It is pretty cool. They can actually be taught how to communicate by tapping. My little Sebastion has been taught how to ask for things by tapping, rather than screaming and/or throwing a tantrum. Now, I'm trying to teach Wynnie...Lol... They are interestingly adorable...🤗
The old theory that 'the bigger the brain, the smarter the animal' is no longer in vogue. Tons of data now shows that it is the crenellations of the brain that indicate intelligence.
I had one that could sing 5 tunes from beginning to end. I purchased a tape of the tunes and I played it for a hour or so each day when he was in his "room" vs. flying the house. He was free as a bird you might say and smarter than most people I know. I loved him; they are the best of pets.
He’s so cute, I like the way he stands so tall and looks like he’s smiling while singing. I love cockatiels, mine’s a female , quiet and very affectionate. I love them all!
I had a really sad day today. Birds make me really happy, so I looked up birds singing (i love their lil songs lol) and found this. I just wanna say, thank you for making me laugh and smile even if I'm still crying. This is so sweet.
It's 12 yr's later, (during the 2020 pandemic crisis) & this adorable footage STILL makes me smile...I've never met a beautiful cockatiel that I couldn't love the absolute *Holy Badoozles* out of...They're so endearing & adorable...
Hello...@@411STFU Even though it's not even funny, I hope that your comment was said, TIC..."Tongue in Cheek", because yesterday, my home state of Ohio had the largest number of Covid 19 cases diagnosed in ONE day since the beginning of this pandemic... *2,000* more people diagnosed just YESTERDAY alone???
Well Hello, ce neblock, you rascal... HaHaHa...Guess it' will be no big surprise to you that I always preferred Science, History & Art over Mathematics...LOL. *: )*
Little bird looks so very proud to whistle out that song!! Puffed up chest, head held high!! So precious!! He really looks like such a happy happy bird!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I am teaching this to my little Oliver. He loves whistling and talking, he already knows a few songs so I thought about trying something longer this time! He loves listening to this little boy and keeps trying to sing along.
I'm teaching our 5 month old cockatiel this song. I'm not a good whistler, so your video has been his teacher. Our bird has the first verse after 5 days of teaching him! Thank you!
Aww 8 weeks baby!! He must be adorable!! Charming has learned these songs by listening me whistling:))) It took for a while until he started singing, but its worthwhile:))) Good Luck!!
My nixxie has been trying to pick this song up. I put this on for him all the time but I'm home. I could see that he's trying to repeat it. Hes a quick learner too. Your beautiful bird is the a spitting image of my other beloved cockatiel buddy! Thank you so much for putting this video on UA-cam🌻🌷😉🌸🌹😉❤️
So your bird is there to entertain you? He has to play with you so you feel great? How selfish are you? Get him what he needs, that is your responsibilty.
It seems that you misunderstood my comment. He is there to be your friend not to entertain you. And nice try but he doesn't NEED a partner. My bird loves me and we always cuddle and talk to each other. A bird doesn't NEED another bird to be happy. He only needs love and attention. And before you begin to argue once more, this is what the owner of a pet shop said AND what an exotic vet said. Your bird doesn't NEED another bird. Your argument is invalid.
Every species on this planet needs a partner of his kind, even you. So don't fool yourself. Of course your bird cuddles with you because there is no one else. But if he had a partner you would never be his first choice and you realized it yourself that's why you don't get him one. And that is the definition of selfishness. And I believe that you love your bird, but you love him like a human being. He wants to be loved by another bird. Do you think an animal could satisfy ALL your needs? Imagine spending the rest of your life with a bird. You would interact with him as well because you wouldn't want to be alone, but you could only be happy with another human being in your life. Don't you agree?
Haa See I agree partially with the fact that I would not want to JUST be around a bird. But I still don't agree with most of your arguments. Neither of us can understand what birds say. Maybe he is as happy as can be, and you are saying that he is sad and lonely. Maybe I say he is happy when he is not. But sorry, this is the way it is. Some of the ways that you have put it, is like you're saying that he is there to entertain me and I pretty much sit there and tell him to sing and such. With the whole partner thing, what do you think about all the other animals? Dogs don't get a partner and get spayed or neutered so they can't reproduce. Same with cats. I Agree with you there, I wish my dogs could have puppies but, my parents say it is too much of a hassle. Same for my bird. What do you think I am supposed to do to make my animals happy? Get a second Green Cheek Conure for about $300 just to make him happy? Get 2 male dogs for my 2 Female dogs to make them happy? Get a second bearded dragon to make him happy? You expect me to spend about $2,000 or more on my pets just to get them a partner? Maybe they would be happier then, but I am not in a position to spend all of that money on them.
Marth some actually can. A crow actually works for it's food and is even cleaver enough to use small tools to get it. They can also mimic the voice and tone of a person.
I love how he cued himself before starting - TAP TAP !!

Because of the mirror, which is an extremely inappropriate toy for a cockatiel. But I doubt any of you bothered to read up on that.

That is so stinkin. CUTE!!!!!
Never give a parrot a mirror as a toy, get him a partner.
Never give then a partner if you want them to be your pet. Usually with most birds, if you get them a friend, they won't play with you as much.
So your bird is there to entertain you? He has to play with you so you feel great? How selfish are you? Get him what he needs, that is your responsibilty.

Dragon empress Clever* And us 17th century humans thought they were spawns of the devil...
It isn’t too big of an issue for a cockatiel to peck something because they have no feeling on the ends of their beaks.
