Also, they've put わ in the "I" column and を in the "U" column. What's with that?
There are several factors in teaching yourself to understand Japanese . One resource I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Fergs magic blueprint (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible treatment that I have ever found. Look at all the extraordinary info .
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
This was very helpful. When she was explaining the pitch accent, I couldn't help but think "It's leviOsa, not levioSA" from Harry Potter XD
Robin Johnson
I think Hermione was trying to say it's not LevioSAR lol. Because the British accent removes the R. When they stress the SA it's like they're adding an R or something.
Huh interesting....
Robin Johnson 😂😂
hahaha that's awesome :D
It's kinda similar, except English is a stress-accent language, so the difference in leviosa is a stress difference, not a pitch difference. Japanese is a pitch-accent language, so what differs is the pitch, not stress. Different, but to our English ears, it's very similar.
Not even gonna deny it, her hair is fabulous. Another very stunning host.
Kinda reminds me of the manager from haikyuu
boku no pico
She does!
@@daveshusband2606 ah yes! Kiyoko-san? They do look very similar haha^^
u sure shes not josuke?
I never thought being raised in mexico would help me pronounce japanese, i swear the vowels sound exactly the same in spanish
I KNOW! i started learning japanese recently and i began with hiragana and i was thinking that i was lucky to grow up with spanish being my first language cause it made my pronunciation more accurate for example (as the lady in the video said) the r- sounds or also others like ご , etc.
I knoww, I speak Portuguese and these is so helpful
yess, same for brazil
YES I heard this many years ago that Spanish and Japanese have a lot of similarities! My old Japanese manager lived in Bolivia for only about a year so he's quite fluent in Spanish, but even though he's been in America for probably 3+ years now his English is still pretty bad. Go figure! Now I kind of wish I took Spanish in high school to help with my Japanese pronunciation lol
I guess it’s English that is weird? For most of us, it’s just A I U E O. But in English, it’s somehow become Ei, Ai, Yu, I, O while pronounciated completely different when they’re integrated into words.
She was my speech class teacher at college!!
OMG
"Japanese doesn't have stress..."
Hmmmmm...
I got that.
Lol
Jojo anime is not a good example.
I mean... it doesn’t lol. It has pitch.
ありがとう!!
I can actually read this
I read this as a-ri-ga-u 😂😂😂

Seeing an image of what's supposed to happen inside my mouth is very helpful thank you

It's very hard for Japanese to learn English pronunciation...
いそっぷ I feel sorry for you it’s really easy if you know English or watch anime 😂
I am an english learner, and now i have big trouble with japanese pronunciatoon now.
All that depends on your first language
If your first language is hard (Russian, French, Serbian, Chienese etc.) and have a lot of words then other pronunciations will be easy
its all in the vowels my friend
exactly
I’m a Japanese. I think this video is very helpful for japanese leaners.
omg! so she is Michelle Yamamoto ! from NHK world learn Japanese app ! I finally get to see her face.
bam taehyung Nice Jihyo profile pic 😆
that explains the overly professional way to talk.
haru haru same reaction 😁😂
I couldn't stop thinking "she sounds just like herself"😂
Well I'm gonna keep repeating all of these till I have it down. I don't wanna mess up by accident. Thanks for all these usefull videos~
Omg, the actual picture of where to place the tongue for the "r" sound...plus 1000.
This is really helpful. Thank you. I really appreciate for your efforts
Wow! Michelle speaks English REALLY well! Well presented -- really well! Thank you!
It was really good to learn the basics correctly.
After carefully listening to many Japanese teaching videos, I think there's one thing that Japanese teachers don't usually explicitly teach is that some Japanese characters, when spoken, behave like English, i.e., their pronunciation will be linked together to form a singly continuous sound. Like the word blue, in Japanese, you don't separately say "a", then "o", but "ao" together. We Chinese need to know this because in Chinese, one single word makes an explicit sound that's not linked with other words, and initially I thought Japanese is like this. However, after battling through many Japanese videos, I've now found that Japanese spelling is in fact partly similar to English.

@ピーター 😭
Most of the time my prononciation is fine but when I'm reading in Japanese out loud I'm like a 1st grader learning to read and a laptop with 2 fps combined
I like your username!!! I have a similar issue with english 😂
Michelle - this was so helpful for me to understand pronunciation when I teach Japanese students English. I appreciate your
kind demeanor, which I want to emulate. Thank you.
"Only 5 vowels" yeah that get dropped half the time
Thank you Michelle!! Loved the presentation
This was very helpful, thank you! Also your editing and text effects in your recent videos has been fantastic! Please keep up the great work!!
Your English is so good u can even hide most of your accent when I talk in Japanese my American accent alway gets in the way I’m getting better at it

Ma'am it was an amazing and helpful guide💖💖💖 Really AMAZING💗💗💗 ARIGATO SENSEI🥰🥰🥰

Some missing things. How to pronounce the syllables with “y” sound like “Ryo”. English speakers often pronounce as “riyo”. Also, pronouncing “ん” and “n” is different. When using pronouncing “ん” it is also counted as same timing with other hiragana. the length “San” when pronounce in english and Japanese is different. さん is two mora while san is one syllable.
I find oriental east asian(excluding vietnamese)pronunciation pretty easy cause there are no stresses and they are pronunced as written.
This is why I love Japanese, it makes logical sense!
The second lesson contradicts lesson one because not all japanese characters are spoken, some are simply for prolonging the previous sound, and some are for combination with the previous characters to produce one single sound
Guess all the anime has paid off lol. I got 7:34 right XD
Michelle is badass! Thank you!
Why badass?
Honestly and with respect ,She will look vey much beautiful and cute in indean traditional dresses with other accessories .
Woah holy crap it’s helpful
This helps.
For an Italian native as me, Japanese is like so easy to pronunce, the problem is learning Kanji and kana...
Yeah, just learn the common kanji. I’m sure there is a standard list of kanji you need to know that is used in everyday Japanese language. You don’t need to know all of the kanji characters.
Same as German
2:19 *G U N D H A M T A N A K A*
切手 (きって) vs. きて (来て) (te-form of くる (来る))
括弧 (かっこ) vs. 過去 (かこ)
7:20 - nice
ありがと
Its ありがとう
A Random Language Nerdごめなさい is this correct?
@@renasmr7464 it should be ごめんなさい
It’s ありがとうさぎ。
firs what I learn that the teacher is very beautiful
Very helpful. Thank you very much!! So how can we explain this to English speakers if we don't speak English like you do??? (show this video???)
Yes, please do so you can actually understand us properly when we try and speak Japanese
Japanese overall has a very similar pronunciation to most romantic languages, like Spanish and Italian. Obviously with some changes.
It also gas a lot similar with German
The わ and を Kana at 1:09 are in the wrong rows. Just a heads up.
They are asian they cant get somthing wrong
RedSkull Animatons lmao
Yeah, the wa and wo are misplaced. but it's irrelevant if you can read it either way.
@@mikoartz5006 That is stereotypical
@@roadkillcon sorry alien that is what we humans call. A joke
Where can i see the rest of this series please?
Pronouncing japanese words is super easy for us Greeks.
Arigato 🥰
Anyone got any resources for learning high and low pitch of Japanese pronunciation?
Dogen
can you give me the first piece of music ? It's sound good.
4:01 LMAO! Idk I think a better reason personally. XD
This woman has perfect skin. I wish she would explain her product and care routine.
It is a UA-cam video. Good lighting does a lot for you plus you can put a filter on the video that smoothes your skin out naturally. Also don't forget there is makeup. What is furthermore important is good genetics. You can have beautiful skin but have a terrible skincare.
But what you can do is:
sensitive cleansing oil/gel/balm (no alcohol or parfume), sensitive cream (no parfume or alcohol) and SPF 30 or 50 (no parfume, in this case you can tolerate a little alcohol). That's a basic routine.
You can add niacinamide, azealic acid, retinol/al, retinoids, ceramides, chemical peeling (AHA, BHA, PHA) attention a SPF is mandatory when using chemical peelings!
If you need good tips you can follow for example Dr. Dray on UA-cam and Instagram.
If you have questions you can also ask me 😊
i love the name yamamoto
How can I recognise if つ is for break or for the sound tsu?
The つ that makes a break is smaller than the "normal" つ . It's called ちいさいつ (chi i sa i tsu, literally "small tsu")
@@parzival5692 thank you 🌸
You are so beautiful , omG mashaaAllah , and your smile too , God bless you

I recently purchased the book Genius pub. by Taishukan. But the Japanese English dictionary gives no clue the pronunciation of the hiragana Katakana. Am I over my head with this wonderful book.
What about the tricky to pronounce word 現れる, the base word? I keep getting my r's and w's in the wrong place when saying these words.
