To be honest most children stories and fairy tales historically are quite dark. Most of those tales meant to teach children to deal with morality of their deeds and install fear against strangers, lies and other deviant behavior. Fairy tales gained their modern look very recently, like mostly in 20th century. As for main heroine's books, they might seem scary but they could teach how to deal with traumatic events and explain difficult concepts of psychological problems in simple ways. I think it's important to show children different types of stories to make them understand this complicated world better.
Exactly, a great example of this (tho in a more tamed manner) is me being exposed to Tim Burton and Ghibli movies since I was very young. As I grew up, I felt really attached to the character of No Face from Spirited Away and I hold him really dearly to my heart, as it taught me how you shouldn't let your surroundings influence your beliefs, points of view and way of life, specially if they do it in a harmful way. I showed my nieces Spirited Away when they turned 10 (the same age I was when I watched the movie for the first time) and they were almost traumatized by No Face, they found him so scary, because oppose to me, the media they were exposed to as children was very limited and the fear of the unknown made it hard for them to understand the character and could only see the scary side of him, even to this day (they are 20) they still kind of fear him whenever I mention the character. So yeah, children learn, children understand, but they have to be taught different perspectives, otherwise their world becomes even more scary as they grow up, they react with fear but stop there, instead of trying to look beyond.
One of the best kdrama. 👌👌..deals with different psychological issues...the chemistry between the lead couple is off the charts.... Visually very pleasing ... heartwarming .. emotional ...👌👌👌
The book in this show is real. It was best seller here in Korea. So glad that you guys are watching this series. The show is about healing people's souls who were hurt. (Mostly mentally) YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH THE STORIES AS THEY GO ON.
Seo Yea Ji, the female lead in this drama, did a fabulous job in portraying Ko Mun Yeong. She won the audiences' hearts with her superb acting and beauty. Definitely one of a kind. I can't imagine any other actresses play KMY. KMY is for Seo Yea Ji only.
This Kdrama is really good, the visuals, the story, the morals and the characters are just so epic (not only the main but the side characters as well). My favorite about this show is Ko Moon Young's book stories which has to much morals (granted that it should not be a children's book but still good stories)
The male lead, Kim Soo-hyun, has starred in some pretty big series going back to 2011. This was his first acting role since returning from mandatory military service.
This is a HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL show. The visuals, the acting, the character development--it's all perfect. My husband and I rarely agree on shows to watch, but he actually sat down and watched it with me. He enjoyed it, and I absolutely LOVED it.
Its okay not to to be okay is the greatest kdrama of all time its unlike any kdrama Ive seen before. Kim Soo Hyun the lead actor is the highest paid actor and endorser in South Korea . He's so versatile and talented plus he can sing & dance. Another legendary kdrama of him is called My love from the star together with Jun Ji Hyun (youve watch her as Ashin from Ashin from the North/Iconic actress/highest paid actress in South Korea) its a romcom so hopefully you will react to it in the future ♥️ thank you
Children's stories have always been dark. We all know the alternative explanations and endings too fairytales. Its just that us as adults can identify the darkness underneath the beautiful story, since we can identify it around us. Ko Moon Young's stories did a good job of showing scariness of adulthood as scary children stories
This kdrama just amazing..its all about these psychology things, how each character deal with their illness like anti social disorder, what causes them...it's a healing drama!!
I remember that I watched this kdrama with my mom and my sister, I really love the visuals, after this they actually sold the books but of course they're in korean. About the books I also wonder why the parents would buy those books to their child I know I wouldn't. Also Ko Munyeong outfits are beautiful ✨
Hi, for a lil bit info for you guys: the words/quotes on the bridge are actually exist in real life. Its one of the step for suicide preventation. South korea has a high rate of suicide, many of them committing suicide by jumping from the bridges. Hence, you will find those words on every bridges in s.korea
OH MY GOOOOOOOD!!!! I FREAKED OUT!! This drama is so good jaksnzkaksnslams, you guys are really on for this kdrama thingz and I greatly appreciate that!! This Psychological drama is an awakening to those people who don't have mental and emotional problems, for them to see what it really feels to be different. I hope this kdrama saga continues 🙏🏻💖

Hi Guys, I don't usually comment on reactions lol, but I loved yours and this drama is really one of my favorites. I love the actor and the actress so much, they are so is incredible in this one. Really great. Anyways loved your, reaction can wait to watch the next one ;)
Hahahah.. You have to remember that many of the original fairy tales do not have happy endings until it was 'disney-fied'.. like The Little Mermaid didn't end up with the prince, she turned into sea foam.
you just have to look at the mega famous Brothers Grimm fairy tales (from 1812). These are way darker than Ko Moon-Young's fairy tales. As kid I always liked them way more then shallow "disney-fied" modern fairy tales.
You're the only ones reacting to my favorite Kdrama 🥰 Gonna rewatch my favorite scenes with you guys. Your excellent taste in Kdramas just earned you a new subscriber 🤌♥👌 Love your reactions. Keep 'em coming!
i'm so curious, what other shows was this up against??? i love this kdrama and never thought yall would go into this genre so im excited and hoping you like it!! :) alsooooo the next time you decide to watch a non-action kdrama yall HAVE to watch sky castle. its basically in the kdrama hall of fame, it's so tense and the commentary is super interesting!!
also heads up main leads having known each other in childhood (whether they remember or not) is SO common in romance kdramas so if you watch any more, prepare to see that pop up more and more

What she means is that her mom is dead but her soul is still alive. “She’s physically dead” she ain’t alive on Earth. “Her soul is still alive” her spirit is still with the daughter
with your list, next please go with extracurricular drama, i'am sure the reason that drama don't have many vote than other cause the drama is not really famous one, but the stories is really good. I'm just like, where have I been all this time? why am i just watching now? hahaha. fyi if you like kind of survival drama, happiness is about zombie, sweet home is about monster.
