I liked the money savings, but I like the fact that you went out of your way to save the customers hard earned money. Not many guys like you.
I believe treat people how you want to be treated.
Do you want to others as you would want them to do unto you.
Thank you for watching
@TaddyDigest I have over 25 years in Hvac-R field and let me tell you, I do the same, I ordered alternatives to unit owners, I explain the alternatives and they decide what they want ... but st least I let them decide with information
What savings? That board plus psc motor is the same cost as a rescue 13 you are only adding more work
And don't get me started on the 16 pin at $400 for the board
When they started selling these ECM type motors, they sold for three to $500. Now they're going for 1000 or more. Bait and switch at its best. All I do is put a relay in with a PSC motor and I'm done. i'll stop selling variable speed air handler's along time ago. When they started jacking the prices up on the blower motor and control modules. Now I just upsize my air handler a half a ton if I need more airflow. Keep up the good job on the videos dude.
Dude that's a great idea and that's really all this is it's a couple relays built into a board
You my friend are a true technician
this is awesome
so you put a relay that is controlled by the thermostat directly or by the board? im a new tech and love learning
thanks much
Hey mark thanks for being a member really appreciate you
Yeah this is a very simple setup and it's a Built-in relay really easy to install
Yup that’s old school. Wire a PSC hot all the time or wire your 19340 relay from G. You could get real fancy and wire heat/cool/aux on different speeds
fam u r tha man.i really appreciate all the videos u post and how u talk us thru each 1.very very helpful, thanks!!!!
You're welcome, my friend.I'm glad you liked the videos.Thank you for watching
I used it and I love it! Kept getting a code 5 and code 11 even after replacing a warranty X13 motor and board. After the quick swap, no more problems. Very happy with the quick swap.
Thanks for your help. My evaporator motor quit yesterday and I just learned how much a ECM motor cost. I was at the supply house yesterday. The prices start at $300 to $1000. I was informed that the real weakness of the ECM motor is they are very sensitive to power fluctuation which is almost the norm is southern Pine bluff Arkansas. A refrigeration technician mention to me today that he advises some of his customers living in area where power fluctuation is a problem to switch to PSC motor.
Thanks for the video.
You can do this with a 90 - 380 connect the G wire and common and break the speed you choose at the 90/380 connect the other common wire add to contact her or defrost control
Nice!! I'm learning every time I turn on UA-cam
A better solution is likely to use the EverGreen ECM replacement. They do not have to be programed and will learn rotation on their own while replacing the poor design of the X13. Not as cheap as the PSC and Relay idea but at least the efficiency and operation of the ECM advantages remain in place for less than an X13.

Thank you so much brother! Can we use any type psc motor for that board?
yes
Hi Tad
Watching, learning and enjoying your videos from Vancouver, Canada👍
Great news, 😊 Thank you for watching. I am glad you're here.
Taddy you're doing the Lord's work!
Thank you my brother
From DC/MD/VA area. Nice video. Bought one of these 3 years ago to use in a pinch. Still on my shelf. Good to see that it works. It would be nice to see the motor switching speeds.
Hvac is my life
Glad YOU are here
I would of just installed a Mars Azure motor. Would have been cheaper than the X3 and PSC motor. Or to have saved the customer even more money, use a PSC motor and a relay.

Checking in From south carolina keep up the good work!!!
Thanks Tayvon 👍
Great Job saving your customers money. Tanks for your channel.
Thanks For Watching Homie 👀 😀
I’d not seen those yet, but that is great option versus buying another stupid ECM that’s bound to fail sooner than it should. Unfortunately that conversion board is full of electronics too. Nothing beats an old American made PSC motor, especially if it has oil tubes. Not that most people would ever know to put oil in there occasionally, but some of us do. My original Emerson PSC 1/3 hp motor is still in place in my furnace. Summer time it’s normally running continuously when cooling is on.
thumbs up 👍
I'm from Las Vegas. Thank you.
You're welcome bro thank you for watching.
I go to a lot of service calls now on 4 to 6 year old systems, and a lot of people have already replaced the ecm motor and are just using a relay off green
They never should have stopped using PSC motors, ECM ,X13 don’t save money they are designed to make people feel better about them selves .
Better to stock an Ecm universal azure. There about 2-300 bucks and they won’t loose the efficiency of blower motor.
I keep one in the van all the time 👍
Thank you for the tech tip!
your welcome Glad you watched 👀 😊
I have only seen maybe 2 or 3 ecm motors failures, it's almost always the thermistor in the bell housing on the motor( this goes for eon,,2.3,2.0 x13) usually a 5 to 10 dollar part that can be desoldered and soldered back on. Part number is (sl32r030), easy field repair with a battery powered solder gun.
The other fail cases come down to board failures.
I have seen others fails, when thermisters are good.
unless its encased in rubber, then not so easy.
@Little Boy & Fat Man the thermistor can be cut above the sealant leaving nubs that the new thermistor can be soldered to and testing of removed thermistor.
We see a good number of failures here in south Texas. Some module, some motor shorted.
That bell housing is the "Module" and Evergreen ECM can replace the X13 with the same wire harness etc. Those thermistors are $2 and yes, can be replaced most of the time with a soldering iron. Sad that those cheap crap parts are being purchased and used on an $800+ motor.
Awesome job, do you worry about mounting below a capacitor with the possibility it could leak on the board?
nope
I start my journey June 20th which is my Start date for my HVAC/R and Gas Technician course starts. I'm really excited to learn this trade
That's awesome dude. I've been at 26 years. You'll love it. Keep learning.
Awesome man keep that same enthusiasm and excitement and you will love it and you will love where it can take you
Great job
with a 3 relays you can do the same thing.
Do you ever get ECM blowers stuck on ? I came across 2 even with green unplugged still runs
yes
Mine is stuck on now, second motor, same problem....
Nice product but too expensive. I see them collecting dust at most hvac supply shops.
Another great video! What is your experience with these quikproduct kits? Are they reliable?
Thank you we're watching my brother
Yes I've changed several motors and used these products. They work great and they are reliable
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing
You're welcome Thank you for watching
Great info. Where's a good supply house to buy fan control board?
where are you located
Great video, thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you so much for watching. Please share the video when you can
Smart job man.
Thank you Samer
you can just use relay or contactor
that is correct
great job
Why not just connect a PSC fan relay board and cap ?
Convenience
What size capacitor do I need to swap out ecm 1/2 hp with PSC
depends on voltage to motor and speed 5mfd - 10mfd
Does this work on other ECM motors as well??
yes
Great info. We'll explained total price seems cheap?
Thanks very much John I really appreciate you watching
Total price really depends on location and Rates Enjoy your day my friend
We should definitely keep one of these in stock
absolutely I agree
Thanks!
Thank you and you are most welcome
After replacing the thermister, a year later the the main blower motor (GE 1/2 hp 08/22/00 CNO2 011DH7) in my carrier infinity is making a intermittent high pitched whine (g#5 note) when on first stage. If I can afford it, should I replace the motor? Bearings? Thanks
Yes replace the motor
Can you do this with a variable speed ecm motor? Mine is getting replaced again for the 3rd time under warranty and I have just over a year of warranty left. This motor has been in for about a year and a half. I just can't see continuing doing this. It has been the ecm every single time and so far they have found no other issues minus this time they said it also cause the high pressure switch to trip and it has to get replaced also.
yes absolutely
Love my name is vidal wher can i get this product
Where did I get the red wire to board from? Was it 24v or high voltage?
high voltage
I don't see the reason to replace an ecm motor by using a proprietary board that is another point of failure. Wouldn't it make more sense to just use easy to find relays and capacitors? At least for diy homeowners that can replace those simple parts it would seem to. I keep a spare contactor, capacitor and thermostat just so I can get right back up in 100 degree heat. Just seems to be a product without a reason except to make the manufacturer money.
Can someone make a video using relays stead of the quick swap
I've got a video on there
Excuse my ignorance, but how do you use relays, and capacitors on an existing ecm board to change the motor to psc?
@@TChalla616 If it is ignorance, I am just as ignorant.. I am diy homeowner /ex industrial electrician that does a lot of research before I do anything I'm not familiar with. My unit has a X13 motor, so maybe I should have said that instead of ECM because I have no idea if all ECM's would be able to be replaced with a PSC. My X13 just needs full time 220-240v and a 24vac input signal (for speed). There are quite a few videos online that show how it can be done. I just like being prepared, and in my case I decided to get a US Motors Rescue motor (X13) for a spare. I hope it will be wasted and I will never need it......Not ducking the question, I really am not the guy to ask how to do this, I'm the guy watching the video while I do it for myself.
U can use a relay to change over to a psc motor but u don't get variable speeds from psc motor, just wire it to medium speed without the the qwik products board but if u are concerned about humidity I would use the board. Yes it's another control board that can be a failure point in the event of a lightning strike or power surge. I recommend whole house surge protector and wire individual surge protector for air handler and condenser
What about variable speed motor? Do They make the conversion board for it?
Thanks Ted
yes they do
Why not use a relay and capacitor and run the new motor on high speed
Thank you Ted. I want to join.

Or you can just install a relay instead of the board right?
yes
I've always just wired in a few relays when swapping these out. Probably cheaper than this extra control board and more reliable.
I need that I live at lewisville tx
wondering if you can help i"ve got a goodman 4 ton heat pump the ecm blower i"ve replaced many time and I'am done with it will the quickswap work fpr me they want 1100. dollars for motor if this will work i'll get 3/4 hp psc motor and cap
This product will work for your unit
I had some power outage and after that the ecm died on my carrier package unit, I installed a rescue ecm one for 300$ , almost identical and no problem , there is no point to put an original expensive motor on 13 years old unit
I agree
Nice video
Thanks
Can anyone tell me why some ECM motors have a small 16x4 Wire Box (sometimes referred to as a Programmed ECM Control Box), glued to the back of the ECM module (P/N C497892510001, Model AA23960-ADAP-TP). Seems to be wired between the IFC board the ECM motor. I have a relatively new Lennox air handler (CBA25UHV-036-230), that has a 1/2 Hp U.S. Motors/NIDEC motor with this little black plastic 16x4 Wire Box controller stuck to the back of it. According to my service tech the ECM motor is shot and needs replacement after just 24 months (over $1000). Thankfully it's still under warranty but I want to consider installing a QwikSwap in the future should either of my dual zone air handlers need a blower replacement.
My ECM motor has failed 2 times. The first time it lasted 2 years after the new installation. Now here it is again failed after 8 years. The motor is a 1HP ECM motor. Do I replace it with the same HP in the PSC motor?
yes
Thank you for answering my question.
Cheaper to buy a re-manufactured control module.
Just use a relay
Have you tried the Mars azure motors
I have not I will check it out Thank you Michael

how about another type of ECM motors that have different sockets? are there convertors that come with the product?
there are different products like this that work for all different kinds of X13 and ecm motors
“R” meaning 24 Hot from transformer?
yup
This is why a $500 Air handler is now $1500. call it Overtech.
yupp
Can do with a relay
Of course
That's what this is a board with built-in relays
If you need only cooling, yes. If need both heating and cooling, 2 relays. And for ecm 2.5 and 3.0, the board will read signal feedback from ECM module, then you really need the V3, or replace furnace LOL
i just put a 10.00 relay on it
Boom
Muchas gracias amigo Tank you good bless you
You're welcome
Great job, but just to let you know now my wife only dislikes you even more. After I showed her some of your videos especially the one that you have the ventless heater setup with the propane tank. Now you are working while wearing Crocs. We must be related. You ain't right
😄 🤣 😂
Lol why , just use relay . 😂😂😂
the ECM motors and the VSM motors are ALL JUNK. they don't last more than a few years. then you are stuck paying thousands of dollars to install a new blower motor. my unit is a cheap unit, the blower motor went out after a year and a half. New VSM cost $800(ac company) before install. I found one on ebay(self install) for just under $500.
What kinda tech wears crocks to the job smh
When your feet hurt You do what you gotta do These help
This is stupid. Adding an extra part to a motor that voids warranty and costs more to use. All because no one wants to admit it's a markup problem, not a motor problem. The motor you took out is only like 300 bucks or less. Anyone who does this along with removing expansion valves for a piston is a joke.
The point is to save the customer money
Also, some of these motors with modules are over a thousand dollars.
So it makes perfect sense.
Fantastic. Thanks. What brand is that board please?
Check description
Is there an adapter kit for a york ecm motor 1hp
yes
Save the customer 500? Psc motor..Quick swap board.....cap...labor.....dammmm seems ur not gonna make any money! So u made about 150-200 labor? That's real cheap!!!!!
