That’s a good deal buddy, you know if we all donate to the cause. If each of your subscribers give $5 that’s almost $40,000 and you can build a nice size shop
Hey Ross, enjoy the videos. Just wanted to say gravity is not my friend either. Took a job fixing RVs getting underneath or going on the roofs was a if and when type of situation!!!. Catch myself saying “that’s me” a lot of times!! Your vertically challenged brother, Mike W. from Green Bay, WI.
Back when my dad worked for a agricultural contractor in the late 70s. When they did servicing in the field, they dug a hole under the tractors and dropped the oil into that. The old filter and box went in the hole too!
I'll bet its an emergence brake shoe that causing the problem in that back wheel, I had a 99 F150 do the same thing. Dont forget to recheck the rear end oil and you know why. Glad to see it was something really simple to fix to get the old girl running like a top again, Now you got a road cruiser ! Bandit
Ross, look into a product I found a few years ago. I liked the first one so well I bought a second one later. Its called Champ Mats. They're about 3 x 4 and an inch thick. Makes laying on the ground, or on gravel much more pleasant. I got mine from a shop supply salesman. Looking online, the racing supply stores sell them. $50-75, but more than worth it to stay dry, clean, and more comfy!
Looks like a nice product. Might a $20 Yoga Mat work like that? Maybe they are more rigid. I have one of those tall cardboard moving boxes that was a backer for some spray painting so it has a 'water proof' side for the down side.
Anything is better than nothing, the champ mats can't be rolled, or folded, but are very lightweight and durable. The faces are flexible, and ez to clean oil and grease from. The center is a denser, foam for softer padding to lay or kneel on. I drop one and kick it under whatever, then put the second one beside it to scoot under what I'm working on. I have burned holes in them welding, and they still work great! But like I said, anything is better than cold, wet, rough real estate to lay on!
Ross, you got a sweet deal on that truck it sounds like now, hopefully a brake job on the rear end will take care of the rest of your issues. Yes it's fun working in the winter time on your vehicle crawling around on the ground. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Michael
I know that you upload a while after you take the videos but I wanted to give you my input just in case. I have seen this many times on these and it's usually not a brake issue, My money is on the TCM (Transmission Control Module), it's deceiving because only one wheel locks up so most people go straight to brakes, I'd say also that the chances of it being a problem inside the rear end are pretty low given the way the oil looked. The TCM's on these are prone to water intrusion which causes the exact problem you are having, last I checked a new TCM from ford was over $600 so if you have looked at the breaks and that don't solve you might at least do a visual check of the TCM (should be on drives side frame rail near the transmission) and see if there are any signs of water getting into it.
HI Ross well done on your truck, will be a sweet deal. Noticed that one of the rar shocks copped some damage with the forklift as well. Take it easy bud, keep soldiering on, love the channel by the way. I'm in Scotland by the way, the weather is damn wet here, I think in the full of Dec we had probably 6 days when it didn't rain. Anyway looking forward to better weather, theep up the good work👍
Well Ross, 23 had it's problems but you prevailed. I see 24 being more better. Happy New Year. Btw, you can get seat belt extensions, just plug it into the clasp and it will shut that bell off.
Wow, what a deal. Congratulations on finding that. That is going to be awesome when you are done with it. Those deals don't come along very often. See you soon.
When you get to working on the left brake, before you finish it and set it on the ground, put a 2X4 under the tire so that side is higher. Then check the axel oil level. If it's more than One Knuckle below the fill, add oil. That way when you pull away you don't have to worry about not having enough oil. 👍😉🇺🇲
Happy to see it drive. Wheel only locks up after brake is applied. Agreed it is most likely brakes. The emergency brakes are typically small brake shoes. But the emergency brake should not be affected by the application of main brake. Never saw a caliber lock up. At first they become sticky and you will notice hot smoking brakes on the affected wheel. Did the rotor seem excessively hot??
Those little hand pumps are great! I've had several but the extension tube eventually falls off into the jug. I have to use one of those in my '75 F350 since there's no access to the tranny fill plug because of the PTO and the exhaust. The other side is wide open, but of course, no plug. Thanks Ford! Last time I used it, I hose clamped some heater hose to the bottom end where the extension would go and it seemed to work well. I was in a hurry using it, and just put the mug in the shed with the pump still in it so it could drain off. I stead it continued to siphon the oil out of the jug, all over the floor...... Those pumps just don't like gear lube when it's cold though
Good deal. If you don't find anything on your visual inspection of the brakes, you may want to see if it has wheel speed sensors back there. Could have a faulty one back there which is causing the computer to send a brake application.
Maybe a building company will sponsor putting up a building like 100 x 300 with a hot tub in it for the sponsored Hooters girls to soak in during the videos and warmer for you to work in and if Ross gets cold he can join the Hooter girls in the hot tub!!
Hello, I've been watching your videos for a little while now. Your videos are both entertaining and informative. Enjoy the videos. You may have figured out your brake issue by now but thought maybe one of the brake shoes for your parking brake came loose and is wedging itself in the little drum on the backside of the rotor. Not sure if it would do that while stepping on the brakes though. I've had pieces of those parking brake shoes break off and wedge itself inside that little drum and it just locks up the wheel. Most of the time you can just back up and it comes free, sometimes you have to take it apart by force. I hear you about working on the ground outside in the winter. I live in central New York, so I fully understand. Thanks for the videos you put out
I'm sure you noticed the along with the brake line damage, the fork lift also damaged the driver's side rear shock. That may be something to keep an eye on.
If it has traction control through the abs system it could be that the traction system is applying brake pressure to only one side. And putting it in reverse cancels the program. I know my 08 jeep has this traction control and the right rear brakes only last 1/2 as long as the left.
I’d replace the brake caliper Ford has a problem with the calipers hanging up I’ve replaced all four of mine and one of them twice before I got them fixed
Under those 3 cap plugs are 3 nuts onto the mirror studs that hold it on. Putting a new one on will be the easiest job you’ll have all year. It wouldn’t cost much to replace the seat covers and cushion foam either. 2-3 hours and you’d have it looking spiffy!
I got a gas tank strap on my super duty I have to change but snow is on the ground from the other day so it's not happening wratchet strap will work for now at least you only have the 10.25 gear set more common than my sterling 10.50 gear set
I’m betting the parking break on that side is causing the issues. There small brake shoes that’s probably came apart. Either way great buy. Enjoy your videos.
Had that happen on my truck. Didn't lock it up, but caused so much heat that it cooked the caliper and brake pads to the point that they just disintegrated when I pulled em off. I removed and trashed all the parking brake mech when I put it back together.
Just drive it and get the brakes to polish up the rotors. It has probably been sitting awhile and has formed rust on the rotors. The more you drive it the better it will
I have a 02 f350 that was doing similar to what this is doing except it would lock up without pushing brake pedal. It ended up being the parking brake which I deleted and it's been fine ever since.
Sticky calipers is a Ford sales feature.
How do you sleep at night.......You stole that thing!
The person or company that got rid of that thing sleeps very well at night…
You did it! You fixed it. I don't care what anybody says, but you are a smart person. I am proud of you. A job well done.
That’s a good deal buddy, you know if we all donate to the cause. If each of your subscribers give $5 that’s almost $40,000 and you can build a nice size shop
You are one persistent SOB. Keep it up, I love it
A man I can relate with…..Don’t forget the Mountain Dew!! 😅
Get a roll up tarp on it keep your tools and parts in the dry
Man Ross great truck I’m happy for you
Progress, more better.
Ross, your gonna just love all the warning dings and noises that this lovely truck will make at you 😂😂😂
Even a blind pig finds the hole in the fence. Hope this turns out to be a new mobile horizontal surface for you. Happy new year.
I understand, I have had experience . Young and old cars, then I joined the USAF , I will not explain
You are the Man!
Ross you might check your shocks back there think one is bent
Ah, those wonderful Ford chimes!!
She’s a sweetheart!!! And a driver!!!!
If you press the +- buttons on the shift lever it will change the display and show what gear it’s shifting through. Helpful to see.
They also forked one of your shocks.
That’s going to be a good truck once you get the brake problem fixed. Good job my friend!
I'm glad you got your truck runnin buddy
Ross... you just gonna get good at all this...
I am waiting for Ross to clean out that truck!
Be sure to check axle joint.
Great work, definitely seems like brake locking up , getting her done thanks for sharing, that pick up is all white...🤣🤣👍

Glad to see you bandito hope to see more videos from you this year. Have a great day
Looks like new shocks might be in order.
Ross needs to hurry up and win the lottery so he can get a shop built with concrete floor😂
He should bought a lottery ticket when he bought the truck.
@@neilkratzer3182 that’s no joke to. Lucky dude for sure. That trucks a steal at 1500
Think you have a winner
Hammer time Ross

Excellent video again a steal of a deal thanks for sharing

thanks for sharing and a happy oil fill to you.
Success! I think once you get that brake fixed, you'll be fine. Great purchase!
Possible it’s an abs issue as well. Replace wheel speed sensors on the back for sure. They are cheap.
Those darn seatbelts, cool video.
That's awesome. Can't wait to see the next video on it to see what you find out
Enjoyed the ride! Good truck 👍🏻🇺🇸
Sweet truck. Clean too.

Those parking brakes come apart. Little drums that go inside the rotor! I've felt with that! POS design!
Great job Ross
Score! Good purchase Ross. Happy 2024 with well running equipment and no sadness 😁!
Great to see your truck drive successfully Ross
Happy New Year, Ross!! Congrats on the truck!!
HI Ross well done on your truck, will be a sweet deal. Noticed that one of the rar shocks copped some damage with the forklift as well. More progress! Nice video Ross!

Again you are smarter than your average bear. Happy new year Ross.
Hi Ross, It looks like you also need to replace the rear shock absorbers as the fork lift has also damaged one. Cheers Stew.
Wow, what a deal. Congratulations on finding that. That is going to be awesome when you are done with it. Those deals don't come along very often. See you soon.
Good job!
Great deal 😊

Did ya notice the center cap was missing on that wheel? nice progress on the truck!
Happy to see it drive.

😁Hoorayyyy ! Fantastic result . Pocket warmers ROSS .. High mileage ? Might as well do a four corner brake job . Great video Thanks
Those little hand pumps are great! I've had several but the extension tube eventually falls off into the jug. I have to use one of those in my '75 F350 since there's no access to the tranny fill plug because of the PTO and the exhaust. The other side is wide open, but of course, no plug. Thanks Ford! You should build yourself a shop.
Excellent! So glad you got her on the road. Chore gloves ? Made my hands cold just seeing them. Happy new year to you and Buddy. Be safe! Thank you
Good job could be a bad caliper or brake hose
Good deal. If you don't find anything on your visual inspection of the brakes, you may want to see if it has wheel speed sensors back there. Could have a faulty one back there which is causing the computer to send a brake application.
Great video Ross. Looking like you got a great truck for that price. Looking like you got some brake issues, but still a super deal. Congratulations.
I liked it!
Good job!! Nice truck! Happy New Year!!
Those trucks have Ceramic pistons in the calipers that were an issue if'n i member correctly . SEE
I found it easy to use a metal funnel with a flex hose on it and just pour the fluid in that way. I dislike those hand pumps lol
If you push the plus button on the shifter while in drive it should show what gear you are in.
Now for a clean up job . I bet ya it's a e brake issue or caliper great to see it go . From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
looks like it should be a good truck for you. Now you need to load a trailer up and see how it pulls.
And it's a long bed thats 🎉carier than hens teeth now days
Maybe a building company will sponsor putting up a building like 100 x 300 with a hot tub in it for the sponsored Hooters girls to soak in during the videos and warmer for you to work in and if Ross gets cold he can join the Hooter girls in the hot tub!!
Short of the struggle bus period, you have a hidden beauty hope the brake issue is all it is ,ready for that video Ross. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy New Year Ross glad to see your truck is running you always manage to get the problems worked out
You stole that truck! That's really a clean nice running truck. My best guess is a brake issue and it could have 4:30 gears?
Hello, I've been watching your videos for a little while now. Your videos are both entertaining and informative. Enjoy the videos. I’ll tell ya what, you’ll fall in love with that 6.2. Didn’t take but 1 mile for me to know I made a good decision when I bought mine.
Ross they also forked up your left rear shock
Check the e-brake on that side if its the drum in disk style the brake bonding may have come loose from the backing.
I have a 2008 f350 super duty and I have changed calipers on mine a few times
Maybe the wheel bearing is jamming up?
If it’s got rear disc brakes, it could be the emergency brake cable on the one side is slightly engaged
If it has traction control through the abs system it could be that the traction system is applying brake pressure to only one side. And putting it in reverse cancels the program.
I know my 08 jeep has this traction control and the right rear brakes only last 1/2 as long as the left.

I believe that trans Is a six speed, and the brakes locking up could be as simple as missing a bolt
Just drive it and get the brakes to polish up the rotors. It has probably been sitting awhile and has formed rust on the rotors. The more you drive it the better it will
We had a 03 f350 and the rear right parking park broke an locked the wheel up also
Just so you know, Ford Transmission will not lock up till it see's around 120f degrees of transmission fluid temperature
Looks like they hit the driver side rear shock with a fork too. Did they crush any brake lines on the axle?
What socket rails do you use that keep the sockets in place well?
Reversing should not free up a stick caliper. Maybe the brake pads are worn like a wedge so they jam up in one direction and free up in the other.
Sure seems like the brake is the culprit
I have a 02 f350 that was doing similar to what this is doing except it would lock up without pushing brake pedal. It ended up being the parking brake which I deleted and it's been fine ever since.
E brake sticking
My brake got so bad it was smoking was a collapse brake line for shure
