I am glad you are updating us!! It’s been too long when you get addicted to a such a great channel!! 😊
Believe it or not, We are right now in Tenerife and we visited Santa Cruz last week!!
Thanks for your lovely videos and don’t make us wait 6 months for the next one!! 😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this video and previous ones:) very informative and helpful . Glad to hear you and kids still like it there. all the best wishes from Poland but hopefully soon...from Tenerife.
Our pleasure!
Thanks a lot for your videos! It's a goldmine of well-presented information!
Thanks a lot
Great to see you guys are doing well.
Ive watched your vlogs before moving to the south. It helped us to make the decision, and we don't regret it yet. We are here since july. Cheers & all the best for you & your family.
Awesome! Thank you!
Wooo great video, gives me a lot more of an insight to how things are when moving to such a beautiful place. Thank you for the video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Bro. Glad to watch your new video
So Informative and practical experiences as always 🌺🙏🇮🇨
So nice of you. Thanks
Much appreciated, keep up the good work!
Thank you too!
I have been watching you guys on this journey cos my family and I are planning to relocate to Tenerife. U are giving the courage that we can do it too. Thank you and and all.the best 👌
You can do it!
Wow. Many many thanks for this video.
It is without doubt the best video on living in Spain / Canary Islands. I had a holiday in Tenerife 30 years ago and had a great time. I have a cousin who lives in Fuerteventura and she loves it there. I am retiring next year and considering retirement in the sun. So this video has been very helpful indeed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am loving following the "new phase" of your life there in Tenerife! I'm almost convinced to move there from Portugal. I also follow Freddie Dobs who was there for 8 months and I loved watching all the episodes of his youtube channel regarding Tenerife.
It certainly won't be easy to find work there, but as I love motorbikes and photography I'd like to try something in the area out there!
I subscribed to your channel last week and I think I've seen all your videos ahah so please keep posting your vlogs more often, I'm really enjoying watching!
I wish you all the best and keep up the great enthusiasm and dynamics!
Regards from Portugal!
All the best to you too
Glad that you are back! Have been wondering how you guys are doing and happy to learn that things are well with you. I moved to Santa Cruz from Vienna in February (well not fully moved, traveling back and forth) and also believe that it has been the best decision ever.
Oh wow, nice to hear that. Glad you enjoy life on the island !!
Exellent video, well presented, informative and down to earth advice.
I appreciate that!
As always very good and informative video ;) Thnx for sharing
So nice of you
Nice to see you back! Great content as always 🤩Last time I saw your video was a while back. ⛴We moved here 5 months ago, and all is true what you say here. My and my wife work from home and our kids also go to public school here, first grade, and they already speak Spanish better than me and my wife 😜, unbelievable yet so true.....I couldn't stop laughing when you mentioned this. We are also feeling the island🏝 is turning us into "tranquilo" mode 😁🤣, away from the standard EU "stress" mode. Keep the good work. Cheers mate
Good to hear that and glad you enjoy the island.. Cheers
Thank you!! Love your helpful video!
So glad!
Hi Guys thanks for the really nice videos, you have a great family and you yourself speak very good English. And you also speak Rumanian and German too so I am sure that once you put your mind to it Spanish will not be a problem.. you all stay safe and take care now
Our pleasure! Take care
Yay, super good to hear from you guys and the updates of how are you feeling now after some time has passed. The weather truly is amazing there and so cool that it can have variations of the climate in such a little distance. 🙂
What kind of artists visited the Tenerife what you were talking about, spanish ones or is there a bigger arena too for bigger artists?
Thanks. No, unfortunately no big artists here, but smaller spanish ones
Thanks for the information. Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the info.
Any time!
Just came across your channel and subcribed. I am so interested in moving to Tenerife
Thanks, appreciate it
You hit a very good point there when you talked about the locals and how open they are to people moving to the Islands.
What I've noticed when I visited Tenerife and also Gran Canaria a few years ago, the locals were weary of most of the "digital nomads" that swarmed the islands, but actually embraced the ones that wanted to integrate in society. And actively seeking integration, that is the key. I've had friends in Romania ask me why would I want to move to another country, the people there "are not like our Romanians, you wont make friends like back home". I call bullshit on that. If you put yourself out there, if you engage in your hobbies and share them with other people, you can definitely make friends. Be it salsa dancing, surfing, rock climbing, playing football or even taking Spanish classes.
I really want to move to Tenerife next year, but even though I work 100% remote in IT (automation testing) and speak fluent English & German, I think it will realistically only happen in 2024 for me. Hope to at least visit TF in 2023 and I hope to bump into you guys when I do.
La multi ani! Numai bine!
La multi ani. Mult succes
Thank you for all the information you have shared so far. Sandra and I watched your videos and got some great insights and tips on what living in Tenerife feels like.
We moved to Puerto de la Cruz two weeks ago and really enjoying it. So, if you want to meet with some non-Romanians, let's have a drink together :)
Have a wonderful holiday season.
Glad it was helpful! Sure, maybe this week
@@LensVagabonds that would be awesome meeting, you Guys
Love this video, keep them coming! Planning to move from Bratislava to Tenerife by September and these kinds of videos are EXTREMELY helpful. Btw. on which website were you searching for your flat?
Thanks, on idealista.com
Thanks, lot of useful information
Glad it was helpful!
If you live in Santa Cruz, be sure to visit La Punta del Hidalgo and Bajamar. They were popular before mass tourism moved to the south and are on the decline, but have their charm
Thanks, we will
Nice...always good vibes
Big up
Hi all! Good to see you back ! Tell me please how are you managing the humidity on the Island? I live right now in Madeira but I have already plans to be out by next Christmas due to humidity issues.
Hi, there is no humidity here
Hi Virgil and Cristina! I've been following your vlogs. Congratulations for making Tenerife your home, especially moving your kids to a new country, a new school and study in a foreign language. I have a great, friendly Romanian pal in Glasgow, Scotland who also has very good English. Believe it or not he finds the winter in Glasgow warmer than Timisoara! The problem is we get lots of rain and wind!
Have you found many non Spanish people living in Santa Cruz? Or does Santa Cruz mainly just get foreign visitors? Was there a reason you chose to live there instead of the south of the island?
Thanks Gary. No, as the matter of fact not many non-spanish living in SC. The reason we love the north is the green nature all year round
We love you guys. We were in Tenerife in 2019. We love the climate vs Canada. If you have been looking for a "paradise" it is not where you live but it is close lol. If you have been looking for a motivation in life, it is unlikely to come from the material things... You are spiritual people. so, look into it. May God bless your efforts.
BTW: Spanish hams chorizo are high in salt. High blood pressure is next to it...
Keep doing what you have been doing!
Peace and love
Peace and love, and take it easier with the sarcastic comments:) You might get a sarcastic answer
@@LensVagabonds It wasn't sarcastic... It was more of an advise from someone who was in your shoes long time ago... looking for a paradise... 🙂
Hi there, I love the videos of the series and they help a lot because my family and I are most likely doing the same ☺️ In June this year we will be there on the 15th to spend 3 months but in my heart the goal is already to move. I would like to know more about the public schools. If we would move after summer school vacation the kids would go for the 6th and 9th grade. Which public schools would you recommend there? I've been studying the public transportation a lot. We hate cars ahahaha. Looks like they have a great network with public transportation. Could you please tell more about that? After summer break, when will the school start again? My boys are already fluent in German, Englisch, Portuguese, so I trust that they will be fluent in Spanish in no time. I would be very happy and thankful to know more. When we are there in June, could our families actually meet?
Hi Ines. Sure, give us a WhatsApp message in June: +34 670 663239
Thank you so much for the inspiration! My husband and I are planning to move to Tenerife from Vienna. We have been watching your videos since a year and still planning on leaving. Do you recommend on searching for a place in the north instead of the south?
Depends, we like the north, but we're subjective :)
Thanks for so much helpful information. A thing you never talk about is safety. The island got a high youth unemployment rate and i know some people who got problems with burglaries in Tenerife and Gran Canaria - have u heard or seen about it and does it affect you at all ?
Good point! But the only criminality I heard about is petty thefts and dealing weed. We live in down town Santa Cruz and it doesn't affect us at all
If possible please explain more about life style especially big differences between North (Spanish) and South (British)
Perhaps in another vlog
The video game or cartoon creation industry is growing and many studios are settling here and demand specialized labor. The pharmaceutical industry also and there is investment project of more companies in that sector. The ship repair industry is also growing and they need specialized labor; They have opened factories and according to the Port Authority, there is a list of logistics companies, factories that are going to open on the island. Not just tourism
Thanks
Hey Lens, thank you for the excellent video!
What made you choose Tenerife? Did you consider Gran Canaria or any other of the islands before choosing Tenerife?
Thanks. It was a personal preference. No we didn't considered GC
@@LensVagabonds
Please don’t say anything positive because the idiots who screwed up every nice place are eager to mess up another place and keep on moving to destroy still more places. Thanks for your video and staying in one place and contributing to keeping everything nice. I would pay my kids to teach me everything thing they have learnt! ❤
Great vlog! I also moved from Vienna to Tenerife but I live in the south. What Camera do you use great quality? Have a great day! 🤗
Hey Maxime. Thanks! I use my iPhone 13 Pro and edit in Final Cut. Hope it helps. Sometimes, but very rare, I also use my dji action cam for underwater shots and extremly slowmo
@@LensVagabonds Thank you so much for letting me know 😊
Nr. 1. We are moving too, aug. 2024
Hello again. One thing I want to clarify about work. The Canarian labor market is small because they are islands but not for that reason, you only live from tourism and the only thing that is offered is the work of waiter or chef. Hya a lot of demand for engineers, computer programmers, graphic designers, welders or optical and healthcare specialists. Construction also needs skilled labor due to the amount of infrastructure that has been programmed. Look in the press
Thanks for the info!
I'm amazed at how your daughter speaks with a chicharrero accent already.
Is the accent distinctive?
She does :)
Yes
There used to be private beaches. That's no longer legal though, and all coastal areas are to be enjoyed by the public.
Thanks for the info
Great video guys, I used to live in Barcelona and it was fantastic!
Just got back from Gran Canaria and loved it…..
Thinking of options having sold my house in Uk.
Are you EU passport holders? I’m Uk post Brexit 🙁 have you had to apply for visas?
Yes, eu passport holders. All the best to you
I like Puerto because of the vegetation, but I heard that in Puerto de la Cruz, and in general in the north, in summer there are always cloudy skies, is that true?
Yes, to some extent it is true. But not all north, we had a superb summer in Santa Cruz for example
What are the natural disasters (weather) like? Is it true there are dangerous volcanic eruptions? Thinking of moving from California.
No natural disasters. No, its not true
Great vlog! I've been checking your videos for a while now and really considering moving to Tenerife with my partner. We're planning to move without having work contracts but we have sufficient savings. Do you think we can make it if we have let's say 5 years worth of rent as savings? Is a work contract essential? Thanks in advance!
Hey, thanks. I have no idea if you can make it or not. Depending on you habits :)
@@LensVagabonds I meant would the fact that we have no work contract but only savings be an obstacle in getting a house to rent? Thanks in advance
Pretty much yes. You could find an owner who is willing to take you in if you pay a full year rent in advance. But this is becoming more and more seldom. You have to understand that 90% of the flats here are for short term rent, the 10% left are for mid-term (4-5 months) and for long term. So there is a constant battle for the long-term flats, and the owners know this. And they also have a lot to choose from, they will always prefer a local and not a "gringo" :)) But I guess that is normal
@@LensVagabonds thanks for this info! That’s very useful!! I guess we’ll try our luck in all Canary Islands and we will eventually find something fingers crossed. Thanks again 🙏
Hey guys, me and my girlfriend are planning to move to Tenerife. We have a dog with us, is there any tips that you can give us about jobs or where are the better areas to live at a good price? We live in the UK at the moment and we need Sun 🌅 any tips you can give us will be really appreciated
Hi Rafael. Today I will post a video who covers a bit this topic as well. The north of the island is cheaper in terms of rent and overall daily expenses. When I say north, I mean the area between Candelaria and San Andres (las teresitas). Between La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz again, is a bit more expensive, and in the winter months also colder. For guaranteed sun, then the south betwewn Los Cristianos and Callao Salvaje...bu you can also venture to Los Gigantes, however prices are higher, and is very touristy
Hello guys, we are from Slovenia and we also want to move to tenerife. We are a family of 4, we have 2 small children 3 year old, twins. How long did you take to actually move there. We would be also very happy to meet you in person. Thank you 😀
Hi Barbara. In 2021 we decided in May we would move here, and in September we moved, less than 5 monhts
@@LensVagabonds thank you very much. You are so helpfull.
We would like to know, if you dont count the app rent, how much do you spent per mounth, the bills, food, if you go out how much is a normal lunch. We are a simple family, we dont need much. Thank you
Have you been introduced to the "Chiringuitos" yet?
Of course :)
I want to bring a car there with me rather than buy one locally. Please share how the process of registering a car driven in from the EU looks like after you have established residence.
Maybe in some other video
I receive 4100 US dollars in pensions. Wondering if that’s enough to live in Tenerife for a family of 3. Good video.
It's enough without doubt having a regular life. You have to think that the average salary in canary islands is about €1200+ for most of the people and they manage it even having kids. Health and public schools are for free once you are a permanent resident.
Yes, it is enough
like a king!
Thanks a lot for the information everyone
Heyy :) My husbent and I would like to move there. We're from Bosnia and we have a dog with us(beagle) I am scared because I don't know can we find petfriendly apartment end is it complicated to move there with a dog? Also do you know something about job as a personal and fitness trainer who don't know Spanish, is there job for that? Thank you 🙏😊
Have you researched if the Socialists have taken over spain? I mean you could just skip ahead and move to Venezuela
I brought my dog from the U.S.A. 34 years ago and they didn´t even check the dogs passport! They do now, however it is a dog friendly place, and I am sure you can find an apartment that accepts animals. Very relaxed place, the people are nice, and once you learn some of the language, everything will change. The people are very helpful to foreigners.
Dogs are very loved on the island. A lot of people have dogs here. I think fitness is a big plus here
If you are looking for video ideas, be more specific. Your videos are great, but they are very general; ie. about your family's move and the experience with the Spanish/Tenerife culture, your kids at school etc. You moved from EU country to another EU country, which is relatively easy, if you have a job, or can open a business. You can think more broadly though. You can think about people who live outside of the EU, like US, Canada, UK or Germany. Find out what it would take for them to retire in Tenerife, or move their business, or buy a property. Also, people who are looking to relocate would like to know more about the place than just the weather and the climate. They would like to know what they can do there in their spare time. Or, how to open a business. Some people have business ideas, which can be implemented almost anywhere where there are people willing to work or do business. Let's say I have a business online that I would like to expand into Spanish speaking people or German and I don't mind moving to Tenerife or Spain. Find out details and do a video.
I hope this helps you amigo Rumano... 🙂
Not helping:) But thanks anyway. I can post whatever I want on UA-cam. If you don't like it, just move on. It's actually that simple. I don't plan to post just informative videos, never was. If I want to post a video of me sleeping in a tent that's what I will do. This channel is not explicitly about Tenerife
@@LensVagabonds True. Here is something to keep in mind for the future: You have a set of skills that not too many people have. You speak many languages. You, and your wife, have IT/ Photography skills. There are people out there who may like it but they would like to know your other skills, like peoples skills, before they could offer you a job or even a business opportunity. Think about what would happen if your channel was to be reviewed by a big company that was looking to invest in Tenerife market and was evaluating skilled people to become their employees or even partners. Would you pass in the customer service department? ;-)
This is not my main channel. The romanian one is my main one, where I have collaborations with SurfShark for example :) This channel is more of a hobby, that's why I don't care about UA-cam downgrading it
950 euros for a flat that size is nice.
It is, but its uncommon now in 2024 where the prices exploded,. But we signed a contract for 5 years back in 2021
Bro the construction industries are booming you dont know what you sayinh lol 😂
Thanks for the insight
17:50 lol food is not like in Austria? Food in Austria and Germany is total crap if i have to say that. And Germans and Austrians don't know about food a thing. But you're from Balkan so.. but you should eat more like people from the sea so your blood pressure will be in check and forget about Austria and Germany food. Btw. Nice video
I was talking about specific food, not all food
You got a room I can rent 🤞🏻?
Nope, sorry. We are 5 :)
It’s confusing when you say that some medical paid by the government… do you mean by insurance ???? Government and insurance is absolutely different thinks….
