- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Join me on an epic 6-day solo canoe trip along the River Spey in Scotland, as I attempt to traverse 123km from Kingussie to Spey Bay. With 5 nights of wild camping and canoeing, I'll take you on a journey through some of Scotland's most beautiful and ancient forests, showcasing dream campsites that await to be discovered.
Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for the incredible wildlife that calls the River Spey home, from salmon swimming upstream to spawn, to majestic deer, herons, and even the endangered freshwater pearl mussel.
Fighting the elements of wind and rain, and navigating whitewater rapids and fallen trees, will be part of the challenge. But with both my trusty hammock and tent, I'll take advantage of the stunning landscape and find the perfect spots to set up camp.
I hope you'll join me on this truly epic adventure, as we traverse the River Spey and explore Scotland's natural beauty. From the thrill of whitewater rapids to the peace of ancient forests, this journey has something for everyone. So sit back, relax, and let's begin!
Please drop me a comment!
If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them!
Adventure awaits,
Eze

Really appreciate you being honest in the video in the mistakes you made, makes the whole video better as you could have easily edited them out. Makes the whole video more genuine and enjoyable. Only came across your channel yesterday and am really enjoying your content. Thanks for taking the time to document your journeys. Scotland is a wonderful place.
Hi mate! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, thank you. Your feedback is also very useful, I do try to keep it as real as possible, happy to share my mistakes! The more mistakes we make, the better we’ll be! Stay tuned for many more mistakes to come!!! Scotland is wonderful indeed 👊
Such a good video and what an amazing trip. That drone shot through the trees is sooo good. Also those camping spots look incredible.
Aaah glad you liked it buddy!!! Really was an amazing trip! Looking forward to many more maybe we can join forces on one together sometime bud! Good to get back in touch bro xx
What an epic journey. I like that you showed the accidents and incidents as well as the good events, it gives the viewer an honest impression. Thank you for tidying up the mess you came across too, Stella can, traffic cone etc, that’s very respectful. Subbed your channel.
Thanks big man appreciate that!
Yeah I definitely try to show it as it is as much as possible! If I cut stuff out, it's usually me going on a bit and over explaining haha. Thanks for subbing bud!
@@EzeAdventurer My pleasure brother. 👍🏼
Hi Eze, absolutely loved that mate 👌👌 looked like a quality trip. Was pretty surprised at the size of that Salmon you found! Looking forward to your next adventure buddy, speak soon, Matt 👍🏻
Thanks Matty!! Really was a special trip, only downside it’s now left an even bigger adrenaline / adventure hole to fill… there’s no end in sight 😂… salmon was pretty big I estimate 20-25lbs maybe (record is 65lbs in Spey). Speak soon buddy 👍
My absolute dream to do a trip like this next year, videos are amazing Eze, keep them coming!
Right on brother! Do it, you'll love it!! Thanks for the encouragement my friend, v much appreciated! ATB, Eze.
Loved watching this. Your passion for adventure shines through. Excellent photography and production....subbed 🌊👌
Wow thanks so much Craig!! I really appreciate it that buddy!!
Great trip! The first part of the river remind me a lot of the Thames here in south Ontario right about till you get in to a little more whitewater. Beautiful river full of lessons and what a reward at the end to and up on the ocean! The sound the waves made on the rocks is very neat! Awesome job in picking up all the garbage along the way too👌 Respect!👊
Thanks so much brother!!
Thanks for posting this video. This is the first one I've watched. This is really well made and was a joy to watch. I can't wait to watch some more.
Wow THANKS so much Chris! It's a joy to make it and to share it with you bud. Thanks for the encouragement!
Hi m8 new sub, how did you get your canoe back to the start point looking to do this next year looks awesome
Yo Eze, I’d been wondering about your trip and why I’d not seen it flash up. Had to search my subs and there you were with new name, much better dude 🤟.
Fantastic video, love how you capture nature at it best and worse sadly for the salmon, but I’m sure it had a great life.
Still want to lay my hands on the amok hammock, I will one day.
Your videos are such a wonder to watch and we can all learn a thing or two. Keep them coming and thank you for taking the time 😊
Hi 👋 Anne! Glad you like and found the new name!! Yeah was sad to see that beautiful fish on the river bank but part of the cycle of life I guess. The amok is awesome, such high quality gear - worth waiting for.
Will keep them coming thanks for watching and for your encouragement,
ATB, Eze.
Looks so sweet dude.
Thanks for being part of the LITTER LEGION = better human, better planet.
I do regular beach cleans and litter pickups whenever out. 😃
Good on you mate!!! SUPER FULL POWER!! Thanks for being a positive influence on the world my friend!!! We can turn the tide, even if it seems too late.
Nice video and a new sub here. I do have a few criticisms as someone who lives in the Cairngorms National Park. Firstly those freshwater pearl mussels - it’s illegal to touch or disturb them so holding it up to the camera isn’t cool. Also fires in the national park are banned, I know there are existing fire pits and most of your fires were on islands but it’s probably not something to be promoted or glamorised by people with influence. Pretty much all the ground here is peat and even though the fire can be completely out on the surface the peat can burn for a long time underground and spread to pop up in new locations, there’s numerous wild fires each year started by fires or disposable bbqs lit on peat.
I am a huge fan of all your litter picking though and how you tidied up after your fires, so I’m not bashing you at all, just trying to share some knowledge 👊🏽 safe travels…
Thanks for the video. I'm the definition of slow when it comes to setting up or breaking camp, so I can appreciate the extra time and effort it must take you, with several camera angles and whatnot. You mentioned freshwater mussels, those can be found in all the Nordic countries at least, maybe elsewhere in Northern Europe too.
Hey mate! Slow to break camp ey? We'd get along lol! Yeah it's quite nice when you're alone, cos you can be as sloooooow as you want!
I thought I read somewhere that these freshwater mussels produced PEARLS... and that's what made them unique... maybe not? Either way we should look after them :-)
Thanks for watching the video!
Utterly class viewing as I knew it would be before it started, great editing make a great film, top notch matey thank you for bringing us along on your adventure 😀
Aaah Thanks my friend for the wonderful support - its very much appreciated! So glad you enjoyed it !! its a pleasure sharing adventures with you
Really enjoyed this one Eze! As a fellow Draumr hammock owner, I love to see other people using theres and picking up tips!!! Well done again!!!
Thanks a lot Dave appreciate it! Love my Draumr what a piece of kit that is!
I really enjoyed the trip. Can only imagine how much work went into producing the video but I felt like I was right there with you. Good job!
Thanks so much means a lot to hear that! I’m glad you came along for the ride!!
So far I have watched your Patagonia series, Alquonquin Park, Yukon River, WOW and your appreciation for your surroundings make the videos extra special! 👏👏👏👏. I had a wind experience in BC Canada and I was praying for it too end and you reminded me of that experience when you were under the trees in the hammock praying for the wind to stop and I was right there with you (metaphorically speaking), scary stuff!
Thanks so much for following on so many adventures!! I appreciate it!
I know that feeling, it's very scary!!!
I did the spey with Paul kirtley 2018 .was a fantastic trip .but thay do all the navigation. How was you navigating. Maps GPS ect
Awesome trip mate isn't it? So cool you did it with Paul! I used OS Maps and my phone
Love a good kayak adventure , may I ask where you got those blue barrels , I’ve been chasing a couple for my trips ?
Hey bud, thanks! I got them from Amazon, they are absolutely amazing, love them so much. Links below:
Barrel 30l - amzn.to/3yzXd72
Barrel 60l - amzn.to/3z8kUon
Omg wow I couldn't take my eyes off this video absolutely stunning, beautiful places I came across the river clean up and now this one so had to subscribe awesome. 🤘🤘🏴🏴🏴
Wow thanks Alan I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and subscribe - working on bringing you more content soon!!! Keep adventuring brother
How come you chose to use a single paddle & not a Kayak 2x? As a single traveller, would you not have more control with a 2x?
Possibly ! I just love an open canoe!
Another great vid.Just watched you and your wife somewhere else in Glen Affric. Did well with the wildlife, and decent weather (by Scottish standards). We did the stretch form Aviemore to Grantown a few weeks before you in 20oC.Looks a lot more fun, faster water further down. Had a chuckle at your not going anywhere swim at 13.30 mins. Cheers and thanks for picking up the litter
Thanks Dave, I really appreciate that! Next video out will also be with my wife, we did a gruelling 40km loop in the Lake District - video coming this Tuesday! The Spey is wonderful ins't it? Aviermore to Grantown is a beautiful section. Pleasure re rubbish, it's the least I can do given my own negative contributions to the environment ey? Take care mate
Really enjoyed that trip. Thank you for sharing the lows as well as the highs. Makes me want to get out in my Silverbirch Canoe! All the best. Paul
Glad you enjoyed it mate - that's what it's all about , get out there and have some fun!!
Great video thanks! I’m moving from the English Midlands to the Scottish Highlands next month and I can’t wait!!
Aaah awesome mate, enjoy what the land has to offer!!
Enjoyed the video but the place you launched is pronounced King Yousay . Only other question please what are those zippered wellies called ? Are they insulated ?
Thanks for the clarification! Actually the boots and trousers are separate! The trousers are from Decathlon and the boots are an absolute dream. They are the Muck Boots Arctic Sport.. they ARE insulated, SO SO warm and so comfortable, pricey but can't recommend them enough. Link below:
amzn.to/3QhrkYV
re-watching this great vid again today, nice one Eze!
Which month did you paddle this?
atb
Hey buddy thanks! This was in September I believe!
you are amazing, Love your videos. I see you clean up camp sites as well - I bring more rubbish out than i take in. Keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you! and good on you for doing that! Keep the positivity going!
Congrats Eze, nice trip. Next time u sleep in a storm in the woods , wear your helmet when sleeping. LOL. Cheers from B.C. Canada
OMG that's actually BRILLIANT - I can't believe I didn't think of that!!! Joking aside, it could have saved my life!!!
Thank you for sharing such a great adventure it was really enjoyable i bet you wish you had your fishing rod with you the salmon fishing spots looked awesome!!
Hahah I was glad I didn't actually as I would have been tempted to fish and the fines can be huge there... you need to pay an arm and a leg to fish on the Spey... ! You know how it is..!!
that was a great video, and thank you for clearing up so much litter. I followed a link from When Nature Pauls to find your channel.
Thanks Al, I appreciate that mate! Paul is an awesome guy, I really enjoyed camping with him!
You made laugh. You said, you don't want a damn tree to fall on you. A glacier is okay, but no damn tree falling. Looked like a great trip. Thanks for sharing.
HAHA!! Exactly!! If I'm going, it better be in a cool way 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Had old town canoe . Years ago quite unstable to be honest . Bought a good quality inflatable . Lot better ride . Tbh😅
Thanks for sharing - yeah some inflatables perform so well, I hear you!
It’s illegal to mess with the freshwater pearl mussels…..just for anyone who plans going there.
I was highlighting the issue, trying to bring more awareness to the situation. The whole point is to protect it. But you cannot protect what you don't know. People need to know what is out there for us to even have a chance to protect it.
Beautifull trip, it's really huge !
Did you never have some troubles for camping? I don't know if wild camp is allowed in Scotland but with locals people, landing owners , you never had some troubles about this?
I know in England, some people had some troubles just because they passed in kayak.
Local people cried '' It's not allowed to pass, it's a private waters ''...
It is obvious that as long as you are respectful of the environment and the local population (like a normal person it seems to me...), it makes things much easier but still, problems can happen...
Hi Olivier! Wild camping is allowed in Scotland - beautiful country and friendly law (and people). I’ve had no issues, just don’t camp in private land obviously :-)
In England it’s a bit more tricky and more grey area.
I agree it should be more about the attitude and respect for the environment- that’s the most important thing.
Hope you consider subscribing to join me on my next adventure my friend,
All the best
Eze
Hi Eze,I'm.a guy from Hong Kong and I will go UK around end of Nov this year. I really like your life style and I'm really interested in all activities like you. I hope that I can settle down everything in UK quickly and have a river camping 🏕
Good video 👍👍
Hey Eric, awesome you're coming over and hope you get on the water soon! Some beautiful trips are possible in UK - just watch out for winter temperatures, ensure proper clothing and safety measures to prevent hypothermia! Just prepare well and GO! Much love, Eze.
Great video, It all looks a beautiful place. I might get up there myself sometime with my Kayak.
Yeah you should buddy definitely a good one for kayak 👍
Stumbled across your channel, new sub here 🤟🏻 A little envious, looks the perfect trip... Your braver than I tackling that on your own. all the best.
Thank you Richard I really appreciate that! It’s 90% mental, you can do it. Also there’s no greater fear than that of the unknown. I find I often feel more fear in my bed whilst I’m looking over maps than when I’m actually in the situation itself assessing it in real time. The irony!
Amazing vids…how’d you get back to the van!.?
Hi mate thanks I used highland yaks the company to do the transfer back for me
Hey eze.. what gps tracker you using? Loved this video
Hi mate, it's the Garmin Inreach mini! highly recommended!!
Awesome video dude. 👌 Really enjoyable watch. I've been looking for a multi day canoe and wild camping trip in Scotland, and this has given me real inspiration.
What time of year did you go, and how buggy was it? It looked like they weren't too bad aside from at the end?
Also, how did you manage the drop off and collection back to your car?
Keep up the great work man, I'm now working my way through your other content! 😊
Go for it!! As long as the river levels isn't too high, the spey is manageable and very enjoyable!
I did this in September I think, not buggy at all, even the end bit wasn't much, I was being a sissy.
I used highland yaks for the collection from spey bay to take me back to my car.
Thanks and hope you get on the water real soon matey!
@@EzeAdventurer Ah amazing, thanks for the info dude. :) Highland Yaks look like they offer a great service. Also, really glad to hear that it wasn't too buggy in September. I've tended to avoid trips in Scotland because of the bugs, which is ridiculous really! haha.
Breath taking video, I can learn so much more good stuff from you as a relative beginner. The drone handling is also very good, it provides the video so much more depth. That trip in Scotland is on my bucket list now.
Glad you enjoyed it!! And yeah my experience level before this trip wasn't too high. However, I'd still advise much respect and attention to the river, especially if water levels are anything higher than low/normal.
Definitely one to do, it's a stunner! Thanks for watching !
What a great adventure, Awesome EZE 👍👍
|Thank you!
What an adventure. Paddling those rapids looked such a buzz and catching the salmon leap on video was brilliant . Really enjoyed watching , thanks for sharing .
Mark! Those rapids were awesome!! So glad I was able to catch a bit of the salmon leaping! I filmed the river a lot in 120 frames per second to try and get it in slow motion, which would have been SICK! I caught that one at 40 fps which is why the quality of the shot isn't great, but grateful nonetheless! Thanks for watching my friend
Thankyou for a great video. May I ask how you get back to your car? Do you kayak back?
Shuttle back! There are companies that do it like Highland Yaks
That camp at the 34 kms mark looked perfect!! Great drone shots man!
Thanks so much!! Really was a stunning place!!
this was absolutely fantastic . so well captured and gave us a real insight . well done !!
Thanks brother, glad you liked it and hope it inspires you to get on your own awesome adventure!
This guy is the canoe equivalent of that comedy physics guy who is always electrocuting himself 😂
Hahaha one way to put it I guess 😂
@@EzeAdventurer don’t get me wrong, I love your sense of adventure and wanderlust. But it was clear from the beginning you have very little experience.
1. Paddle grip, position and strokes wrong
2. Position in the boat wrong in almost every shot
3. River reading almost non existent.
The Spey can be a notorious river, if you inspire others with little experience to follow you then someone could lose there life.
This is a wonderfully shot video and you clearly have some amazing cinematography skills but the use of UA-cam comes with responsibility. No offence meant. Hope you can see my point of view 🙏
Thanks so much for your generosity in taking us with you. A superb journey!
You bet buddy my pleasure!!
Nice bud can't wait for an adventure this year
Go get it buddy!
Hey man - taking the trip this weekend. Is your second campsite here just after B-O-G? Keep the videos coming - Inspirational!
Hey buddy hope you have an amazing trip! I don't exactly remember the sites as I was playing it all by ear, but you'll know for sure when you pass them, you can't miss the islands!! You're gonna have an amazing trip!!
@@EzeAdventurer Good man. Thanks Eze!
@@paulkelly9820 Pleasure bud! Let me know how you get on!! Water looks a bit on the low side, but should all still be very enjoyable, despite a few short walks here and there. It's a stunning river, been longing to go back to it ever since.
Wonderful to watch that trip, looking forward to more. Well done for avoiding the midges until the end.
hahaha I know, I was happy to have used the midge net, meant I didn't carry it for nothing :-) ! Glad you liked it bud!
8:53 the water filter - does this make any lake water drinkable? Also do the wildlife not disturb you in the night, like the foxes or deers and what not?
I'm not sure if ANY lake but it does filter to 0.1 micron level which basically removed 99.99999% or something like that of any bacteria / viruses. I've used it in many scenarios and never had any issues. Haha no wildlife don't disturb me... in the beginning when I started camping, it was all very new, so every leaf rustling kinda gets you going. I do hear sometimes branches snapping (deer likely) or small footsteps here and there, maybe badgers, foxes and small animals. Nothing here in the UK is dangerous though, so ultimately you just gotta let it go. Ear plugs can help in the beginning (not recommended in bear country though!!)
Amazing journey and so nice to see your respect for the enviroment. Truly inspirational.
Wow, thank you SO much, really appreciate that! Hope you're having a good day, and see you on the next one!
Man! I love your epic journeys. I'm building up to it. I have a kayak and I do one-nighters, but hope to eventually cover this sort of distance too 😊👍
Thanks so much!! You can do it! 90% attitude bud!!
@@EzeAdventurer Yes, so true!
Amazing. U make me want to go there. Will be looking in to that. 👍
Thanks JUST DO IT indeed brother!
You pack a bit lighter than Jim baird
Hahah definitely !!!!
Where abouts can you get the blue barrels to keep your gear dry
Usually Amazon buddy but some reason they are mostly sold out! But they are GREAT. Get a 60l one
Hi Eze - which month did you paddle as I am planning same trip in 2022, not sure if spring or late summer.
Hi mate I believe this was mid September. River levels were lowish but not super low. Was a good friendly water level. Can be done in a day less probably if you're not filming, although taking it easy and enjoying is better, so the take your time.
Good choice think I’ll look at similar time and no rush so may use another day to immerse into the beauty of the areas and maybe find a distillery. Thanks
@@simonburton8941 Enjoy
I need to watch all of this to see if your car is still there at the end.
LOL yeah good point. Interestingly I did get a note from the police. They were worried but called them up and thanked them for their concern, and apologised for the hassle.
Where did you begin the journey??
Kingussie!
Beautiful pictures, man.
Thanks so much Ralf!!
Well done. You shouldn't be having fires directly on to the soil though
Yes good point, in hindsight shouldn't have done that.. thanks for watchign
No bother. I am in favour of fires but using metal wheels as a fire pit. Or using a spade to dig a hole.
@@domhnallmorris Thanks mate agreed!
Looks like an amazing trip! Great video. What time of year did you do this?
Thanks a lot, appreciate it! It was in September :-)
@@EzeAdventurer thanks for responding, yours is the first video I've been able to find that's in September, which is when I plan on being there. Really gives this desert girl an idea of what to expect weather wise!
43:51 sleep in your helmet 😮
Yes buddy totally!! Someone else had mentioned that, couldn't believe it didn't cross my mind!
Great video. I've done that trip 3 times. I didn't make a video but your's brings back all the memories.
Such beautiful trip isn't it?? Would love to do it again
You earnt my sub … great videos dude
Really appreciate that mate 👊🔥
This is on my ‘must watch’ list for later. I see you have changed the channel name, got to be a good thing, if I searched for the old name UA-cam could never find it. If I wanted to find one of your videos I had to try and remember the title then search for it that way. Hope this boosts the number of subscribers and watchers because they don’t know what they are missing!
Yes exactly Timsy!! The old name was too generic, love the feedback thanks buddy and totally resonate in your logic - hopefully the theory will play out in practise! Your words of encouragement are too kind as always, hope you enjoy the video ( I know you will!) when you get the chance. Best wishes, Eze.
Enjoyed very much ...
Wonderful! Thanks!
Awesome video and an amazing paddle trip with some beautiful views 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it thank you!!
👌👌❤❤👍👍
Cheers bud!
Really enjoyed that on a rainy afternoon!
Glad you did buddy! Very fitting given the rain experienced on the trip! See you on the next one!
I haven't watched all of your adventures, but that seemed like one of the most fun rivers I've saw you run. Keep em coming!
Hey there mate! Thanks for the comment :-) Yeah it's definitely one of my top adventures, absolutely LOVED that trip and feel like I grew a lot from it! Will keep them coming :-) ! See you on the next one and keep on adventuring brother
I enjoyed every minute of your clip buddy, very impressed and quality is awesome. Subscribed to your channel as I love the content. Thank you
Thanks so much Steffan really appreciate your kind comment and welcome aboard buddy!! Hope to see you on the next adventure my friend! 👍🙏👊🏕️
Great video showing the trip and challenges….. one question, how did you get back to your car with all your gear? Was the ride back up a friend or taxi? Thx
Thanks mate appreciate it, yeah was an awesome one! I got a paid shuttle back, used highland yaks!
Well done. You do interesting and informative video's, if I were a few years younger I would very much like to give that ago. I was interested in your trousers that zipped over your wellies, I really need something like them for my boat, you couldn't tell me where you got them from please and also how did you get back to your car ? 😊😊👍👍
Hey buddy! Glad you liked it! The trousers are from decathlon, black waterproof love them and very well priced. Still going strong. I hired a shuttle to drive me back with my canoe on top of the vehicle!
Totally awesome, can I ask what date and month you did this? and thank you……It’s criminal you don’t have more subscribers
Hi mate thanks! This was 3rd week September I believe! The UA-cam algorithm is really hard to break apparently lol!!!
That was great Exe. You’ve inspired me to do the same. My only question is how do you get yourself and canoe back to your car? Best regards 👍
Cheers bud! I used Highlands Yaks to get me and my canoe back to the car!
Fantastic! Nothing new to add that hasn't been said many times already - but particularly agree that honest documentation of mistakes is really useful... BUT - you do seem to be a bit of a tree magnet 🙂
Hey there bud!
hahah tree magnet, I love it. I'm still hoping it will wear off one day!
Yeah gotta show the mistakes, that's where all the growth lies. We should be celebrating mistakes WILDLY! It means we are TRYING!
Great Video as usual. Can I ask at the end of your trips how do you return to the putting-in location? I saw Wye valley Canoe helped you out on that trip but was wondering if you have any way of securing the Canoe and equipment if you have to find your own way back to the car? Do you use local transport or try and get some local(s) to help? Thanks keep the vids coming.
Thanks bud! So yeah I usually rely on a shuttle service or taxi etc. However, in most areas you could easily leave your gear stashed away somewhere until you return with your vehicle... hope this helps!
cool friend !
Thanks buddy!!
Very well done. Your video (and others) have inspired me to get a canoe for some adventures of my own!
May I ask where your accent is from?
Thanks so much - glad to hear that!! That's the goal !! Get out there and have some fun. In doing so, you'll fall deeper and deeper in love with nature, and more likely to want to protect it, and influence others to do so too. Positive spiral!
I'm from Argentina mate :-)
Hi there Eze. Did you make a note of your camp locations? You founds some gems to pitch at and I’d love to find them when I paddle the Spey next month.
Hi Mate, I didn't actually as it was too hard to calculate progress etc. You'll find plenty once you are there, go for it and wing it, it's always the best way!!!
Have you ever considered putting bull bars on the front of your canoe. There were quite a few a trees that just leapt out in front of you. :) Thank you for another great video, I am slowly going through your catalogue of adventures.
Hahah I haven't, but perhaps I should lol!! You're welcome mate, and hope you enjoy the adventures! See you on the next one!
Evenjng Eze what make is your hammock
Keep up the great videos.

Sooo Pretty! Keep havin fun in this amazing party of the world!!!
haha thanks buddy!! you too!
Lived in Scotland for 31 years and never seen a salmon jump like that before (except at a salmon ladder) or deer swimming (in person), excellent captures and excellent video!!
Hey there Hugh! Thanks for commenting, I'm v happy you liked the video. Seeing that salmon jump and that deer swimming across were definitely magical moments! Take care mate!
Hi great vid, how do you do the red squiggly line showing your journey on your maps at the start of your vids?
Dan
Glad you liked it! couldn't find the example of the red line on this one? But sometimes I use OS Maps and there is a fly through function, this may be it?
Lovely river! I'm always surprised to see such a place in a country with a substantial population.
I noticed that you choose your tent rather than hammock shelter when both options are available. I have a four season mountaineering tent that has served me well over several decades, but I'm seriously considering getting an Amok because anywhere below timberline in our mountains it is often difficult to find a level place to set it up.
I get you re below timberline, the amok becomes a great option man! It's a superb product. I guess if you pressed me, I'd say I still prefer a tent in a flat spot pitch etc, but when that becomes harder to come by, the amok really shines! Take care mate!
That was so much fun to watch. Nice to get a good video of the different parts of such a fantastic river. It's on my todo list now.
Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed it! It's a beautiful river indeed!
Just the best.....thank you so much. There was so much in there, that I wouldn't know where to begin!
Wow thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed it Laurie!

Thanks so much! I appreciate that and it’s an absolute pleasure 👍👊
Amazing very well documented. How did you organise it all, did you do circular route to get the canoe back to the car cheers 😊
Thanks David! Actually I left my car near the put in and hired a shuttle service to take me back at the end! I used Highlands Yaks - highly recommended

thanks!
What a wonderful video, makes a change to see the Spey from a canoe on the river rather than from a car driving along side the river.
Thanks! totally, super different perspective, very beautiful river!
Looked great. There's a new addition to my bucket list!
Thanks, totally go for it!
Enjoyed watching your journey. Where did you get drinking water?
Hey Matt! I used a filter and drank from the river!! I've done that a few times and didn't have any issues... on multiple trips.. but I have heard many saying the river is quite polluted...
Fantastic.
Thanks!!
4 months ago !?!?
My god that water must of been freezing dude
Hahahha it really was!!! It was below 8c! However in a recent visit I went in and it was 4.4c!
Tremendous video, captures the Spey perfectly.
Thanks Steven, appreciate that!
Fantastic film & quality content.
What hammock is that please?
Thanks a lot!! The hammock is Amok Draumr 5.0 , it's a game changer! A little pricey but well worth it for the long term I reckon!
