tbh, the biggest reason why you might not know a song that is extremely popular is because majority of anime fans knows anime music through popularity of the SHOW itself rather than the song itself. So even if a song was EXTREMELY good, it lacks the credibility of the show popularity to back it up.
If you need a good anime song that isn't from a Popular anime, might need a special request from discord mods or during stream to ask the veteran for some. (that MAYBE work)
cause for example, alot of fans dont like Mecha anime even if the song is freaking good, so the result is alot of mecha anime music dont get on people radar.

Full metal Alchemist vs Brotherhood: there's a ton of differences because the first anime finished long before the manga did, so instead of making people wait for the canonical ending, it stopped following the manga pretty early in. For reference....Hughes. That was about the last canonically accurate episode in the original. It was still a good anime, but not as cohesive and had a...less satisfying ending.

also, yeah, if you look at like... when anime as we know it today started really booming, and then look at how many anime either come out new or get a new installment each season, and just like... extrapolate? there's a LOT of anime. now, in terms of quality, they can vary widely, and some do get left in the dust for good reason, but this is also why I try to be very dedicated to my niche picks.
like... seinen is my preferred genre, but those rarely compete well with whatever the hot new shonen thing is at any given time, or whenever we get an isekai that grabs people. my philosophy is typically that two pieces of media can both be good, and you don't need to put one down in order to hype up another, but when a genre starts to monopolize all of the buzz that ever happens about anime in general... I dunno.
I guess I'm more saying that it's a breath of fresh air when something else breaks into the public's awareness. I'm excited about Vinland Saga for many many reasons, and I would be regardless of what anyone else thought, but it's extra exciting knowing that so many people are also paying attention to it. and when I have an actual hidden good thing that I really want to uphold, it makes me want to stick to my guns about it. not in a rude way, I hope... but if an unknown thing is gonna get attention, I can't be giving up on it.😅

The OG FMA anime becomes fully anime original after the sho tucker arc I wanna say. The origins and the purpose of all of the seven dealy sins are completely different. When OG FMA was airing, the manga was still ongoing. So, the author gave her blessing to just let the anime do its own thing. Because of that, it is one of the rare anime deviation that works because they had the time to build up story arcs and plot points. You even have a movie following the events of the OG FMA ending.

    • @neonseas
      @neonseas 10 місяців тому +6

I it's further along than Shou Tucker, because they still go to see Izumi and Hughes still dies in a phonebooth I would say that it deviates partway through the trip to see Izumi, because the flashback to the month on the island happens but then the kid shows up that is one of the sins(in the 2003 ver only) and everything changes from there.

Do you mean the Maes Hughes arc? In FMAB it ends around ep 12 or something, but it's like episode 25 in OG FMA. After that, they split. FMAB does the thing where Mustang and Lust have that fight in that white room, but it's a totally different direction in OG FMA. Definitely a lot slower pacing in FMA but there was stuff cut from FMBA. FMA has a much darker tone in my opinion. One of the earliest examples is the NIna/dog bit. That is two episodes long in the original. I watched the original first and I remember thinking they really toned down that bit in FMAB. Also Rose comes back in FMA, but it's not exactly a happy reunion.

I'm so glad you liked "Gospel of the Throttle" (Drifter's op)! It is by far one of my favourite anime shows. And I watched like 700. Not saying I'm good or anything, but the show is NUTS
It is harsh and brutal and is a nice take on isekai genre. And it has some historical figures. Although comedy is not the best part of the series, the show tries to pull it off quite often

you mentioned Mob Psycho 100? very briefly but. Mob Psycho 100?
sorry, it's just like... I have like, a short list of extreme favorites (Golden Kamuy, Dorohedoro, Vinland Saga, etc.) and Mob Psycho 100 is one of them. I'm showing it to a friend for the first time recently and I forgot just how insanely good it is. better than One Punch Man, in my opinion, and One Punch Man is already good. you at least need to have the opportunity to meet Reigen... he's such a good character, literally probably one of the funniest and most versatile characters that author has written.
also, yes, I would be SO interested to see you react to Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) at some point in the future, after you're through with Brotherhood. I think it would be well worth having the two to compare in the parts where they overlap, but that series also gets very different very quickly.

The story and characters are amazing however I do personally believe the animation has aged quite a bit. Its super popular in Japan and Latin America. Netflix licensed the original anime recently and gave it its first complete english dub.

Inuyasha is one of the goats from the Golden age of anime, and is actually one of the longest running isekai, if not the longest. It's also probably the most popular isekai featuring a female lead, and the setting is very interesting if you're curious about feudal Japan and Japanese folklore.
You also won't find many battle shounen that balances romance and action quite like Inuyasha.

There are a lot of differences in Full Metal Alchemist and Brotherhood. Since FMA was running concurrently with the manga, there were gaps between available source material, so it had a lot of "filler" episodes that are technically non-cannon. Unfortunately, during a longer gap, important plot points were effected, which eventually made the entire thing essentially become a spin-off. Meanwhile, Brotherhood is more directly translated.

The Vocals are quite amazing especially when it ties to the anime plot so well (if you do react to it, the song is a good way to understand the anime a bit if you read the lyrics) No spoilers but if you're wondering what the theme of the anime is, imagine if any fictional character that was created by us human, came to the real world.

I think Detective Conan’s openings and endings are really underrated. Detective Conan is like, super mega popular in Japan with over a thousand episodes (it has more episodes than One Piece, so the fan base is quite large), but unfortunately, there’s not many people who react to the openings and endings on UA-cam. I would really appreciate checking them out at least, because that would mean a lot to me.
However, there’s a lot of openings and endings, like over 50 or 60, so yeah... And there would probably be some copyright issues... But I really want to watch a good reaction to the openings at least, that’s all I’m hoping for.

So surprised to see Kokkoku on this list given how super underrated that anime is. I've recommended that Anime before on a video as well. But I'm often requesting/recommending underrated Anime, but that's just a hopeless hope I suppose, given how the votes will always overshadow underrated Anime. The Opening song is definitely worth reacting to!
You should maybe just make a new corner for "Underrated Anime" instead. Since there's a lot of underrated Anime that just doesn't get enough attention and if not for the Anime just the underrated Anime's Opening (or Ending) songs are definitely worth checking out.
World Trigger, Kokkoku, Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle, Aoi Sekai no Chuushin de, Tegami Bachi, Kakumeiki Valvrave, Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, Uchouten Kazoku, Nagi no Asukara, Hamatora, Baby Steps, Shingeki no Bahamut GENESIS, Yozakura Quartet, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, Fairy Gone, Cop Craft, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, Deca-Dence, Horimiya, Sabikui Bisco and a lot more...
There are also some other older Anime but not overly popular but not that much underrated either like Inuyasha, Ranma½, Rave (Rave Master), Elemental Gelade, Hayate no Gotoku!, Sket-Dance, Baccano!, Tenisu no Ouji-sama (The Prince of Tennis), Shakugan no Shana and some more...

yes, Full Metal Alchemist is also very good, even though a lot of the fans of the new adaptation say it's trash. I massively disagree. I think both versions are definitely worth watching, and I think you'll enjoy it as well as just a different interpretation of the story. But it has also a movie at the end that you have to watch as well. 3:45 *THAT*, my friend, is one of the most popular anime to ever air in Brazil. It actually matches up to Dragon Ball Z over here.
*Name is Saint Seiya, but here in Brazil it was called "Cavaleiros do Zodíaco", which would translate to "Knights of the Zodiac" in english.*
The brazilian version of the OP1, Pegasus Fantasy, was done by Angra, a brazilian rock band, and was actually REALLY GOOD!
The fights were epic, the tone was comic at times and yet had a lot of darker and bloodier stuff (though, we were kids so a lot of it went over our heads).
Me and a bunch of kids had the action figures, and you could remove the armor and put it back on, which was really cool because the show's power system was all about the badass armors the characters would don. It was super cool :D
Easily one of the best anime I watched in the 90s 😁😁

    SAINT SEIYAAAA!!!!!!!
God that brings back memories. Yeah it is old, but god I'll always love it. There are some old anime that have some really damn good openings, that's one of them
    Here it is - ua-cam.com/video/Bu533OKYHyc/v-deo.html
Also, here's arguably the best anime opening when it comes to old anime, although it was for an OVA, and played over a moving introduction (like you see with Mushoku Tensei) - Bubblegum Crisis op 1 - ua-cam.com/video/an_0IIRDlc4/v-deo.html
They're both proper 80's vibes when it comes to the music
Also, wow, I honestly really like this list. I obviously don't agree with it a lot, subjective music taste an all that. But it doesn't pick only the opening from new, popular, anime. Which is a nice change of pace. Did it a bit, but not much. I've always hated that in top 100 opening/ending lists, when they only list the music and visuals, based on the popularity of the anime
Warning about dr stone, it probably reaches in polls because it is popular as more of a collective "early anime" for newer watchers. But the show is extremely average. So good for a newer anime watcher, but not later down the line. If you're going to watch it, best do it now tbh
Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash (9:52) is really really good
It is an isekai, but one that came out before the more recent surge in them. It also takes on a more unique twist that not many do. The characters who get transported, are your normal, everyday, average, teenagers. Nothing special about them at all. But they're in a world where they need to make their livelihood through killing monsters, as soldiers (not adventurers). It's a much more grounded take on isekai. And before it aired in 2016, the last time this more unique form of isekai had appeared, was in 1999 with Now and There, Here and Then
    Here's the synopsis for Grimgar:
"Fear, survival, instinct. Thrown into a foreign land with nothing but hazy memories and the knowledge of their name, they can feel only these three emotions resonating deep within their souls. A group of strangers is given no other choice than to accept the only paying job in this game-like world-the role of a soldier in the Reserve Army-and eliminate anything that threatens the peace in their new world, Grimgar.
When all of the stronger candidates join together, those left behind must create a party together to survive: Manato, a charismatic leader and priest; Haruhiro, a nervous thief; Yume, a cheerful hunter; Shihoru, a shy mage; Moguzo, a kind warrior; and Ranta, a rowdy dark knight. Despite its resemblance to one, this is no game-there are no redos or respawns; it is kill or be killed.
It is now up to this ragtag group of unlikely fighters to survive together in a world where life and death are separated only by a fine line."
Also, yeah, the DRIFTERS opening, and anime, is absolutely awesome
There's probably around 10,000 anime total I reckon. I've watched like 1.5k anime in 20 years, and even then, I visibly know I've not seen the majority. Especially the further back you go. The only 70s anime I've seen is Lupin. Before that, nothing. And even 80s anime is lacking. Then, when you think about airing seasons as well (where I only watch between 1/4 and 1/3 usually) there's a lot most people will never see

Boa appeared with the Lain intro, so I HAVE to bring this up. They're a British band hailing from England including guitarist Steve Rodgers and singer Jasmine Rodgers, the children of Paul Rodgers famous from the bands Free and Bad Company most well known for the song 'All Right Now' a classic 70's rock hit. Boa's most famous album is 'Race of a Thousand Camels' to which the song 'Duvet' comes from. An alternative rock group with hints of funk. I still listen to this album as it has some amazing tracks such as 'Elephant' and 'Scoring'.
