As an Azerbaijani myself I couldn't stop smiling when I watched your video, such a nice, kind and refreshing couple visiting my homecountry. Thank you so much for this video, cannot wait to travel back and visit my family. Mostly the shape and ingredients are different when it comes to Azerbaijani baklava (we call it pakhlava), for example in my region we use saffron and walnuts instead of pistaccio. By the way imansiz means without faith, an non religious person. Iman means faith, its from arabic and used in Islamic context. You got a new subscriber, thank you. Ps: the crowded places are more outside of the city

The azerbaijani and turkish baklavas are looking different...the first one has diamond shape, has more nuts and bigger....turkish baklava is smaller, has square shape.

As an Azerbaijani, I really enjoyed the video. I am very glad that you like our country and that you gave very important and right information in the video. I should also mention that although Turkish and Azerbaijani baklavas are both sweets with syrup, there are differences in terms of their taste and the nuts used in their preparation. Both are very nice. Enjoy your travels😍❤
Wow, it is just so great! I am so glad you visit and share our beautiful country😍We all are so hospitable and affectionate towards tourists in our city❤
You two have such a nice energy about you. Sweet, welcoming, joyful. I admire your decision early on to do these travels and to live in places you have never been to before. Kind of brave actually but it also shows how well you both blend together, having this trust and bond that allows you to go to these unknown places in a sense of ease. Thank you for sharing♥
Thanks you guys so much for this new amazing video this week from Baku,Azerbaijan to shows these amazing streets in great joy & peace in Asia October of 2024❤❤❤
Hii! Im Mehri from Baku and i just discovered your channel. Must say that I loved your energy and way of presenting and showing our lovely Baku 🥰😍 Here I will share some notes about your questions😇 Turkish baklava is different from azerbaijani baklava bcs of its shape and way of preparation, taste and some ingredients. Azerbaijani baklava has rhombus shape, turkish one has square shape. Turkish baklava is much more sweeter than azerbaijani one. For inside part of azerbaijani baklava we use mix of ground walnut kernel and sugar in between each layer, but turkish one is with ground pistachio. On top of azerbaijani baklava we put nut, hazelnut or almond for each rhombus, but turkish one is without and they add some ground pistachio on top. For surface (idk if I used right word ) both we use syrup after cooking. For sugar cubes you did it very well ☺ U can also dip it a bit to the tea and eat after (it will be softer). I saw u were squeeze lemon to the tea, its perfect, I oved it 🤩 U can also just put one slice of lemon to the tea and drink it while lemon is inside )) And finally, I wanted to say "imansız" it means "faithless or unbelieving" literally, but sometimes we use this word not in a bad way, but just to make fun of our friend, So, dont worry about what u said to that guy 😅🥰 Thank you so much for your energy and positivity! 🥰
İlk defe videonuzu görürəm və Azərbaycana gəlməyiniz marağımı çəkdi, birde marağımı çəkən ingilisce super danışmağınızdı.Birde maşallah çox pozitivsiniz😊💖
In 10:08 you said true that we use cube of sugar with tea but generally we first dipping the cube of sugar to the tea for 2 or 3 seconds and then we eat it with tea. Maybe I have got some false in my writing but I hope I can make you understand. And thank you for presenting our city beautifully💫
The mosque with the large minaret that you showed at the beginning of the video is one of the oldest surviving structures in Baku. It is nearly 1,000 years old. There should be a plaque with an inscription indicating the date of its construction. In terms of age, it is second only to the Maiden Tower (however, many surviving structures in the world are far younger than the Maiden Tower:)) btw... I was surprised to see so few people there. But it turns out you visited during the Formula 1 event. During that time, the locals usually don't go there. Otherwise, the city center is always bustling with people, and the Old City usually has a bit more crowd than what you showed in your video.
I don't like how wherever tourists go, the local restaurants recommend them Turkish or Georgian meals. Why don't they recommend Azerbaijani style meals? Instead of Azerbaijani baklava, they serve Turkish baklava. Instead of yarpaq khinkali, they serve Georgian khinkali. They do not cook good Qutab or bake Qogal, shekerbura. Why don't they show the tourists that we have original cuisine as well?
My beautiful country You made the right decision when you came here, because you visited the beautiful places here, in fact, there are more beautiful places, but you were able to go here, thank you very much, you are loved 💓🇦🇿

Turkish baklava is too sweet. Azerbaijani baklava is well balanced to compare with Turkish one. But still it is a matter of taste and personal preference
