If there was ever something like the FBI of tracking guitar tones, they would probably hire Shawn as the chief inspector :) Regards!
Haha, you're very kind indeed! Thanks so much.
Someone at the gig says “Play Crossfire!” and you have these tones, and play it well, no one’s bitchin’ lol.
I would be interested in the D20 but I see that it is always set with the volume high.
This is fine for direct sound, but if I just want to use it with a cab in my bedroom?
I know that amp like the back of my hand. If you want to run it at "bedroom" volume, utilize the "pull gain" and run it at around noon. The master volume is excellent so you can get to a volume level that will work.
@@ShawnTubbsShawn , so that Iron man attenuator isn’t being used here ?
@@benallmark9671 No you are actually hearing the D20 direct via the XLR out on the back. I'm using the Two Notes embedded reactive load and software.
@@ShawnTubbs gotcha. Thanks for the response Shawn. I have the amp and plan on getting your tilt pedal soon. I can’t wait. They sound amazing together.
@@benallmark9671 Awesome!! Thanks so much!
I would have reached over to the D20 and turned the mids up....but that's just me.
I agree. I was trying to keep the a bit more "static" or "neutral" in this case. Thanks for watching!
@@ShawnTubbs Haha! I know you were concentrating on the pedal sir, What's the squiggle before your signature on the Tilt?
@@joesaxon6566 "m".
Sounds SRV 'ish to me
Agreed. Thanks so much for watching and for chiming in!
Nothing like it whatsoever. Too scratchy, not enough bottom end, not smooth enough, too raspy, too dirty.
Thanks for watching. I took a swing at it but I appreciate you watching and commenting.
@@ShawnTubbs thanks Shawn. I appreciate you acknowledging my opinion. I'm a big fan of your demos and amazing playing, but I listen to a lot of SRV from all of his evolving style and tone. I think a lot of people seem to miss how clean he mostly played. A lot of folk talk about his big strings but that's only half the equation, he also had ridiculously high action which let his notes be very dynamic and sustain in a very natural way. He didn't need a lot of compression or distortion. Anyhow, I'm sure you know that already
@@jupitermoongauge4055 He was brilliant.
I am not one to buy signature gear but I got this on special and wow... do not regret !! this pedal is just crazy good !! you'd be nuts not to pick it up !!
Wow!! Thanks so much! Glad you're happy with it!!
I haven’t chased SRV tone specifically but using the Tilt with a Tube Screamer has garnered some fantastic blues tones. Along with the great ones achievable with just the Tilt it's fun to push it with the mid focused voice of the screamer.
I would think you could get some nice harmonic saturation with your TS!
@@ShawnTubbs I'm using my Tilt with the Noble Screamer ATM in a hybrid mode ODR drive and TS eq. It's a pleasure to play, thanks again for making the Tilt so awesome!
Stevie time!
I'll never play like SRV..
@@ShawnTubbs closer than I’ll ever get. You play like you, it seems to be working for ya. 👍🏽🤘🏽
Shawn that is super super close! Awesome job.
Thanks very much! I took a swing at it.
It really isn't.
@@jupitermoongauge4055 Thanks again for the comment.
@ShawnTubbs I have your tilt overdrivevand it's an amazing pedal.I think while we all have our own sound, feel and how we do things. I tried this once and while I don't have Stevies fingers, I found another key to his tone was shear volume, air moving, lots of clean sustain which I reckon you got to. Not quite clean but not dirty either, then hitting the front end of the amp with OD.
@@marcpaola1371 That's a factor for sure!
