Man I love watching your vids bro.. so Inspiring to get out there and go fishing. I'm a youtuber myself but film automotive stuff, gonna add my fishing adventures more.
I am a ard3nt fisherman from South Africa. From all the fishing uou tube channel I watch. You are real deal bro. You and your boys are Kings of jetties. The way uou play and fight fish on those slimy rocks are top class. TELL me you ofter talk about "cleats' like type of shoe. We also fish on similar slimy rocks. 🎉🎉🎉
I generally tie my mono to wire and haywire to lure .. I use 100 pound mono. 95 pound wire Kinda overkill but they will still smack it and I'd rather secure my fish off the rocks
Awesome... Question, sorry if its a stupid one, is there tidal movement there? Like strong current? Florida transplant here and the fishing is very different :-) So trying to figure out the fish.
Man, I wish Galveston and Surfside had the same action. Another great video Ray. If you don't mind, could you please share your set up? braid and leader lbs for kingfish and rod specs? Thanks!
Yea bro to be honest, I travel either way to get there myself. I just have a big passion for fishing. I actually went to surfside a week ago. Il try to show my setup on my next kingfish video
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 Thanks a lot! Man, buying a EV with low range was a fat mistake on my part. Even though it's a 3-3.5 hour drive, it takes me minimum 4.5 hours.
Here is one of my favorite ways to eat grilled kingfish... Grilled Kingfish 1/8 cup soy sauce 1/16 cup of Worcestershire sauce 1/8 cup of lemon or lime juice 1/4 to 1/2 stick of melted butter 1 Tbs of Tony Chacheres Creole Seasoning 1 tsp of Cavenders All Purpose Greek Seasoning dash of salt and pepper Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 finely chopped onion Mix all ingredients together and brush on fillets right before grilling...DO NOT SOAK FISH. (I might add that I like to cook the fillets pretty quickly on a fairly hot fire on an open grill, don't burn the fillets, but don't slow cook them....grill like you would grill a steak) Enjoy.
This was 2 weeks ago. However, iv been tied up with helping my father get through a surgery, so I fell behind on posting. I have one more king video to post and should be back on track after ina week or so
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 Oh okay me and some friends went to Port A but the water was very brown lots of kelp and rough waters and didn’t know what to do lol and I hope your father recovers quickly and is well. Happy Father’s Day to him and you if you’re a dad !

Port Aransas Jetties
You had me for a minute. Those are King Mackerel. Not in the kingfish family. Do you TX guys call them Kingfish?
Yes we actually do I need to change the title because you are right lots of folks do get confused
What leader do you use for kingfish?
I generally tie my mono to wire and haywire to lure ..
I use 100 pound mono.
95 pound wire
Kinda overkill but they will still smack it and I'd rather secure my fish off the rocks
Awesome... Question, sorry if its a stupid one, is there tidal movement there? Like strong current? Florida transplant here and the fishing is very different :-) So trying to figure out the fish.
It's not a dumb question.. Yes there is strong current especially on a new moon or a full moon

Where you get them lures from bud
A tackle shop in my hometown called Outdoor Alphas. I generally get most my stuff from there
@@southtexasfishingfam3436 in San Antonio thats why im from i think ive heard of it
@damianbarraza652 yes correct in San Antonio.. just stop by Mark who works there knows everything i use. He's very helpful
Do you uae wire for leader what size do you use
Yes I do I use 95 pound wire leader ..il be dropping a patreon soon so folks can ask more into depth questions
I got some wire but it 35 lbs i think...would that be to small
@torress1976 Yes, it can. A decent king can actually break that.. I would use 35 for Spanish mack
Soooo looks like imma need to catch a King… then make those tacos 🌮 bc they looked 🔥
Man them Tacos smacked. They were so good. I would have never known. That was my first time doing that
