This video was perfect. Thank you! Went from 0% winning face-offs in Semi Pro to about 75% winning face-offs. I'll take that.
Happy to hear it helped. Have a good day!
How I still cant win one
I've just started playing the game and I cannot win any faceoff for days lol still struggling this is wild they don't even tell you how to do it
I lost Faceoffs 32-0 in my first game lol
Thanks man
Just lost 58-0 after playing since 2009
36 to to the blues 😅😭
Best video for tutorial on face off good job, showing the controller when you explain it first and only video I found of it spot on man!
THANK YOU!! Ive recently gone up from Rookie level to Semi-pro and the faceoffs were the only thing that I couldnt do at all. This is the only tutorial that actually helped.
Winning 50% of my faceoffs now thanks to your video. I was winning none before I watched it! Very helpful post. Cheers!
I’m finally winning faceoffs! You’re a hero bro!
The last NHL game I played was the latest one on PS3 and I was great at faceoffs. I got a PS5 recently and was constantly losing faceoffs. They definitely changed it over the years and this saved me. Specifically the part on having the player set and don't switch it around/flinch. Also the rotate, I was just going straight down to 5 or 7 oclock. Had no idea.
I’m glad you showed the perfect timing when they start moving. Definitely helped me understand them better cause this the only part holding me back
Happy it helped!
Holy Guacamole...this video really safed my life as a virtual NHL player. Thank you
Glad it helped!
I wanted to say thank you bro I saw your video and it help me to win face off and to start enjoying the game now
Happy to help. Glad you are enjoying the game more!
Thank you for this video. The other one flew right over my head
Also don't forget the deke faceoff. It's L1 and R3 up. That should cover all nhl 24 coaching suggestions
Thank you very much. This was the 4th vid i have watched on faceoff and none of the 3 helped at all just jibberish. After watching this one i went from from winning 1 maybe 2 faceoffs a game to half or better.
Please more videos about this and how to use each strategy and if possible what each setting does and what to use to counter certain settings, sorry if noob questions
No reason to be sorry! Everyone starts somewhere!
Thank you so much
So glad to see this! I think most tutorial videos are made by experts who are kind of condescending and just assume everyone's a former player or coach. I don't know the difference between forehand and backhand grip.... and frankly I don't care. So many of us just want to pick up the game once every few weeks and have a nice casual game. And I swear EA purposely made the faceoff much harder. I remember the good old days when you could do faceoffs as simply as a well-timed pull back on the right stick. They've forced us now to all this forehand, backhand, stick lift stuff that I don't understand (and don't really care to). You don't want it to be just button mashing either but there should be a simpler way to do this.In previous versions I would set difficulty 15-25 and if I really worked hard I could manage close to 50%. Now I set it at zero and still lose every single time.
Best tutorial I’ve ever seen
I’m glad it helped. Thank you for watching!
Thank you 🙏
By the way, do the controls work on every difficulty mode? I am currently learning it on Semi-Pro, but I do not know which options to select in the Quick Settings section.
I seriously need help with faceoffs. I literally win like 3 a game. In past NHL games I've always been about even with the ai. Is there a practice mode for faceoffs? I can't find one in the menus.
Sadly the last time they’ve had a tutorial mode was nhl 21. + I can’t even win faceoffs on semi pro!
Since when did faceoffs get so difficult that u need to watch a tutorial to win one nhl 24 is garbage anyway i am glad i waited for it to go on sale before i bought it boooo
Omg right. NHL 24 is the worst game ever
Same.
Such b.s.
lol thank god I’m not alone in that. Just bought it on sale. Havnt had one in a decent while. Like nhl 16. Why do the older ones like 12 and 14 and shit feel so much more fluid. These feel horrible. Don’t like the passing stick controls on some settings feel bad. And penalty’s are ridiculous in this
@dylanpartridge6959 I had to turn penalties off they were making lose games getting penalty after penalty playing best part of the game down two players 5 on 3 haha brutal
This video will get a boost in views. With the game coming out on EA play. Most newbies just pull back on the stick at the drop. Instead of Rotating back.
It is physically impossible to win face offs in this game
Edit: after watching this video a few times and trying a few more times, my point still stands. 😢
Dude the game says good timing and I always lose. I win games 2-0 2-1 and 20 faceoffs lost. It's pathetic.

Question to win a face-off,do you hold the right stick at what point to win.
Does this still work the same way with "Broadcast" view?
I can’t play anything above Semi-Pro, even when I hold the grip it says I’m not holding the grip and I lose every single faceoff. Is there something I’m missing
Same its so annoying
Right stick only, hold to the left or right and before the referee throws the puck, use the stick in a downward circular motion. and the face off is won
@@jangrygarcik9635that doesn’t work either for me at least
EA gets a total FAIL on the lack of tutorials on NHL 24. I wish it was EA forced to watch this video
Agreed. It's utter BS
Intro 0:00
Backhand 1:16
Forehand 2:12
Aiming 2:33
Backhand stick lift 3:35
Forehand stick lift 6:03
Tie up 6:46
Recognizing opposition 7:35
Is there any reason why they don't let you just practice faceoffs? I feel like there was an NHL game in the past that would let you practice just faceoffs. I feel like if they're going to just have rubberband AI for the higher difficulties to save time on production then they should have all the time in the world to put in a slightly better training so you can practice.
Just wondering do they ever think about changing this back to normal?
How do you shoot from the faceoff? Really not digging this new faceoff controls in 24
Up on the right stick as if you are taking a shot.
i have difficulty set to 0 and i still cant win a single faceoff I'm done with EA NHL
I genuinely don’t even get how EA has the licensing rn… it’s literally the same exact game just worse lmaooo
What does not holding grip mean?
Thanks
No problem, hope you enjoy the Hollidays!
Someone tell me how to hold the grip
Whats ur face-off % in EASHL?
May or may not be around 68%
i play more than 20 games and 0 winnig faceoff 0 goals......
I have question for the guy who made this video
My guy.. you messed up the directions so many times lamo I’m trying to learn this is the 3 time you said something like this lol 5:12 and messed up with backhand and forearm so I had to watch it over and over in slow mo to understand
It always tells me losing grip smh
This means you are getting countered. Can’t win every draw but if it happens everytime…watch how they win. If they win backhand straight back…tie them up…forehand straight back…stick lift them
30,000 views.. can't find 5 players to play with online
It’s easier to take the time to explain things without focusing on playing humans and the ability to pause. 70% that’s my rating online on eashl, if that makes you feel any better
Why can’t we just press a button! Just make it easy 🤦♂️ this was the reason why I stopped playing NBA 2K…. Atleast Madden is still kinda easy
None of this helped
@PRO_EDITZ.99 same
I cant win bully😡
Bro you say something then your diagram doesn't make sense
This is bull shit. No matter how many times I tried, it still does not fucking work. Great fucking job EA.
Wtf makes a video for lefties
a tutorial vid for faceoffs… insanely stupid
This is so stupid they’ve made sports game require actual skill.
Nothing but yapping. Thanks for nothing
Could you go 2 sentences without stuttering?
Ur name Is Ethan Bro lmao.... Embarrassing
@@deepinmythots1702imagine talking shit when your name is Ethan
Thats fuckin rude
Ethan prlly vaping with that broccli cut and cant get anything better than a D-
Don’t be mad you still can’t win a face off
Thank you so much
