I'm WAY overdue for this tutorial, but had some fun and took the time to go over all of the essentials in this amazing new effect.

Good to see you still doing this work Chris. I think its been 7 years now. I use custom max tools now but I'm also building an unreal timeliner. I've managed to get my teams workflows into lumiom, twin motion and unreal respectively.

Nice to hear it. We blender and geometry nodes for most of our stuff now. Lumions tools are very nice too for quick simple effects

The only in depth phasing animation tutorial now. many thanks. i found one issue with this phasing workflow. in example if u want exterior walls to get sky drop in stagger effect, u have to have import each walls separately. now there is a catch (big problem) once u import and later u go to modify wall material, material is individually for those walls, its pain to modify one wall then copy paste to other walls. i have tried all possible ways. Conclusion - lumion dont recognise import object material id, which imported in parts, material id is same in 3dsmax. i hope u found any hack.

If they are identical walls objects then you could use node replacement. I did this to instantly set 200 columns to animate and their mat ids are all linked.

@@CWelton6 it's exterior bungalow, so no identically similar Objects. Fbx exporting from 3dsmax same material but importing in parts breaks material link. Lumion should look forward to implement material id issue. For bigger project require phasing will be big draw back.

Oh got it. Yeah totally agree. Otherwise you have to save material set and load it into each piece. Thats a pain. In that case I typically try to set my materials/textures in modeling software then never have to touch materials in lumion to keep my sanity. Another thing thats a big drawback I mention in the video, is having to import each piece one at a time. That in itself takes forever. A batch importer would be so much nicer.

@@CWelton6 yeah batch import with material id intact would be biggest update. Thanks for replies. ur doing great work please keep going. 👍

Bom dia amigo! Você conseguiu explicar de uma forma simples e eficaz. Foi uma aula onde quem não conhecia nada, como eu, me ajudou muito a enxergar o conceito deste tipo de animação. Fiz minha primeira animação com esta aula! Obrigado! Parabéns! "DEUS" TE ABENÇOE!

Thank you very much for this tutorial. I have been having having issues with parts that are sequenced are still showing in the clip before the pop in. It shows perfectly in the preview slider but the animation is glitched? Help appreciated. And thank you again.

    Great tutorial! Thank you :)
But I would do it without the background music next time. Got a little tired :D

Hello there! I've learned how to use animated phasing with help of your tutorial. But, I've got this question: what is the sun and sky setting you've used. whatever I try is so intense the main modeling is not clear enough. thank you :)
