65 saw these ladies at the MIS speedway when i was 17. Music at its best. Along with REO speedwagon,Bob Segar and Nazareth. I miss those days. 70s were by far the greatest music Era ❤
Gosh these women are just amazing. I was lucky to have a dad that liked good music. I remember when my dad brought this album home. I was about 9, he invited me to listen with him. So we both laid back, closed our eyes, our toes tapping to the beat…… when the album was over, we both sat up and just looked at each other and smiled……was special moment shared with my dad.
This is one of those songs that make you glad that you lived through this era and very sad that it has passed. No female group has ever come close to Heart's perfection in my eyes and although I love Nancy's performances Anne will always be the pinnacle of perfection for me
Ann and Nancy Wilson are like 2 sides of the same coin a PRICELESS solid GOLD .coin...you would probably find in an old sunken Spanish ship. ps.in other words one.hell of a.treasure
Every time I hear them sing this one it brings tears. I can't explain why. But it's always got to me. It's crazy because I'm 64. But it's still the one that does it.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. In one interview I saw on youtube, Ann Wilson said that of all their songs, this one was her favorite. It's a great work of art in my view -- vocally, musically, and lyrically.
I was cruising down the highway by myself and this song came on the radio. Haven't heard it in ages so I cranked it up and listened to an oldie. I had forgotten the harmony and was tranced by it. Wanted to make sure it was Nancy singing AND playing the acoustic....I was not disappointed. One of my favourite bands of the 70's.
A very beautiful performance of one of Heart's most beautiful songs. Ann Wilson on lead vocals, Nancy Wilson on backing vocals and acoustic guitar, and Howard Leese on the piano. Wow!!!
My Mother God rest her soul grew up being a Baptist Christian, but that woman loved this song. She begged me to d/ld it for her 20+ years ago and I never did. I regret it now, she passed away in 2010. Don't say Christians don't like rock music because alot of us do and I love this song too, Anna and Nancy Rule. High Five Heart. Love you Mom.
Such a beautiful song. It’s a longing, a trying, a never giving up even though you might not make it, you have to try. It’s a sad but uplifting song about life and love and following your dreams even if they don’t always work out. I can’t help but feel sad thinking of my son who died when he was little. He is soaring with the butterflies now, in heaven with Jesus. Dog and butterfly. One in heaven, one confined to earth. At least for now.
❤❤❤ANN'S EYES SAY SO MUCH. NANCY HAS SO MUCH PASSION IN HER PLAYING. SHE AND ANN ARE STONE PROS. THEY TRULY LOVE ONE ANOTHER BEYOND WHAT MOST SIBLINGS DO.
Yes, I saw her say that in a video here on youtube. This is her favorite Heart song, and one of my favorites too. I love lines like "Hearts rolling in, taken back on the tide/balanced together, ocean upon the sky". Real poetry!
Just beautiful! I cringe everytime I hear the judges on American Idol criticizing the girls for singing in the "dreaded low register". They should be criticized for not developing that register. Listen to how wonderful Ann sounds singing those low notes!
This looks like it's from '81 or'82. I absolutely LOVE Ann's eyes. I get lost in them every time I see them. I'm going to see them in March '15! Can't wait! I know they are much older now, but I don't care. See ya' there.
I'm an old fart and those are my girls. I've seen them in concert five times and they better all the time. If you like them you have to go and see them live.
@@joesycamore2899 Yeah, I was. The only reason my parents let me go was because I was going with my older sister and some older friends. I was upset a little while before that concert because they were also going to see Elton John. There was a full page ad in the newspaper for his concert. When I begged my parents to let me go to his concert, their excuse for not letting me go was because I couldn't pay for it! So for a few months I did chores and saved every penny. When Heart came to town, I had saved enough money to pay for admission myself - back then I think a general admission ticket cost around $5.00 or $6.00!!!
Is it just me who senses that Nancy could blast atomic at any moment, but has enormous will? I love these sisters so much. And now I have twin girls who look to be heading this direction: temperament, skills, team work. Almost afraid to play them the good stuff by Heart, but I got Dreamboat Annie today. Sooooo.......let the wild rumpus begin!
Everything about this is so beautiful. I am so happy I am able to see this is my lifetime. May God continue to richly bless the Wilson family. I was so fortunate to see them in Reno a few years ago. The shortest and by far the best concert I have seen. I hope you get to see them.
Forgive me, I'm not going to read the 105 comments posted. Having said that, this is my favorite all time song by Heart and one of my favorite all time songs period. To pull some of the words out of the song: 'for the life of me I don't know the reason why' the four classic rock stations I have to listen to (the CD player on 2006 Colorado hasn't worked in years and I don't know how to get my smart phone's tunes to play on it, or for that matter how to get tunes on my smart phone!) in the Hartford, CT area will play "Crazy on You"", "Barracuda", and "Magic Man" a dozen times a week...but never this one! Nothing wrong with those songs, but they might as well be by Journey or Bon Jovi as they're played just as much. I want my "Dog and Butterfly" on the radio, and while I"m wishin' and bitchin' give me "Who Will You Run To"; might have been after the makeover of Heart but it's still a damn good rockin' tune. Okay, enough ventin'. I got to take me Metamucil now!
Its the unique voice thing. Who could possibly sing like Ann? So they are damned if they try to imitate her, and damned if they try to make the song their own...they cant do it...lol..It's Anns song. About their dog when they were children, her and Nancy. Never gonna get that feeling from anyone trying to copy her or Nancy.
+The1EricStar Sometimes they need backing vocals to achieve something close to the results they get in the studio , layers of vocals she cannot do while singing one note . very normal . Nancy sings very well too . In this case is just Nancy singing backing vocals to her sister .
I think EricStar is referring to Nancys voice heard but video does not show her singing at 3:29. Maybe during editing a mismatched audio and video because the two at least used to be recorded separately
"The Concert for the Americas was a music festival held on August 20, 1982 in the Dominican Republic at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, a 5,000-seat, open-air Greek-style venue located approximately two hours east of Santo Domingo.[1] It was the amphitheater's inaugural event, with performers including Frank Sinatra with Buddy Rich, Heart, and Santana. Santana's set was cut short due to inclement weather.[1]"
It’s reiterated/rehearsed though left to improve over the top of the last recorded range....Sometimes Anne overly extends and then sis rounds out every edge to bring it back into possibility +
i know she is married and probably wouldnt care for my humor... i dont care,, that blue dress from the midnight show... schween! sexiest woman in rock... sorry anne. i m pretty sure you dont like that whole sexy thing.. you need 3 inches of light between your thighs..lol.. not.. still sexy
Ann Wilson's voice is unmatched. She IS the greatest female vocalist of my generation. ❤❤❤❤❤

That's just awesome
That almost made me tear up. What a beautiful memory
That's the universal language of music!! Great memories + music go together -- how wonderful!

I have loved them since I was a little kid, well I’m older now, and I finally got to see them in concert last year, it was awesome!
Nancy Wilson can play a yukalali like nobody's business.
Absolutely...and well said ❣️

Agreed But Bonnie Raitt is Right up there with them. Nothing butt respect for Heart ❤️
Great song, Great performance 🦋🐕
Ann’s voice still gives me goosebumps….. as does Nancy’s harmony vocals.
one of Hearts best performances!
Their voices really blend together very nicely.
Every time I hear them sing this one it brings tears. I can't explain why. But it's always got to me. It's crazy because I'm 64. But it's still the one that does it.
58 and it does the same, for the same reason.
I don't know exactly why, other than just time? But not all songs from back then do.
@@Thesaurcery4U2C same ..always has. not sure i want to know why now. i just except the tears and go on.....
The Melody and lyrics. You're not the only one😢
One of my all time favorite Heart songs, From the year 1978.
so much talent in these two,,,,they both sing, play guitar , play piano and write killer songs,,,,a true gift to all of us..
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life.

One of a kind talent, perfection.....no other adjectives are good enough to be in the presence of Heart.
I was lucky enough to see Heart in 1976 at the Summit in Houston, Texas. Just an unbelievable performance...flawless vocals.
They were the best sisters ever in my time. I’m 60

This song was a pleasant surprise I was dealing with my mother's pass due to cancer and IDK can't explain it but there was magic
Ann's got one of the best voices ever. So underated for her singing.
She really does have a terrific voice.
yea, she's pretty fantastic. so fly
Under rated? Not sure why people always say that because I have never herd anyone say anything other than they’re fantastic.

As far as I'm concerned, Ann had the best voice in the history of female rock Singers.❤

Absolutely beautiful song, one of the most moving songs ever, Thank you Ann and Nancy!
I am old enough to have seen them in K.C. in the 70's. It was awsome
Beautiful, once in a lifetime, two sisters come up and make music that millions love, glad I got to experience it
To me, Ann is the best singer in the history of rock. PERIOD!
I’ve seen Heart in concert 5 times and every time they sounded like the Album. I would have to say Ann Wilson is the best vocalist ever
This is Ann's most favorite song as well as mine.
Yes, I saw her say that in a video here on youtube. This is her favorite Heart song, and one of my favorites too. I love lines like "Hearts rolling in, taken back on the tide/balanced together, ocean upon the sky". Real poetry!
best singer i hear this all my life thank you Wilson sisters.
Most of the time men have it over women when it comes to
Rock -N- Roll,
Heart is the exception. ❤️
The Epitome of Beautiful Music
Two beautiful girls, two beautiful voices singing a beautiful song
Just beautiful! I cringe everytime I hear the judges on American Idol criticizing the girls for singing in the "dreaded low register". They should be criticized for not developing that register. Listen to how wonderful Ann sounds singing those low notes!
I saw a video on youtube, an interview of Ann Wilson, where she said her favorite Heart song is this one.
Ann has an incredible range, but I love when she goes into contralto range, as she does at some points here.
Ye who judges cannot do.
How stunning Annie is here!
I'm always hypnotized by her eyes
I have to admit, Heart is my favorite band. What can I say? I just love their music.
I can’t have a favorite. But Ann is an insane singer
God Bless those two sisters!💗
And YES ABSOLUTELY, both sisters have beautiful voices! And beautiful talent and beautiful looks 💝
Well that was five minutes of my life..... that was worth every second.
that you wished lasted eternally.............
This looks like it's from '81 or'82. I absolutely LOVE Ann's eyes. I get lost in them every time I see them. I'm going to see them in March '15! Can't wait! I know they are much older now, but I don't care. See ya' there.
this concert was from late summer 1982.
A pure goddess
I’d pay money for a voice like that
That voice is just incredible
This song gives me a feeling that reminds me of being 5 years old and lying on the floor listening to my mom’s album.😊
They love Led Zeppelin songs. Like we all do. This is their best tribute melody. Well done and classic now for the ages.
I'm an old fart and those are my girls. I've seen them in concert five times and they better all the time. If you like them you have to go and see them live.
they truly are the best. I've been lucky enough to see them. In my top 2.
Thank you for posting,.Just mindblowing gorgeous vocals and angels delivering them,.Woww
Damn! Heart was my first concert 40 years ago in 1977 at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. They still rock!

A song so beautiful that it's a perfect match for two truly beautiful women.
That's one of those Absolutely 💯Priceless its Beautiful!!!!!!
I remember watching this on
TV. 1982
Carlos Santana’s set was cut
short due to a rain storm.

Love the interplay between their voices.
true female rock stars, I would love to meet them, I'm sure I would be lost for words except I love you two.
Nancy. Had a crush on her since I was 10yrs of age. Now I'm 55and I still have that crush.
