They Are great bikes the honda 500 series but I i think ill risk going with cfmoto. They make really competitive bikes for cheaper with more features and i believe we need to start trusting them more as they've made ktms for years and have partenered with yamaha so they're definitely making big strides in the industry, great detailed review tho, keep the videos coming. 2K 2024! I did unrestricted and for me it was between this, the CB650R and the MT-07. Ended up getting the 650R, but this one came very close. Those fuel economy figures are very hard to argue with!
Such a great bike! Love my 650R, but I know she just wouldn't feel the same with a restriction kit. What's worse - you're carrying a bunch of extra weight for no good reason. She's built to handle the 90+ bhp. The 500F is much less of a compromise in this way. There's no added frame or equipment weight, which makes it more nimble and overall a better experience if you're restricted to A2.
Yep I completely agree with that, kind of don't like the idea of buying big then restricting but I suppose it makes sense cause you only have to buy one bike
@@pudmoto It's nice to have the option, but realistically most people buy a dedicated A2 bike and very much look forward to buying a new one once they pass their unrestricted. I still like to have the option though 😁
I had a go of one of these for the first lesson towards my DAS training Was quite impressed tbh nice handling, nice snicky gearbox, decent enough power. Thought about going this route before deciding to get the 600f
I'm an A licence holder 500f seems a good middleground between lightweight and power but I like the kawasaki Z650 too. There is a honda 500X a more rugged adv version. If your an urban commuter u dont want a heavyweight one.
If I'm really smooth and conservative with the 650R (going ~50mph), I'll approach the fuel economy this bike gets riding around like a tw@twaffle 😁 Note, I said "approach". Doesn't quite meet it.

Yeah z650 is a great choice for a middleweight too!! Yeah the 500x is actually a really good looking option too
@@pudmoto the 500x isnt really an adv bike tho cause its got too low ground clearance, its mostly a green laneing bike at best.
Yeah that is very true, more for people who just like the adventure styling rather than use
There's also the CMX500 for cruiser folks. Same engine, different frame and styling.
