Ideal bass to gig with! Maximum versatility due to the additional jazz bass pickup and moderately priced so you don't end up breaking the bank to get your hands on one. Moment Fender comes out with more color/pickguard variations as well as a left-handed option for folks like myself is when they'll start seeing a lot more backorders for it.
Moderately priced?
It sounds really good, especially with the effects pedal.
So glad you actually played the E-string!! And open at that!! Most reviews concentrate on the 12th fret and above! Great review!
Sounds great. I love the color.
for a moment there i thought it was thom yorke playing the fender bass. completely unintentional i'm sure. :)
No surprises there, but I was Let down
Bought myself a white body/black pick-guard one (I originally wanted the Ultra P bass aged natural but they’re discontinued now). In love with the P and J in one, no buyer’s remorse, and I highly recommend this baby to anyone!
I have this bass and i love it it sounds so damn cool
I love these showcase videos!
i so want this. that black on blue is great
i love fender🖤
Cool bass. The J pickup seems to have a significantly different voice in the upper mids / high frequencies compared to the traditional Fender J / bridge tone. And kudos to Pete for doing such a great job on these videos. Seems like a cool guy.
Edgy Child It’s a passive pickup.
It might depend from the '70s placement?
I think it also depends on the actual weight of a P compared to a J.
i know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Darian Zayn i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Just picked this one up last weekend as my first bass. Might have been a little overkill but I didn't care. I wanted it.
jeez
Because why not :)
"Treat yo'self"
I am seriously looking at it.
@@bethlehemeisenhour8352 I love it. It plays great right out of the box and sounds awesome.
@@SwashBuccaneer I'm excited.
Ghs medium flatwounds sound great
on these, more ole school bassy sound. Just spreading the word.
I want that bass guitar.
2:19 dangdut is real
I still believe fender needs to put the high mass bridge like on the nate mendel model on all there basses.
I agree. I bought the Duff Mckegan's Deluxe bass and I slapped on a Hipshot high mass bridge and BOY.... Did it make a difference!!!
@@4everfree Exactly what I did. Same equipment as you.....big difference!
Is that a '70s style spacing PJ?
does the jazz pickup hum when the p pickup is turned off? on my jazz when I solo either pickup, I get hum
Why no high mass bridge?
Bajos mejicanos hechos por mejicanos en usa, no hay nada más que sorprenda como algo maravilloso.
We need a five string, please!
good distortion. What pedal is it?
Está chingon
Ojalá me alcanzara para comprarlo jaja
Nicole Row's video on this exact same bass is like 2 million views hahahha ohh lawd... anyways, great bass this one, great color too!
when you get a bass guitar is it compulsory to have a bass amp or can you use the same amp you’d use for an electric guitar?
Get a bass amp, guitar amps gets broken when you play a bass with it
It's fine to use a guitar amp. Just don't use an expensive guitar amp that you love or crank the volume up high. If it's just for home practice, it's fine.
Dannel Lim ah okay thank you, it is just for home practice
@@freya634 You shouldn't risk it on high volumes, keep it quiet or the increased "volume" of the bass frequencies will blow the speaker.
Joseph Brown okay thanks, i don’t play on high volume cause i love with my family, i will invest in a bass amp at some point
Right away this sounds better than its expensive brother the Ultra P-Bass, its punchy and high definition, the Ultra is kind
of digital sounding. And $500 cheaper.
I have a one
Does anyone own this bass? I bought one recently and i can hardly tell any difference between the Tone Knob all the way down or all the way up! Here in this video the difference is clear.
Cincho that could be a fault on your bass . Rarely does that ever happen but you might have to take it to a store and get the tone pot replaced
It's because it has a slightly different tone circuit to a regular P bass - Whereas a regular tone circuit causes a large bump in the low-mids as you roll it down, this one largely avoids the bump and just rolls off high frequencies. It can be difficult to hear when you're playing, especially at low volumes, because the actual acoustic sound of the highs can mask the sound of the highs coming through the speaker - You'll definitely hear a difference if you record it and play it back.
The headstock looks a bit odd on that. The Player series stock looks better honestly.
Why do we hear so much fret buzzing on a commercial for a nice Bass?
It’s eq with a lot of top end for people watching on cellphones I guess.
Was thinking same, but maybe they want to demo the instrument with an “average” player, since that is the demo they are aiming for with this line?
Really it’s because it’s set up most likely to his preference and it cuts through and sounds good in a live mix.
I just don't like the sound of new strings
Is passive mode available on this bass?
It is an all passive bass
Rick Grimes? Plays bass?!
I thought the exact same thing! Hahaha
This guy is like Rick Grimes and Elijah Woods fused together... and oddly enough his name is Peter Griffin
player plus p bass or this?
👍
No slap?
Bring davie504 and adam neely make a signature player series /squier bass for them
Davie504 is VERY much overrated and is NOT all that, so I DO NOT get what the fuss is all about; he is only a just-above-average bass player that happens to be blown out of proportion by UA-cam. But what I just cannot understand for the life of me why the legendary James Lee Jameson does NOT have a signature bass by Fender instead.
@@EuphoriaPiana if u dont mind mr. James is resting innpeace right now and what fender needs nowadays is people as Davie ripping the bass as in the past James did about all that stuff Davie is more than an overall bass player he has improved from his first video to be a must profesional one you can see it on his last video he aint longer the boi with slap he has introduced new techniques and he could pretty much do anything you ask for in bass (btw its obviously know that u dont play bass because if you did ypu will see how difficult is to play a davie bass line) i do i play bass for about 2 years and hell davie basslines aint that easy
@@EuphoriaPiana regular P bass is James Jamerson's signature in a way :)
@@EuphoriaPiana if you played bass then you'd know how hard a Davie bass line is
5 strings? You have
Pete Griffin? He sure has lost some weight since family guy
"The front pickup"
No
Bro just casually says his name is peter griffin
Bought this bass new but was humming a lot and electronics were out of whack & not working properly...gave it back to shop and traded upwards. Shame...
1:07. 2:18. 2:28. 3:39
I own 2 American made Fender basses, and as far as I'm concerned,an American made Fender Bass is the best by far!! But damn....... just how many versions of the p-bass and j-bass are they gonna make? This bass is no better than any of the previous American made models they've come out with!! Come on Fender!! it's time for something totally new, that has nothing to do with the p-bass or j-bass!!
@@rainvedu Agreed they were pretty cool, I think they were just sandwiched between a lot of other models at the time like the Blacktop and Pawnshop.
Yeah, they tried that in the past and absolutely no one bought them. You want a p or j bass you (can) buy a Fender, you want something else just buy one of a thousand other brands.
Stop taking all of my money fender!!!
Jeff Andrews was have simular bass.
There’s no reason to buy this instead of an American G&L.
I can’t get past that hideous G&L headstock.
Try finding one anywhere in a shop. They are damn near impossible to find.
Lol...Get a good bass player ffs
Im not impressed why try to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place fender got it right in the 70s and 80s and now they say hey look we made it better 😂 yeah right todays designer's are a pale shadow of those of the past. The pickups sound to sensitive grinding on the frets its still a nice bass but its not better its just them pulling another 1 over you saying its better and hoping you believe it
Pale shadow? Bullshit. They build what people want to buy. Period.
