This song is heartbreaking but very meaningful...it's so sad how young people struggle even today when things should be better. X Japan is also a metal band/visual kei band that used an orchestra often, after all, Yoshiki is an amazing composer who writes the music for all the instruments. One Ok Rock is an incredible band that speaks of many important topics of today. LOVE THEM!!!
Exactly man. For me, one ok rock's music made me feel better. There are a lot of songs that say the same line but the music they released hits way harder with the message never being clearer. Thanks for the vid as always!
What you just said about the black sheep...I`m the same. You are right, we are not alone in the world, One Ok Rock is one of those bands that can help us reunite, i went to their concert in Orlano florida, I`m from Chile but waiting in the line i met Min (a chinese guy), two super fun brothers from tampa and two new friends from florida (dani and tobie) and it was as we knew each other just because OOR made us reunite. That`s why i love rock music so much, i found my people in those places. In that moment I though "i`m not alone, there`s more people like me in the world" so yes...happy too be part of the black sheep herd.🤘🤩
This song and performance is one of my favorites!! I'm so glad you reacted to this, thank you~~ And I hope you keep reacting to ONE OK ROCK! They really saved my life when I was in high school back in 2012
The thing about One OK Rock is that they touch all of us in deep ways. We all feel like outcasts but look at the crowds! Are we really that different? Being genuine is key. FABULOUS song! I love that there's a harp in there too. I always wanted to learn and play the harp.
Fantastic choice! I feel the lyrics to the song so much as well… We are who we are, and props to you for staying who you are no matter what! 👊 Taka does such a great job at writing songs to inspire. Great to see you doing another One OK Rock reaction! Would love to see more… For us rock and metal heads maybe something hard and heavy like the song “Deeper Deeper” at Mighty Long Fall at Yokohama stadium. 🤘🤘
I saw this song live on the third of dec and while it wasnt the orchestra version obviously its still so fun and amazing live and taka singing live is everything
That's a sub straight away! Love your reactions and reflections. And absolutely love this song and the lyrics. Like you say: the more that you're true to yourself, the more you start meeting people of your own tribe. And magic happens...
The other aspect of this song that I absolutely love and relate to is the conflicting messages society always gives us. It tells you that being unique is good while telling you conform - "Be you. dress right/Stand out, fit in" - just the constant feeling that whatever you do is wrong. Personally really related to this as a non-white person of trying to be proud of your own culture and heritage but also being pushed to assimilate. In the end, you end up not belonging on either side because you're not "enough" of one or the other.
Thanks for this reaction. TAKA(Vo) is a really talented singer. More OOR please! ●The beginning ●Mighty Long Fall ●Save yourself ●ONE by ONE(Live 2015 tour 35xxxv ) ●Renegades ●Vandalize ●No scared ●Liar ●Heartache(studio jam session) ●Neon ●I was king (official video from orchestra japan tour) Please check this out?
Also, most of their old stuff deserves attention too! Like: smiling down, ending story??, the beginning, juvenile, pierce, c.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h., living dolls, one way ticket, memories, 69, cry out, .........
This band saved my life! Been a fan for 10years and recently learnt I was Autistic. I loved this song because of how close it hit home originally, but now, knowing I am autistic, it hits in a completely different meaning. Honestly, I could never thank this band enough and I love watching your reactions because it just feels so genuine. To see someone appreciate them for them, is amazing!!
I've never fit into any friend group and all my friends have groups and then they have me 😅 Now that i'm in my mid-30's i'm ok being different and my true friends love me even with my kpop/jpop/kdrama monologs haha. Be yourself and eventually you'll learn that that's not a bad thing 💜
In Japan there's an incredible societal pressure on the kids to be exceptional, but at the same time uniformity and not standing out (in a bad way) is very important as well. Still, it's incredible how Taka managed to make the song the way that it can apply to anyone in any country. All of OOR's songs are almost painfully relatable and I love them for that!
I love them so much and they are so phenomenal live. You should also check out FTIsland(Korean Rock Band) specifically Wind and Pray. They have a somewhat similar vibe to OneOkRock
You should defintley listen to the live mix of ending story and the live mix of the beggining!!! anazing songs and blends different live performances into one video
Highly recommend you also check out the music video for this song as well. While it doesn't feature the band, it complements the song and its lyrics very well. The official website also has an official video of "I Was King" from this concert. That's another good one👍
One OK Rock is one of my favorite Japanese bands😍😍 I also watched your reaction to Homura by Lisa, loved it, for an anime OST that song is so beautiful. If you're into Japanese rock bands. You should also check out, RADWIMPS they have this song titled IKIJIBIKI feat. Taka (the vocalist of OOR). They also do anime OST and perform with Orchestra.
Just so you know... The band name pronunctiation it's not One Ok (okay) Rock but "ok" without the oder letters cause it came from One O'clock that in japanese it's pronounced "wuan oku roku" (the hour they started practicing) thant creats One Ok Rock. Sorry for my bad english spelling, I'm not native in these language XD
I have to pay more attention to One Ok Rock, apparently. And F fitting in, man. The square pegs are running the world! Our entire country was built to celebrate the odd. I'm an old guy with long hair, and I've broken so many norms I can't remember most of them. There's no speed limit on life. Be you.
There is another Japanese group you should check out and they are Namba69. They have a several amazing song that have a similar message to Stand Out Fit In, which is my favorite One Ok Rock song. Dreamin' being my personal favorite Namba69 song.
Because there are too many talented people in the world of music, sometimes we often miss it. Here I recommend Dimas Senopati for you. In my opinion, he has an enchanting voice ua-cam.com/video/TvNf-YrAmh8/v-deo.html
@@k_tin7083 Let me correct you, as there seems to be a misunderstanding and I may not have expressed myself well enough. Sexuality is not the subject of what I am saying. The main subject is saying that I am genuinely curious as to why there are not as many uploads by girls as there are for other male groups. Homosexuality is just one hypothesis among many that I mentioned.
@@aburakadabura2 Ok i get what you mean by that. The homosexuality thing just felt out of place to me. I dunno i guess i interpreted your comment differently from what you meant
claiming to know Taka's sexuality is a weird thing to do unless he told you personally and why does is matter who uploads videos of him? Do you have statistics that men are the majority? Maybe it's just your algorithm that shows you just the videos of men reacting to him.
@@empty_akuma6577 I have viewed many videos of this type without any preconceptions, and I am simply stating my impression of them. Nothing more, nothing less. I have only honestly stated the impressions I had.
“I Was King” is by far my favorite orchestra performance. You should totally check it out. The strings are AMAZING
Me too. That’s my fave live. 😊

I was there too.
Such an amazing show and a great crowd.
Japanese band crowds seem so nice.
The crowd when I saw Band-Maid in DC was great also.
This song and performance is one of my favorites!! I'm so glad you reacted to this, thank you~~ And I hope you keep reacting to ONE OK ROCK! They really saved my life when I was in high school back in 2012
