    Coral reef safe sunscreen is the best thing you can do to help the reefs if you are swimming!! This goes for everywhere. Have fun!

    Mark and Joycelyn are adorable together! More videos like this!! FYI: Packing Ziplock bags is a game changer. I travel to many destinations that rain often, and I always put my passport and money in a ziplock bag. Also you can use the larger ziplock bags to store leftovers ect...

    One thing I would like to add here is if you have your own snorkeling equipment (i.e. the mask, and the snorkel), bring those for 4 reasons:
    The first 3 reasons might make you consider buying the gear:
    1) You can take comfort in knowing that your gear is you own, meaning that you know that it is clean from other people's germs.
    2) You know it works, as in not broken.
    3) You know it fits you. Thus, you don't have to spend time trying to adjust the gear before you go into the water. That means....
    4) You get more time to spend in the water!!!!!!

    I just got back from Turks and Caicos, and I found the prices at the restaurants little different then what you would pay in Southern California in the LA/OC area. However regarding the grocery store prices, Turks is significantly more expensive.

    One thing to pack for sure is the off bug spray you have to go with the deep woods because the regular off doesn’t do anything..I have felt the bugs come on then get right off..

    Good tips. For your ziplock bag I also recommend throwing in a few silica dry packs...those little packs you often find in clothing packages that you throw away. Great for keeping items dry when in a sealed bag.

    Very nice video about Turks and Caicos but taking those items you may save some money. I lived in the beautiful island of Providenciales for 10 years, and yes all is expensive because is imported but is such a nice and beautiful place and the color of the water is amazing.

      Hello :) I'm from turks and Caicos, when you're leaving to go back home make sure to pack your liquids, tools, scissors in your checked bag so that you don't lose anything when you're leaving. Also!!! If you decide to purchase any wooden swords or hot sauce or beer or liquor to take back home check them in so you don't lose those either. God bless

    This is a coincidence as I've been tossing around the idea of going to either T&C or the Caymans next year for a quick 3-4 day trip thanks to having saved up enough hotel points.
    Also, kudos for mentioning coral safe sunscreen. Would be good to mention sustainable travel in the future when possible.

    It is humid in the Caribbean! It was SO humid that I refused to go to the beach. No berets walking the beach here unlike Jamaica. We stayed at an AIRBnB. I longed for an iron skillet. She had cheap pans:-( Yes, the prices in the grocery store knocked our socks off! I still say Maui is a MUCH better destination even though Maui is crowded now that the secret is out.

  • @BillGreenAZ
    @BillGreenAZ 5 років тому

    Speaking of battery packs, I just bought a Halo Bolt for travel. I use it in airports to keep my smart phone charged so I can surf while waiting to board my plane, especially since my boarding pass is on my phone. I don't have to try to find an outlet at the airport.
    Do you have any experience with other brands of battery packs?

  • @IlonaKayG

    We don't have an underwater camera, so we always bring a floating waterproof phone pouch on a lanyard with us. They work pretty well, but it's hard to stop/start the video underwater, so we have to swim up to do that. A waterproof camera would probably be better, but the benefit for us is that we can use our phones in the pouches while swimming in the pool.

      @steam steam Saving $25 USD is inconsequential. Besides, Mark and Jocelyn are not budget travelers. Packing a bottle of wine for a luxury destination is like making a reservation to a 3 star Michelin restaurant and skipping the first course to save some money. 😂

    • @SilverSamurai12
      @SilverSamurai12 5 років тому +2

      @@steamsteam6607 I agree.
      Lots of people save a special bottle for a special occasion. Corkage anyone?
      For all we know they've been saving a bottle they got a while ago and decided to open it up now.
      If so, I doubt it's likely NOT a cheap $25 bottle now.

      @Xavier No one said the wine is $25. If a restaurant in T&C sells a bottle for $85 USD and you pack a decent bottle that cost $60, the savings is only $25.
