Great video. I actually like to let Tig be the 1st process to introduce my students to. I like aluminum because it freezes quickly and I can easily control the look of their 1st bead by running the foot pedal and talking them through it. My AC is not working on the school machines but I just uploaded a video of be going through the process with a student for their 1st time ever welding. I love teaching. Have a great day!
Hi Dusty. I thought Jody at 'Tips and Tricks' was the one and only welding channel, but you bring a different dimension to your videos. Great camera work.....And great tuition. Your artwork is fantastic as well. As a Tig beginner I'm getting a lot of help and encouragement from your videos. Many thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers from the UK.
Wow thank you Paul! That’s incredibly kind of you. And you’re right though, Jodi is a boss. Much respect to him for sure💪 But I’m happy you found me as well:) Cheers my friend!
Can you do a demo welding a piece of 2x2x1/4 aluminum angle (the end) to a flat piece of plate? Specifically on the inside corner, how much tungsten stickout do you use? What is your direction of travel? Where do you start and stop? I really have a hard time right in the corner. How do you fit the torch, feed the rod, and SEE what you're doing? My frames made with aluminum angle always look like crap in the corners. I really enjoy your videos...you make tig welding look so easy!!!
Just discovered your channel as I'm getting ready to start learning how to weld and really intrigued by your art, something I had never seen before and truly amazing. You are really talented I will look to buy a piece from you in the future. Also the way you explain things is great.
Hoping that PT2 has the split screen pointing at the welder to see the variation in amperage rather than the foot pedal. I really do believe that it would help beginners to see how much variation it takes and how important pedal control is. Thanks for another great video!
Unfortunately I’m still working on that feature :( I need another editing program to do double pic in pic. Soon tho! More upgrades coming! Good suggestion for sure! Cheers:)
More! Gimme more! Need! Awesome Video again Dust! How about a Video about what Metals can be mixed and welded together to get some more color into an art piece. Can you Mix stainless, bronze, brass, copper etc in one piece? Would it spit at you like a Cobra? How about electrolytic corrosion? Would it just say "no" ? What goes together, what not? Also:I Love your positive attitude! Welders do connect, not seperate:)
Dusty. I do enjoy your videos that's why I subscribe. When you say you "cleaned" with acetone, which is the way it should be done, then touch it with your bare hand your defeating the acetone cleaning. It's like a bodyman (painter) cleans with wax and grease remover then rubs his hand over the panel to see if it's flat. Yes, I believe the high heat from the Tig torch should burn off anything but you never know. Just FYI, keep up the "learning videos (I'm 68 and trying to learn Tig welding)!!
Hey Adam! Yes they’re 3/16” for sure:) I got a big ol stack of them snapped up by a place in town called Victoria Waterjet. Also another stack of 1/8” for some thinner projects:) Cheers my friend!
Love your "Positivity" comment. A good attitude will get your far in relationships and life in general. Beautiful welding and artwork. I am impressed. You should have 10x the subscribers that you have.
Thank you so much 🙏 I appreciate your message a lot! The positive vibe brings the good people here, it’s quality over quantity:) Thanks for your message! Cheers!
I love that you show your foot movement with the screen within a screen shot. That helps me a lot. Thanks for all you do. Im 64 and just trying to learn. Wish i had the eyes and dexterity of a man 40 years my junior. I really appreciate what you do. Thanks!
Can you show what your backside pentration looks like? On the surface it can look fantastic, but how far does it wet through. Not calling yours out, but for those that think it's all on the outside...need to pay attention to the backside too.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom. You rock! Btw, love that you remind people to care about their fellow man. Definitely not enough of that going around. Thanks again. I'm subbed! 👍
Just getting back into Tig from a 13 yr hiatus. Totally forgot about letting off the foot pedal a bit once everything is warmed up. Thanks for the flip flop shot! 👊🏻
Thank you for making these videos! I'm learning TIG in welding school right now and I've learned more from your videos than I have reading my text books or taking advice from my instructors
Thank you Dusty! I appreciate how clearly and simply you give direction. Most guys glaze over things, but you describe it then show it simply. Thanks again for your help!
I know it will be a little different for every tig machine but can you post your settings and the aluminum alloy and filler alloy your using here? thank u. great job.
Great video Dusty. It cool to see that even a pro is practicing on a regular basis. I'm getting closer to finishing my welding area at home. I can't wait to put this stuff into practice myself.
your one of the best at what you do.I started welding in the early 70's seen a lot of good welder and worked with some I learned the hard way ,I'm good but their others out there that is better
Those are only used if you don't have a foot pedal. It allows you to ramp up and down without a pedal while using lift arc or momentary switch on torch.
Who is the 1 Peckerhead who gives the most chill and helpful welder on UA-cam a thumbs down??!!
Haha all good. Part of the game. 🤙
this channel is criminally underrated
Ha at first all I saw was the word ‘criminal’ and tripped for a sec, but then read the rest😂
Thanks a ton for the comment!🙏 Cheers:)
🙏🙏🙏
As a newbie to TIG these are fantastic videos. Thanks Dusty, great work Sir.
Awesome. I’m happy I can help in any way!
Biggest fact of 2020
This is by far one of the best welding channels out there. Thank you for all you do. Oh and damn dude the art is sick as hell!
Best
Yooooooo thank you! I appreciate the heck out of you watching:) Cheers my friend!

Another top video dusty, you explain things well 😁👌
Thanks Darrell! A matter or organizing my zoo of thoughts before I hit record really😂😹
Thank you for the info man!!! First welder on it's way 😬😳 this is calming my nerves, making me feel like I have somewhere to start 😅 thanks
Yessssss! Congrats! It’s lots of practice but absolutely achievable for anyone who puts the work in! Let me know how it goes!
Your art is very nice. But a 13 min. video with over 9 min. of you talking (not about welding) is just weird..
Weird? I talked for 9 minutes in this video about not welding?
I appreciate you saying my art is nice though. 🍻

Hey Dusty, did you have notches on you filler rod to meter the fill rod amount? Or just coincidence with marks
I enjoy this.. you got a new sub...
Amazing! I appreciate that a lot. Thanks so much for checking out my stuff!
What makes the different colors of your tig art????
More! Gimme more! Need! Awesome Video again Dust!

Another great video Dusty. It was a great idea and real helpful to see the foot pedal action. Not many welding videos show that.
Your tig art is amazing!!!!! WoW!!

Pacific Arc Tig Welding 👀 forward to next one bruh 👍🙏🙏
🤙cheers bro
Are you welding off hand? Or are you a lefty?
I’m a lefty! Strange hey? I did learn to buzz away right handed as well, but like to keep it original 😂
🤚lefty here
Yes! Southpaws for the win!💪💪💪
When is the up slope and down slope needed? Seems most vids I’ve seen everyone skips those settings...
