Hey thanks for this man! Cant wait for part 2. really wanna see how u program multiple fixtures and moving heads n hooking it up to your live show! Cheers!
Yo when I get to the right click learn part and I go to select a channel on the MIDI editor it doesn't work. The DMX software on my FX has the MIDI learn thing up but nothing registers any reason or work arounds?
I cant read the VST DMXIS in Reaper, I am in demo mode with no Enttec box connected. Is this the reason why? I have routed midi through my loopbe internal midi patch software. bring up tthe virtual keyboard, right click a fader press a midi chanel on the virtual keyboard.....Nothing???
Hey, thanks for the video, it helped me a lot but now I'm stuck a bit. Is there anyway to use both the envelope track AND the midi track for one fader? E.g. I have a red channel and i program the basic stuff in the midi item but sometimes I want to create crossfades with the envelope track. But when I create the envelope track, dmxis is ignoring note lenghts of the original midi track (regarding the red fader). It still gets the midi signal but only triggers the fade for like a 32th but its a 4th. Is there any workaround? Or do I have to program everything in the envelope tracks if i want to use dimmer curves / crossfades ? Thank you! Btw through this video I discovered your band and you've got a nice tune! Put some songs in my playlist right away ;D
Thanks for the run through man. Had a question.. just for example say i have a moving heads light with a fader that has three programmed movement functions, one at the bottom of the fader, one at the middle of the fader, and one at the top of the fader. if i were to assign this fader to a specific midi key like you do in your video and adjust the velocity of the note to the middle velocity, would this then trigger the fade to be in the middle position then making the lighting do its middle of the fader movement? thanks!
I've been waiting for something like this since the Gear Masters episode.
Made me rethink lightshows entirely.
Awesome video man, currently doing some major research on how to get all this stuff hooked up. In desperate need of Part 2 though!!
Super handy dude - currently exploring setting up pre-programmed lighting rig for our live show!

This is amazing ! thank you sooooo much 🙏
Hey JD, can I use a USB to XLR cable, connected to the first light. Instead of the DMXis box?
No, DMXis only works with it's own hardware :/
GuitarGAS ohhh ok
