is just nothing like this, maybe genelec but still genelec uses powered only monitors and are ported so... is just not the same

they were used a lot in studios because of the medium frequemcies as the yamaha or JBL, regards
@@RUfromthe40s as with more experience, i find this technics only lacking in bass but with a +6dB with tone controls or using loudness, no subwoofer needed plus the mid range never gets muddy... really amazing speakers
@@crazymetallian I agree with you and i do use this speakers since they were new , there are better but this become afordable ,i don´t remenber the exact price but this were expensive speakers ,one could buy big boxes with 3 ways with less money and more powerfull not as perfect as this, maybe not perfect but higher quality ones, i do remenber one friend of mine in 93 having to buy the tweeters and both cost what todays is 450€ ,anyway at the time with this amount one could buy a lot more things than with todays prices, i can´t make the xchange to todays value of the money
