    • @gost
      @gost 19 днів тому

      First, GPS tech appeared to be a kid's toy when you are in war with someone more than desert tribe. Most of the modern western military tech became useless. Ukraine has to do enormous job of destroying Russian GPS jamming stations before using those western wonderweapons. Otherwise it flies nowhere. Second, the quantity of those western weapons is ten's times less than Russia has. For example, Russia used 1 thousand ballistic missiles in 6 months, but to produce the same amount of Patriot missiles (for air defense) you need THREE YEARS. Simple math reveals that the whole NATO cannot compete with Russia in military production. And more important, western nations do not want to compete with Russia and vote to reduce help for Ukraine.

    NATO is a defensive organisation, they have no business in Ukraina. Supplying weapon to Ukraina is a totally other business. Russia have been selling guns all over the world for years and years and nobody blamed them for what their guns was used for. So complaining about that is no more then bs. There is a very simple solution.. bring russian troops back home and leave Ukraine alone. That will save a lot of lives and a lot of money.

    "There will always be the need for human soldiers, sailors, airman, ..." right when he said this, I could not help but think: "Humans are needed as targets". This is so dark. I, for one, always suspected that once you have a weapon, worth any €$, operating in a human in the loop manner, you would always have, if only as a contingency, a human out of the look mode. This is problematic on so many levels.

    Why would Ukraine believe NATO would protect their borders when Russia, UK and USA did not protect the borders in exchange for giving up their nukes 3 decades ago? The US and UK did not protect the borders when Russia invaded Crimea. And when Russia again invaded, we gave them weapons that could be used only defensively and within the Ukrainian borders. No attacking the source of attacks coming from Russia or the supply lines in Russia. If Ukraine loses territory, we are to blame. Not as much as Russia of course.

Surely there will be collateral damage but that is inevitable in any war. In Iraq we lost a few Abraham's and they were shot by friendly fire so it's not like humans do a much better job at not shooting their own in the fog of war.

    What ever the experts are saying about replacing troops, might be true. however we should also consider the massive effects on the economy, not having enough workers to even support the war effort or even anything else, and the fighting force required, as Gen. Hodges pointed out. Win the war and have a demolished economy and population.

    The A10 would have maybe made a bigger difference at the start of the war although back then they where saying they where vulnerable due to slow speed against Russia fighters but I think the opportunity has been missed now and it's right that the ground to air missiles now would make them an easy target...

    A-10's obsolete???
    Then without a doubt, helicopters are obsolete. Far slower then an A-10 with practically zero armor.
    Armored personnel carriers and tanks are also obsolete.
    Fact. It's all about how you deploy the equipment.
    And as to A-10's.
    The U.S. doesn't have a lot of them that's operational. Those in reserve would take a long time to be brought up to operational use.
    And yes, early on, Ukraine did ask about them. And likely recieved the above answer. Fact. Ukraine does use the ruZZian variant of the A-10 under certain circumstances(properly utilized). However it's a far cry from an A-10.

    re: A-10 helicopters are even more vulnerable to manpads. A10 is twice the speed of the fastest helicopter, and can go very slowly for certain missions. It seems to me that if you don't need to evacuate troops or transport anything, ie, strictly attack missions, the A10 is a better choice than helicopters for attack missions.

    Here is your short Japanese lesson. 絵文字 "e" is a graphic symbol or a picture, "moji" is a character. 神風 "kami" is devine or god. "kaze" wind. When a huge Mongolian fleet attempted to attack Japan in 13th centruy, a strong typhoon destroyed the enemy vessels.This typhoon was called kamikaze which saved Japan.

    they has a lot of success holding the line with a remote control 50 in a hardened position for days during the russian rabble meat grinder slow take of avdiivka..they thought it was being held by humans until they finally took the position...the only thing is Ukrainians had to sneak into the hardened position to reload the gun i think that was the way they finally took the position it ran out of ammunition.
