Patti Smith is the best and most authentic female rock performer. And she managed to stay normal and clean in the chaos of rn'r explosion. Gloria indeed!!!
This woman is nothing but a living legend and Gloria is one of the songs of my life. As a woman, Patti is a role model and means a lot to me, especially the meaning of the word FREEDOM.
One of the greatest EVER! I'm grateful to Patti, Iggy, Bowie, Kate Bush and Tina Turner for allowing us to see that genius, originality and heart never truly leave the real disciples of modern music!
My all time favourite artist. Love her.First album i ever bought in 1978....i was 14. I have just read Just Kids. Amazing woman. Amazing life. Bless you Patti. No 1 fan...xxxxxxx
If you read Just Kids you'll learn that she's been getting crap about her sexuality her whole life and simply has not "swung that way." The woman has a nice list of men under her belt. Robert Mapplethorpe, Sam Shepherd, Jim Carroll, Her Hubbie, to name a few. She barely even did drugs. She loved other things, beautiful men, art, music, and her children. She's amazing.
i´ve finished to read her biografy "so´garotos" in portuguse here in brazil, and makes me so curios about her, a complete artist....MrDacioss, I love her....
Patti has opened up for me the option of exploring who I am. It's a matter of receptivity to whom one may-or may not bo or a combination thereof. It's not a matter of sexualit but, rather, of exploring one's being & proclivities. A matter of frededom.
Patti Smith, the best female's artist in this fuckin' life!Thanx for your words and for your music!Thank u very much Patti!!Old Rockers Never Die n Patti Styles Rules!
Patti is a bad ass! She rules the stage like Iggy without having to be a ping pong ball. nothing against Iggy. i've seen both of them live and it was always awesome. there are few people in this class. Patti is at the top! Iggy to but i'm talking about Patti now.
Patti is like the other side of the coin with Iggy. I've seen them both and they were both two of the best show's I've ever seen and I've been to hundreds of concerts. They both abandon themselves to the music which show's a kind of passion that I haven't seen often in my 32 years! Pearl Jam, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's and even Beyonce and Gaga have blown me away with their commitment but but Patti and Iggy were transcendent!
"Just Kids" One Of The Greatest Books Written About Love, Best Friends, Biggest Supporter, In This Life & Into The Next!! If You Haven't Read It Go Get It. Do Yourself A Favor!! Just Brilliant!!!
I really love Her ,she's a great artist! J'ai eu la chance de la voir sur scène à Fréjus en 1979 (je suis pas sûr de l'année),et je la redécouvre avec beaucoup de joie!
This woman is beyond god...gets better and better as she ages. Patti Smith, from her 1975 album Horses. This version is based on the Morrison tune, but its lyrics are reinvented for the nascent punk rock movement, retaining only the chorus, and adding possibly ironic allusions to the sacred allusions of the title. It memorably begins, "Jesus died for somebody's sins / But not mine". So cannot wait to see her here in New Zealand, Christchurch Saturday 25 April 2020.
" I fall in love with men + they take me over . I ain't no women's lib chick. I cant write about a man, because I'm under his thumb. But a woman I can be male with. I can use her as my muse. I use women" Patti Smith 1973
@m3rl1n4 funny how time goes by, now people want her to be the granny! reminds me of how i got interviewed on the radio after a patti concert years ago. "who's patti smith to you?" - i replied "an insane old woman and f'ing brilliant". the interviewer was shocked and asked "why OLD?". weird world, ain't it?
She's one of a kind.

Patti: would you like to be my grandmother please? xD
Seriously, this woman's divine. Absolute legend.
It's strange to think people older than your parents could do something like this.
+MrRedstardude And with authority.
I'm as old as your parents.....and as f#cked up as you could possibly wish.
