I don't mind Coley, I think he would be a great coach.
One of the main goal of the incoming manger is have intense practice on how to get out of a high press and how to put on a high press on our opponents. If you look at most international matches, teams are gaining possession from high press moves. Jamaica's defense is always to kick the ball upfield for the forward to chase it. learn to play out of a high press and play through the midfield.
If Coley is selected it is because no top coach will agree to any quota for JPL players in the Senior Team. By the way the coach for the Senior Team should not be tasked with developing local players, that is the job of the Technical Director who is paid by FIFA.
@@nitro8825 Club level activities. The TD should just be selecting from the best . How can clubs claim they own players right but the JFF must develop them. In no country where football is a business anything works like that. They hire the best coaches to train young players but then again the coaching is weak in JA.

As I wrote previously, we need a Technical Director and a Head Coach. We cannot overburden either. The World Cup is here but a system consisting of a playing style and roles in different quadrants of the field, in both possession and defense needs instituting starting with our youngster at their schools, clubs, parishes, and federations. This will overburden a head coach. Both will be mandatory resources for each other's programs so that they can intertwine seamlessly for the benefit of both. Don't give the incoming coach basket to carry water. It will overheat the engine.

Miguel Coley is a reasonable candidate, given that he is Jamaican and was mentored by the highly regarded German coach, Winifred Schaefer and developed his footballing education and international level qualification overseas. He's a very decent Jamaican with vision, ambition and a track record of being an habitual winner from back in his schoolboy football coaching days. Also he believes in a balance between offensive and defensive tactics and should win over the fans with attractive football. We wish him all the best... he'd be an upgrade on Tappa and Grimmy, based on what we saw of the latter. The JFF shouldn't have to break the bank to get him.
What is this about “knowing culture” that a win ball game? A cheap JFF a cheap out the thing so more money go inna dem pocket it sick mi Jamaican ppl haffi suffer fi this. We need experienced international coaches. Not a “local good for the culture” person weh never win shit.

Hes not the best coach and is definitely lacking in areas but has still achieved things as a head coach.
Not comparable to someone that has never done anything as a senior head coach anywhere.
Coley may be great but we have nothing on his resume, we can look at and have any confidence that he will be.

How many foreign coaches we have had since Simoes? How many world cups we have been to since Simoes? Even Simoes failed on his second coming. Give Coley or another local coach a chance. Anyway, Jamaica will be at the 2026 world cup.

JFF have a big decision to make.. Their rhetoric is to get a coach that : has been the assistant to good coaches.. they are budgeting and slimming down on paying coaches.. they are looking for coaches that have experience at the international level, they are looking for someone who have a winning record, they are looking for intelligent coaches.. they need someone who has the passion for Jamaica football..Miguel Coley ticks all the boxes.. Good choice JFF.
Many of you are missing a few salient points. Most top-tier coaches will struggle in Jamaica because we are a nation. The few real fans can not even fill out the grandstand at the national stadium. We do not have any facilities, and we don't have a decent field with the WC standard size. The JFF is filled with empty barrels that make the most noise and do everything for personal glory. We are impatient people who think we have arrived because we are fans of big teams, know a few formations and star players’ names, and went to one WC. Any coach we get, many Jamaicans would not support the team, and no tier coach wanna play home games in front of 50 people in the bleachers and 500 in the grandstand. We are doomed as we have always approach football backwards.
What's the required qualification to become head coach of Reggae Boys? If Miguel Coley is a front runner, that's very worrying.

But for federation that are loaded with cash like England, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, they can get any coach they want, it's just a matter of do they want to pay the crazy salary that comes with getting a top club coach. Ancelloti almost took the Brazil job and Madrid upped his salary, case closed.

With all due respect the luck of the JFF has run out, the luck of the ReggaeGirlz qualifying for the world cup and the ReggaeBoyz making Gold Cup finals has run out and now the JFF will be exposed.
