Is 3ds Max actually used in the VFX and Game industry ? I'm worried that I waste my time learning a software that is only used for Archviz when Maya is the industry standard for this stuff

If I think the top VFX companies and top videogame studios, a big % use 3dsmax. ILM, Scanline, Blur, Rockstar, Bethesda, Ubisoft, the list is big.

I don't know man... I tried 3ds max again few days ago and every alternate render was coming in different exposure.. fookin dumb shit..
If I don't touch anything.. don't change the render 😭
what are you using for rendering? I never had this issue.
@@andvfx Arnold. Just a fresh install of 3ds max. I made something, added 3 lights one hdri light, set exposure in camera and environment settings..
And from here the hell started for me..
I tried to troubleshoot what pesky lil thing I'm forgetting to make exposure fluctuate b/w renders..
On internet several people had this issue using vareity of engines.. so due to lack of time that time I just rendered with Maya and vray.
I'll come back to the issue eventually coz I've to use both tools often (different clients different files)
Just get corona renderer and chill 😊
I really wants one thing from 3ds max team. That is UI update. Current UI is really outdated and confusing
agreed, the port to QT has been going on for a long time, its a huge tasks, but should be pushed further. we could see how beneficial it is in material editor, stack search bar, and the motion pannel, where is not only way faster and snappier, but also they are adding more functionality.
I used to love 3dsmax, but i havent even used 3dsmax in a year. Everything i need in unreal engine for free. 3dmax cost $3k yr.
Use max indie lic . It’s just 260 yearly.

@@talat2k4 Not in any serious studio. Our artists can use it, but they have to export into a usable format and the whole thing is sandboxed off from the rest of our pipeline with no dev dedicated to it.
