Nice work with the challenge! Leandro laid the Umeshu challenge down for me ages ago and I’m yet to do it... I made the call and started taking notes of my ideas for 2 hours before discovering you best me to it 🤣 Great job by the way, sounds intriguing!
Steve the Bartender aaaah there’s plenty of Umeshu cocktails out there! Steve the challenge stands! Let’s get these challenge videos bopping back and forth between the three of us!
The Educated Barfly I like it! And who’s down that we all get together for a video in the city of the first one who gets 1Million subs? I’m drastically behind but it’s ok, I’m not afraid of jumping on a plane ;)
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks the race is on!! haha.. Already filmed my Umeshu cocktail... uploading tonight! Interesting product to work with.. never tried it before.
The misso and nori sheet made the whole difference! I was struggling to find a way where umeshu's flavor really appears and I am very happy with the result. I also replaced the lemons with grapefruits and it was very good too :)
I’m very intrigued by this one. The introduction of a new (to me) liqueur plus the complex flavors of the nori and the touch of miso paste will be an excellent pre-dinner cocktail before sushi. Can’t wait to try this on my family. Thanks, JF.
Miso and nori intrigued me before but really cant bundle them, thanks for this video, i will definitely try it again with plum... Love your videos, neat, easy to follow, very clear
I've tried your cocktail and tastes really good. It is smooth still has a lot of flavors. I used "Roku" gin instead of the over proof "Nikka" gin, still tastes great. Thanks for sharing mate.
What a fabulous creation!! And it gave me a chance to try the NIKKA Gin which I love. Beautifully citrus forward although it has a dryness I need in Gin! Thanks so much. Love your videos. They are wonderful and so creative!
Sounds AWESOME and I believe you achieved the goal!!! BUT Damn I have (and can only find) Sochu base Ume Shu. I will try this cocktail, I have over proof citrus gin, nori and miso. I think I could add a rinse/spray of sake to give the aroma to get closer. I will let you know via instagram how it turns out. Can't wait to see what Leandro thinks!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks tryed in this evening and it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a wile, once this pandemic is over, I plan to feature it at my next dinner party
Love this challenge! Looks really good, but i don't know where i can buy Umeshu here in Quebec... On another note, i was wondering what your thoughts where on the new Classic Perfected cocktails? Will they be popular? Is it a good premise to have the same cocktails around the world or is it better to have a distinct cocktail menu in every hotel? Which one is your favourite? Thank you for the video and inspiration, can't wait to see what you have for us next friday!:)
As I say if you are willing to share a case with friends, L'eau et le riz does private importation sor you can hit them up. Then about the C.P. cocktail program, I think it is a great initiative from Fairmont. Especially in hôtels that don't have any advanced cocktail program. For hôtels who do have an advanced cocktail program, it is just an addition to the offer which I think is cool.
You have a couple of very interesting flavours there. I have never tried Umeshu. Now I want some. I think you did a great job on this challenge. I think Leandro might be hard pressed.
Nice video man, beautiful and usual! :D Also, as there's NO WAY i'll find Umeshu on my country, can i just use regular Sake or do they taste very different? i have a sake bottle in here that to be honest i havent been able to do anything with it, other than taking a sip from time to time.
@@javisvperez HAHA!!! And if you feel like doing DIY, you could even try to do a sous-vide plum infusion with your Sake. Would be closer ;) If you do it, I would also add a little bit of sugar and neutral grain spirit to boost the ABV slightly. You could make it even better that way ;)
What do you guys think? Did this fulfilled the challenge from Leandro?
100%! I like the inclusion of the nori :)
My wife is waiting for the taro cocktail

I love the concept and your craftsmanship is fun to watch. I learn so much from bartenders like yourself, Leandro and Greg from How to Drink.

gk pangilinan thank you so much!!! Yeah I know it’s kind of conter intuitive to mix those in a cocktail right?

Hi Jean Felix, I am looking all over the internet for the Shiso-Umeshu. Cannot find it anywhere online. Any suggestions?

At some time please give leandro a challenge back😃it is so intriguing🤯😍
Fun Space it actually started by a challenge à gave him. Look “bounty law sour” on his channel. I also tried it last week in my channel
I wanna try this!
What kind of miso did you use or does it matter?
Shawn Hanf it was a mixted miso paste (red and white)
Love your shaker😊 link pls

@@TrufflesOnTheRocks haha wow! that sounds pro! but wait, can you sous-vide alcohol? wont it evaporate or something? that's definitely pro!
Javis V. Pérez that’s the beauty of using sous-vide, everything stays in the bag. No evaporation.
