Well, most people don't want to þink so ðat's why it's underrated.
22:39 that' my maaaaann!!!No matter how bad the animation is, the story always takes precedence, because if a manga is a masterpiece, it's still a masterpiece
7DS is an example for sure!
If the manga is good but the anime has bad animation, it does mean that the anime is bad tho... so just read it
@@Inchiostro_ Honestly you are right too, like kingdom anime, season 1 and 2 are very bad but I still watch it
but whats the point of watching the anime if the animation is bad. Just read it instead if its better made as a manga.
@@Nao-pj7mc actually that's not the point, many people say that mediocre animation is bad, their standards have really gone up, for example like watching monsters,or yuyu hakusho maybe the visuals and animations are not good, but it's worth watching and also, the point of watching anime is to be able to feel what which can not be felt in the manga, such as emotions, sounds, etc if the story of an anime is really good it doesn't need very good animation and visual

8:04 I love Chihayafuru. It's basically a sport anime about a traditional Japanese card game called Karuta. It has good comedy, romance, and drama.
I saw little of it but for comedy I remember one episode. Where he gets her overpriced chocolate and she eats it all in one go without savoring anything. She had to fill her stomach.😂
And in the same one her opponent became so overweight that it effected her speed.
.........I feel like I am seeing a pattern here though.💀
20:48 Guillermo Del Toro could do live action Berserk. I'd trust that man with anything.
I genuinely just cannot even mentally comprehend how anyone can watch the first season of AOT and not get even slightly invested!
21:25 "Don't westernize it"
The Guy: "Berserk is inspired by Western culture"
Honestly this is the only guy I agree with completely, because Berserk is based on western medieval times. Its a straight up high fantasy novel. It has more in common with modern fantasy works than any other anime.
If HBO takes it up and hires competent writers who respect the source material (and don't add US politics) it has the potential to be great.
With all due respect, for the love of god....stfu... western cunts dont know onow how to make live action of something that came out of other culture ....themes dont matter ...

Thinking jjk is mid if you haven't read the manga before s2 aired is a pretty common opinion, season 1 I like the happiness before the storm aka;Shibuya
jjk middle of the first season was weirdly paced with all the 1 v 1's. I personally didn't like that part that much. Also Mahito sucks because his ability is seemingly whatever the writer wants it to be at that moment as he seemingly can do anything. I am enjoying season 2 so far though.
@@dearen7588You don't understand Mahito's character then. He can manipulate a person's soul, including his own and uses that to change the forms of others or himself. The Shibuya arc goes deeper into most of the characters tho and changed it from a Naruto type series to a Chainsawman/Attack on titan type series.
@@matthewjutzen424 Come on. He wanted to kill Nanami and had him picked up by his face. 2 seconds later he is making a power drill from his hand and spikes are popping out from his limbs. Why didn't he shoot a spike or drill through Nanami's head then? I'm talking about this kind of thing rather than his character. If he can make a literal power drill from the palm of his hand or avoid death by transforming into a tiny tube to go underground then what can't he do? Why stop at a drill, maybe he should transform the shape of his soul to include a functioning Glock on his right arm. There are infinite possibilities for what he could do, which is why we are at the whim of the author. The episode making it seem like he was going to die and then pulling a "lol nope" is an insult to the viewers intellect as everything points to him dying, you start thinking he's going to die and yet we're fooled.
@@dearen7588 As someone who's read the later arcs, you'll see why they didn't kill him off at that point later. You'll also see a ton of characters with much crazier abilities than body manipulation. There's a dude who can make anything he thinks is funny reality. There are also simpler abilities, like lightning or shooting beams. It's really a modern day Bleach but, if characters actually died more often. People will see in the later half of season 2 and all of season 3.
JJK and Demon Slayer are similar in that regard. The first seasons were incredibly hyped and beloved and I felt like they were just in general not as great as everyone was making them out to be. Then the second season rolled around and the praise became justified imo.
Second season of JJK isn't finished though, so who knows if I will still think so when it is over but it's really promising so far.
11:52 this is how I react to hot take videos lol can't handle the cringe. Also I vote Nicholas Light as the new anime man.
okay, up top, my favorites are Golden Kamuy, Vinland Saga, Dorohedoro, Mob Psycho 100, Chainsaw Man... probably some others, but these are my representative series.
on to some opinions.
I think if you're out here saying "Fruits Basket is overrated" you might need to readjust your definitions a bit. Fruits Basket is like, THE shoujo series... a lot of the tropes that you see in Fruits Basket became common because Fruits Basket did them so well first. and if anything about Fruits Basket seems generic, it's because a lot of other series copied Fruits Basket, and it retroactively ran that stuff into the ground. if you take Fruits Basket by its own merits, I think the series is very good... but you can't come at it with cynicism. like... with enough cynicism, you can make anything sound stupid, but Fruits Basket in particular works best when you're willing to let it get to you. I think anime fans just need to learn how to feel something without all the irony poisoning.
(also, side note, shoujo is basically impossible to "overrate" because everybody always underrates it compared to shonen. but honestly, that's the whole problem with the terms "overrated" or "underrated" like, those words mean nothing. just say whether you think the thing is bad or good, instead of just talking about audience reception all the time. quit blaming other people for having shit taste, and talk about what your taste actually is and why. I want to steal those words from the anime community sometimes.)
JJK is... fine. I enjoyed it well enough, but I can't really analyze it the way I can with other stuff. I have more complicated opinions about it, but I'm not about to get into it all right here.
I fell off of Attack on Titan... and I think outside of certain extenuating circumstances, the reason might be because it started to feel too hopeless to me. like, at first you're watching, and you know it's gonna be kind of a slaughter fest yaknow? like, we have lots of background characters because we need the canon fodder, you're pretty sure one of the main trio is gonna die at some point... but things can still be like that and give you a bit of hope at the same time, right? that's what Eren's titan form is supposed to do for the show... you see him transform, and you get that feeling of hope, like humanity has a tool and can fight back now. but when you take another step back and really look at the cast... I was finding that I didn't really enjoy the personalities of any of the characters quite enough. or like, at least none of the relationships between the characters. they all felt either really toxic and unhealthy toward one another, or really really doomed, or like they were just coworkers. it took until Ymir and Historia for me to really get invested in a relationship, but you could stll tell that they were being set up to fall apart. I just had nothing to really root for after a while. I liked Hange... I liked Levi and his squad, until... well. hm. yeah, it just felt like, for any character that I ever tried to get invested in, the show was always gearing up to pull the rug out from under me. it even did it a little too early for Reiner and Bertholdt, I hadn't even had the chance to get fully attached to them yet, we were still in the early days with them, and I was kind of waiting for them to endear themselves to me a bit more, but like, we're _always_ in that beginning stage, and then there's some big heel turn.
(but mostly I fell off because I stopped watching somewhere in the middle... it was only because I got busy, but by now I would have to do a rewatch in order to understand all the technical/political plot, but the character stuff makes a rewatch feel like it'd drag a bit... a first watch goes down smooth because of all the thriller type big reveal moments, but once you know all the answers and have to wait for them to drop, it can kind of turn the suspense into waiting.)
I stopped caring about attack on Titan after the ending but jujutsu kaisen in my opinion is the best current running shonen out right now except for one piece. And I never watched fruit basket I'm not into shoujo.😅😅😅😅
Damn I got the same taste as u my favorite Seinen are Dorohedoro, Golden Kamuy, Berserk and for Shonen Hunter x Hunter and Chainsaw Man
@@logicandemma8474 my shonen of choice is Chainsaw Man... I actually wrote up a bigass comment explaining why just a little bit ago, so I won't elaborate too heavily, but I like being able to dig into the themes. I feel like, for me, JJK has some weird gaps in the story and characterization that I get hung up on. it's not a bad show by any means, but I find myself asking too many questions that don't have satisfying answers.
and yeah, I'm not heavily into shoujo... but Fruits Basket is an exception for me just based on the strength of the character writing. it is dated in some ways, and it's not for people who can't do a series without action or something, but I can't help liking it... it got me. ^^;
@@andod881 hell yes, impeccable taste, I really need to get back to Hunter x Hunter at some point... I didn't drop it on purpose, I just got too busy, but I was really enjoying it.
Yo I found my man!
Even if I didn’t watch JJK, I can agree with you. When I say about an anime ‘it’s fine’ , I mean it’s good, but in an anime I’m looking for something special, like in Dorohedoro, Chainsaw Man or JJBA. And in contrast with these, the ‘fine’ animes like Demon Slayer, JJK and I think One Piece too, are just mid. Because they are not special for me. I accept if anyone thinks differently, tbh I’m a really big anime snob.
On the other hand, I feel a little…no, a lot of burning hatred when I see that One Piece is above 1000 episodes, the trashy isekais also get a second season, meanwhile Drifters and Dorohedoro not and never will. That’s why I used a drastic word, like ‘mid’.

I enjoyed jjk season 1 at first but then as it went on into the final episodes of season 1 it kinda just went downhill and got a little boring imo. I haven’t given season 2 a try yet so I might start watching season 2 soon

Quarantine anime fans finding the word mid was the worst thing to happen to the anime industry.
They should really ban people from using the word mid
also, my big hot take on FMA is that the manga is the best version of the story. each of the anime has it's good elements, but the manga did it right the first time, and even after Brotherhood, we still haven't gotten an anime that does it right.
FMA 2003 has my preferred tone, art style, and pacing, but that was the version where the manga wasn't complete, so they started making stuff up. I think it's cool what they did, and I don't fault them for their decision... that show was too plot driven for filler episodes in the first place. but I like where the manga goes a lot better.
Brotherhood's tone and pacing are actively irritating to me in the early episodes. I know how it's supposed to go, and I'm watching it get butchered half the time. even the colors feel a bit too bright. they hold the jokes for a bit too long. they don't spend long enough on the plot relevant and atmospheric bits. I've seen these scenes done well before... and I know everyone gets directed to watch Brotherhood as their introductory experience with this series, so it hits me even more wrong.
if you want the best version of FMA, read the manga. that's my picky fan opinion.
That's a W take, my brother.

so for example, the first couple of chapters in the manga feature the Leore incident with father Cornello, and the mining town incident with Yoki. and the purpose of these stories is to show the ways that alchemists can be worshipped (Cornello) and the ways that alchemists can be hated (Yoki) because alchemy is a very powerful skill, and when people hold power over others, they can end up being venerated or feared, depending on how they use it. and this complexifies Ed's position as a very young state alchemist. he's inheriting a lot of baggage by taking on this title, especially as a military/government backed position of power, and even at that point, you don't know the half of it yet. the story is definitely going places with this theme.
the Leore chapter also has a LOT to say about alchemy and it's place in the universe, as well as messages about the value of the truth vs. the comfort of a lie, and the personal responsibility we bear when we fall for lies... but also, Ed tends to wield the truth rather abrasively. Ed is such an interesting character, because at times he can come off as such a little shit, even when he's trying to do something that he personally believes is right. I don't think he could've lived with himself if he let Rose go on believing in something that could harm her, but I think half the reason she wouldn't listen to him was because he seemed too arrogant, and both can be true at once. the story is going places with this characterization.
the story also leads off with three major tragedies... I'm not going to fully detail what they are, just in case you ever want to go back unspoiled, but these three events establish the permanence of death, and the value of a life. this is important because alchemy is transactional, and it is emphasized that you can only get out what you pay in. it's important to know what something costs... and it's important to know when something is priceless. there is no amount that you can pay to completely replace someone. not in a way that matters.
early on, the story mostly runs on character intrigue. and it has to establish this big point about how important people are, before it starts setting off fireworks in the plot, because by the time it does, you have this rock solid foundation of characters you're invested in, players on the field, pieces of the puzzle... and when everything starts to move at once, that's when you get more of the plot intrigue.
and honestly, this is why I recommend the manga. in FMA 2003, a lot of this setup doesn't go where it was intended to, because they literally changed the late game story. and in FMAB, they speedrun the setup, and don't present it in a very entertaining way half the time... the jokes are cloying, and I don't like the pacing, and it feels like the makers of the anime were leaning on the idea that there just weren't any first time viewers... they'd all either read the manga or watched FMA 2003 first. which wasn't and isn't true. so the manga remains the most well constructed version of the story, in my opinion.
like, FMAB pops off as soon as you get past the setup, but the setup is actually enjoyable to consume in the manga.
I watched brotherhood and I thought it was fine, I think my biggest issue while watching is it was severely overhyped imo? Like before watching everyone online was like it’s peak, the characters are incredible, plot is insane, just look at MAL it’s number one bro etc and then I got to it extremely excited and it never delivered, now don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it enough to finish it and found it had some great moments but as a whole I thought it was just fine. Like I think it did everything well but nothing extremely well and I guess that was my issue, personally in fiction I love when even one or a couple things is done extremely well and with fmab I never got that. I can see why a lot of people love it but it just didn’t scratch the same itch for me I guess.
So my hot take is....nick dosnt even like anime 😂 i give 20 thumps up for people that ask where jojo is ...and i also asked same with mob..but he says nothing and ignores everyone!! and he brings then so vidz 😂 its always personal preference
I guess he is just taking his time watching the shows...
@@aarongallardo3684 thats fine ..nobody force him to watch this shows...he came with jojo week and so if he not wanna do a jojo week ...why does he say it then..🤔
I need to see Nick change his channel name to some variation of the real anime man 😂
I fucking love you Nick
"Farmland Saga sucks because don't have any action" "I hate Attack on Titan, its overastimated"...I deeply respect your opinions. We will not gonna hate each other because of it. We're not enemies. No one have enemies.
It's your choice I don't have problem but still the fact is L opinion 😊
JUJUTSU KAISEN is PEAK 🐐🔥
22:31 That’s so ironic considering he’s wearing a Higurashi sotsu shirt. You know, the season that completely shits on both Higurashi and Umineko, two critically acclaimed stories
Peak vid ❤❤❤
Gotta be honest demon slayer is pretty shit but the animation keep it afloat. I think that’s pretty normal take. N Mha season 6 clears every season of demon slayer so far.
Majority of people "aot is trash " after watching 1season it should be "season 1 is mid" not the entire anime after watching 1 season 😂 they just hate it clearly
I watched all of Naruto and Shippuden in sub (including all the filler) at 2x speed until I caught up halfway through the war arc, slowing it to 1.25x only when it got good. I would absolutely recommend that to anyone else who wants to get through the worst stuff without actually skipping it.
"90% of Attack on Titan is screaming"
yea no shit u would scream too if u saw a ginormous titan running towards u
If you had asked me 6 months ago what my hot take was I would have also have said AoT is overrated/trash. But during a manga drought (and with the help of sheer boredom at work) I ended up reading through the entire manga and can gladly say it’s now in my top 10. I, like many of these people, only watched the first season and just stopped, calling it “mid”. Had I kept going, I would have discovered a much more complex and nuanced story. It’s like my father used to say, “90% of dads stop beating their kids right before they finally fix them.” In this instance, AoT is my kid and I, for one, am glad I continued to beat him. ❤
"If a hot take is popular, that just solidifies how wrong it is."

in this edition we have a new protagonist, tomato nick! hahahaha
3:32 I thought the same but after the start of 2nd season I just want to buy the whole manga
