I suggest adding something to deal with the mountain/valley illusion, without having to move the camera to see the parallax. Currently, a pit with light coming in from the left looks identical to a mound with light coming in from the right; which is especially a problem if time of day flips those directions. Maybe change the colors for the shadow, based on whether it's a mountain or valley? It can be subtle, but it'd let players subconsciously tell at a glance which is which, once they're used to it.
Thanks for your comment. We're already making some changes to improve the distinction between mounds and pits. This is a new feature so it will take some time get it just right. Still, we're excited with how it's looking already!
I don't think the height is properly conveyed though. Maybe you could add something to indicate elevation. Darker hue on pits and lighter hue on elevations could be a start.
Thanks for your comment. This is a newly developed feature, and we're not done iterating on it, yet. So it will improve over time. Still, we're excited with how it looks already!
Does this elevation work across floors aswell? As in if I add a second floor, can I make it I don't know... 2 high and if the player steps off of floor 2 it would fall to the 0 height floor 1 or does it only work with a single floor? Second question would be: Is it possible for characters to move up a steep slope going from 0 to 2 directly where they might get a climbing check or something?
Oh, my guys are going to have fun with this thing.
Yo this is super cool, great work!
VERY cool!

Height lines, maybe? Like a topographical map.
