I really like your tutorials. Short, clear and right to the points. I have been watching tons on photography tutorials online but lots of them run for 20 mins or more without making any points. Thank you
When shooting shadows I prefer a nice crisp low grain film like Ilford FP4 125, but shooting in a shadow I like more grain and a higher ISO to enable me to shoot so I use HP5 400. I love shadows, but I think they work so much better with film than digital even though you can't open the shadows up in post like you can with digital. Loved your images as always, but not any notification of a new video from you in a long time.
Hey Mark...I love it when someone is a film user. Good on you sir. It's a lot of fun both ways. If you haven't been notified of new videos you may have to subscribe again. I understand there's a glitch that sometimes unsubscribes people. I've put out 16 videos since this one. Have a great day film photography day Mark!
That was outstanding! I'm a photographer struggling to get past some old cliches. This was very motivating. Thanks a bunch. By the way, you shot some great examples.
Thank you Michael. By the way, you made my day because when someone tells me they've been motivated or inspired I feel like my "job" is done. Most photographers struggle with motivation from time to time so it's great to hear you feel like getting "out there" and trying new things.
Excellent pictures and your story behind it. Really appreciate. I would like to from you that what is the best method of doing BW photography - we take pictures in BW mode of the camera or we take the pictures in color as usual and then we convert to BW in post processing. Regards.
Thanks for the kind words. I always shoot in RAW mode so what I sometimes do is change my camera to b&w so that I can get an idea what it will look like in monochrome...it shows as b&w on the LCD...but when I bring it into Lightroom for processing it is still in color. At that point I will then convert it to b&w. Remember, if you shoot jpeg’s and are in b&w mode on your camera, your images will be in b&w and you will lose your color information. Hope that helps and have a wonderful day.
Thanks Ray I love your work, very thought provoking
