    FAQ's
    ••••••••••
    • THE DOUX IS FORMULATED FOR ALL HAIR TYPES, STRAIGHT TO KINKY. Our products are color-safe and cruelty-free.
    • We cleansed our model's hair with ONE LOVE Co-Wash. ONE LOVE can also be used as a deep conditioner and used under a steamer if desired. Check out our channel and IG @ilovethedoux for more demos.
    • MOUSSE DEF can be applied to damp or dry hair. The less wet the hair, the stronger the hold and definition.
    • MOUSSE DEF is a styler, detangler, & leave-in conditioner in one! It is formulated to be used alone. We recommend styling with MOUSSE DEF by itself on your first go-round. Most people find that they don't need a leave-in when using this product. MOUSSE DEF alone yields longer-lasting hold and definition. If you would like more conditioning, recommend applying a small amount of WE WANT EASY Texture Tamer before applying the mousse.
    • For best results, avoid applying oil before applying the Mousse. If you prefer a softer, more moisturizing effect, MOUSSE DEF can be paired with C.R.E.A.M. Twist & Curl Cream or WE WANT EASY Texture Tamer.
    • If you desire more shine, apply oil or shine serum AFTER the product has dried to ensure optimal definition. Applying oil or serum before applying MOUSSE DEF will prevent the product from setting on the hair properly.
    • Check out our IG @ilovethedoux for more demos and product suggestions.

    • @TheDoux
      @TheDoux  5 років тому +12

      Stephanie Simon 1. Our IG feed is 🔥. Lots of video demos with tighter curls. 2. We’ve been using this and only this for the last 5 years in our salon on ALL hair “types”. Hair type doesn’t determine your results. TECHNIQUE does, along with your hair care habits and the way you approach hair hair based on what you know. 3. The 4c hair series on our channel is a great start if you’re not getting the best from your hair. 4. Getting hung up on 4abcdefg is the very reason most people don’t get what they want. If you like YOUR hair, and want the best from YOUR hair, you’re good! The videos and following the directions will deliver the guidance you need to get bomb definition, volume, and shine. However, if you want your hair to look like “her” hair, you will always struggle with being satisfied with anything that doesn’t alter your curl pattern completely. MOUSSE DEF is going to amplify the texture you have, but it won’t change your curls into something they’re not. I hope this helps. P.S. My answer isn’t directed exclusively to your comment, but I get “hair type” comments often, so forgive the lengthy response.
      I’ll be posting on IG soon about this, so please follow, subscribe, and share. I’ll also be wrapping up the 4c series with an explanation of why hair typing is a joke in the end. Thanks for your comments. Love y’all!💕

      Casie Priest uuuum lol let’s just say I’m not a pro at wash and goes. The definition was definitely there as I was styling but my hair shrunk up SO much. I don’t think this is a bad product but I’ll definitely need to try this again. Maybe try to blow dry instead of air dry

    • @TheDoux
      @TheDoux  5 років тому +5

      Casie Priest 🤦🏾‍♀️and this is why so many people struggle. Oil is not compatible with gels or mousse. It breaks up the polymer in the formula if it’s present on the hair before application.

    • @TheDoux
      @TheDoux  5 років тому +8

      D'Anna Pope While I maintain that shrinkage is always more about your level of comfort with seeing your curls in their natural state than it is about the performance of the product, one way to get less shrinkage is to apply the mousse to dry or damp hair, not wet. The more water on the hair, the less concentrated the product, and ultimately the hold and definition. Mousse def contains lots of water, so don’t worry about dryness.
      Another trick is to apply all over, detangle, then wait 15-20 minutes, until the bubbles are almost gone, then re-apply while you’re finger styling. If that doesn’t give you enough stretch, you can add weight to your curls by applying CREAM before MD. Hope this helps 😘

    • @TheDoux
      @TheDoux  5 років тому +21

      Frizz is a hydration issue. If your hair is frizzy, it’s most likely one of the following: 1. Not fully hydrated before applying the product, 2. Not fully saturated (not using enough) with the product, or 3. Was too wet when the product was applied (water dilutes ALL styling products). Check out our 4c hair series to learn about proper hydration.

    Hi. ☺ I see your comment stating this product works on all types of hair. Well, I'm asking for your help. Natural grey short hair (about 1 inch long) and when I use ANY product some of it curls and then I have the hair that doesn't curl. Sticking up all over the place. 😕 Do you think this prodivy will help. 🙏

    • @TheDoux
      @TheDoux  5 років тому +4

      Joyce Hutson sometimes gray hair just won’t let you be great! I know. Gray strands are void of pigment, basically just a shell of the hair’s structure. What this means for you is that it can feel coarse, wiry, and appear to have no curl at all 😞. It helps to have a great barber, but if you want to have a more uniform pattern, I would grow it out to at lease 4”, so that the difference in texture is less apparent. Hard to say since I can see your hair, but you’ll see more definition if it’s a little longer 💕
