Thanks bruh!! We learn new things everyday!! See I was doing this BUT I was not opening up the MPC software to make sure it was in there correctly first!! You made sure it was there, then TRANSFERRED the kit from there to the Retro!!! I was bypassing the software altogether!! It would show up on the SD card, but you couldn't SEE it when you hit EXPANSIONS on the Retro!! See, see, 😆🤣😂!! You learn something new everyday!! Thanks bruh!!👊🏾💯
Thanks bro! Yeah if it’s mpc one u don’t need to put the mpc in controller mode. Just place the sd card in your computer, andexport the expansion pack to your sd card. It worked for me. Thanks hommie!

Exporting the expansions had me stuck, but this vid helped me out. I'd installed a drive inside of the MPC Live II, so I didn't need to use an SD card; this is the part that was confusing. When selecting which drive to export to, just select the proper one. I've still got some things to sort out, but again this helped out a lot. Thanks.

Isn't it a better idea to install your expansions on an external or separate drive than your system drive? Does the software allow that cus that's basically what happens with the standalone units. I haven't seen anyone talk about install on separate drive. kinda like how native instruments allow you to install the plug ins anywhere you choose, especially if you happen to have a ton of expansions.

The SD Card slot gets read nowadays from the USB on MPC One :D Sadly, the USB doesn't get read yet so I pop that into the computer. But hey, we're halfway there ^^

hello, I have an MPC live and my question is: can I install somehow the expansions without having the iMPC software intalled on my laptop? Can I take the .exe file on an SD card and just plug the card into the MPC?
i downloaded my expanision and then i unzip and then i install on mac and cant find the file after that and after completing the install it doesnt show in the mpc app ive tried extracting it many times and with different folders and it never shows the expansion with the 16 pad mpc logo like it did when you dragged the icon to your desktop i cant get it to look like that. What am i doing wrong lol

Hi Ave. Thanks for all your amazing informative videos. Question: When installing an expansion on the MPC software, does it automatically install it on the C: drive? Can I install the expansion on a different hard drive? Or move it from the C: drive to the other hard drive?
I am also curious about this. My C drive is pretty much maxed out as it is, but I have 3 other drives I would rather install it to..... guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to change the path for file access
@@RonaldMark I ended up just temporarily clearing some space on my c drive. You can move your stuff all to another drive, delete it, then install all the packs on your c drive, load em into your MPC and then delete the unpacked stuff from your c drive if you want and move the old stuff back. Kinda inconvenient, but I got everything loaded into my MPC now so, I ain't mad.
Thx for the video, just wondering, have you tried porting your Maschine expansions to the MPC with Kit Maker ? What do you think of the experience with them if you did ? I know anything other than the samples won’t convert, but I believe it may be worth it for someone who has both Maschine and MPC as the NI expansions are pretty high quality sounds.

what up Ave! dummy question...i have a pretty stacked studio space with cords and cables at times getting switched around. i have an mpc one as more of a portable idea tool for the couch or outside (via omni+20 ac adapter battery) my question is if i maybe mixed up where my mpc one usb cable is does it hinder some of the features such as this. ive had a bit of trouble getting expansions to the mpc one standalone, however, i havent tried with this complete tutorial step by step. thanks for the help and keep up the good material.

How To Install MPC Expansion Packs on a different Volume like d or e. What if i dont want to install on C?
