Upgraded to the 15 plus in Black from the 14 pro as I didn’t need allot of the Pro features anymore and wanted to go back to a larger display. Absolutely love it 😎 AMAZING BATTERY LIFE!
i upgraded from 12pm to 15 plus and so far it lasts 2 days comfortably on a single charge. Also great design, looks and feels very premium

I switched my 14 Pro Max over to 60 hz just for giggles. I noticed right away. Apps opened, for lack of a better term, jiggly. They weren't smooth, even a bit laggy. Switched it back to 120hz. I'll be keeping it for several years. I'm getting old and am losing interest in yearly upgrades. I still love seeing the new tech as it comes out but find I don't need/want it anymore. As always, I enjoy your vids. You do excellent work, sir!
That's true, lol. I tried turning on the "Low Power Mode" to try and get a feel for 60hz on my 14 Pro and it made me actually feel nauseous that Apple is charging $800-$900 for a screen like this in 2023. You can find 120hz on the cheapest Androids so I feel bad for anyone looking to get their first "budget" iPhone and they have to downgrade back to 60hz.
@@adequatequality To be fair, I've been on Apple since the 11 PM. 60hz was fine. 120 SPOILED me! Now I won't have anything less than 90. I saw a Pixel with 90hz and it was plenty smooth. 90 or above. No more 60.
@@billiamnotbob Same here. I bought an iPhone 13 as a secondary phone and took it back the very next day because the 60hz felt so out dated.
@@Rivs5117 I had a 13 mini as a secondary phone as I really like the mini's. I gave it to a pal who's SE 2 was a mess. He likes it and has never experienced the smoothness. Now my other phone is a Pixel 7. I'm reaquainting myself with Android. Nice phone, but I'll stay with Apple.
Went from 12 Pro to 15 Plus yesterday. Loving it so far. Battery life on my 12 pro was really lacking so that was the most important thing for me when upgrading. I'm used to 60 hz so obviously it doesn't bother me to have another 60 hz phone. I had the triple cameras on my 12 pro and rarely used them. Never shot in ProRaw either. I typically used the main camera and since the 15 plus has a much better main camera, this is a great upgrade for me. I just couldn't see another $300 for the Pro Max for only a handful of differences compared to the plus model and usually I would go for the best model.

Wow exactly same reason, i was from 12 pro either. Did pre order the 15 pro max natural titanium color back in Sept 16th (with estimated delivery on NOVEMBER 7-14th). But after watching all review and also i am not sure about new a17 pro 3 nano durability for long run yet (since it is the first one on a phone), so i canceled my 15 PM, ordered the 15 plus at apple store online and got it delivered the next day less than 16 hours! Amazing phone so far

I have the 15 plus in green and I’ve been loving it. Battery is amazing and the cameras are great. No complaints at all

I wanted a pink plus from the moment I saw it announced. Went to an Apple Store the day after launch but they didn’t have any and shipping times were mid November, but they did have pro max’s in stock so I grabbed one. After two weeks of normal use I noticed some screen burn in and took it to an Apple Store. They wanted to replace the unit but did not have the same color/capacity in stock. But they did have a plus in pink, so I grabbed that. Honestly I couldn’t be happier. The cameras are great, battery is great, it’s the size and color I wanted, and I’m one of those weird people (I guess?) who doesn’t notice promotion. It’s also lighter. I’m definitely not a pro user when it comes to cameras, and these seem just fine to me (I think any iPhone from the last five years or so takes great photos) so in the end it all worked out and I’m very happy with the plus. 💞

Just got mine And I love it already.
I think people keep forgetting that the higher speed USB-C controller is built into the 17 pro chip… So there’s no way for the regular 15 model to get the higher speeds because they are using last years chip. That’s the reason. It’s a nice to have, not a must. If you want it, that’s why it’s in the Pro models…

I would really like to upgrade from my 12 to an 15 or 15 Plus. But my 12 is still very strong and I have no problems with it. So I am going to wait at least another year and see what the 16 are going to bring up. The only problem on the regular 15 is the 60hz display. Before I saw them in person for the first time I thought that it was no big difference. But when I looked at the Pro for a bit and then looked back at the regular, I saw how bad it really is. It is not a big problem but it would be nice with that promotion even on the regular models. But even with the lack of 120hz the base 15 models are the best base iPhone models ever.
Had mine ever since launch, I like it very much. I do miss those features such as the 120hz display and camera setup but for the price I paid Im very happy with it. The battery life like you said is a monster and its does everything without skipping a beat. One of the biggest reasons why I bought this over the pro model is for the dynamic island, Im so happy these regular iPhones got it, it just makes the phone look much better also usb c is great as well. I don't mind that data transfer rate is slower compared to the pro, tbh I think its because they never built the usb 3.0 controller into the A16 cpu like they did with the newer A17 "pro" cpu. As for the other features I do understand why they reserve it for the "pro" models because if they didn't have anything to distinguish between the two, most people would settle for the regular one. NGL it would be nice if they brought all the features to the regular iPhone xD But I do get why they don't

@@Ghazalmetal Camera isn’t bad at all, it’s quite good. Low light photos come out great, videos look nice. Overall I have no issues with the camera. If you are someone who needs a telephoto lens then you will be disappointed but if you can live with a 2x zoom (a very high quality crop) then you’ll be just fine.

Good points, if Apple really wanted to differentiate the pro models, you’d think they’d put higher wattage charging capabilities with the pro models now that they have usb-c but it seems the whole lineup charges at the same speed and really just depends on what adapter you use up to 20-30 watts.
Good point, and this basically means they don't have many new features to offer, hence the rationing of features between the regulars and the pros. I really think Apple should take a good 2-3 years off without releasing any new phone and actually work on something that is worth upgrading to. Each year just comes with very minor upgrades, it's ridiculous. You only notice a significant change moving from something like the 11 to the 15 plus as I'm about to do.

I’m going from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 plus. Not too worried about the features you mentioned because I don’t use any of the pro features of my current phone but with the 15 plus I can get it in pink which makes me happy.
coming from an 11 pro max, the 15 plus has been phenomenal. it's helpful that i have never used a 120hz phone so the 15 plus felt amazing. let's just say if you came from a 120hz phone, dont go to a 60hz.

There’s an absolute difference between the 12 Pro Max and 15 Plus. For one, the 15 Plus is insanely lighter. The corners are way rounder. It feels so much better in the hand. The new modem is definitely better. You get better signal and speeds. The screen is brighter. The camera is tremendously better. Definitely worth the upgrade.
Can’t wait to have mine.. I am waiting for my iphone plus order. Currently using iphone 11 pro.. I bet its worth upgrading..😊

Is that having any heating problem is that good to buy now? What is your opinion?
The reason for not having USB 3 speed like pros is the A16 chip. This chip was from last year which was never designed for USB C. The A17 Pro chip has a dedicated USB 3 controller that supports higher speed.
Then why not giving same chip in all four models? To differentiate of course, so that’s why slow 2.0 but why not same chip..to differentiate. Ohh! I’m in loop 🤪
That’s not really a good excuse in my opinion. The iPad Air 4 and iPad mini 6 had the A14 and A15 chips respectively which didn’t have dedicated USB 3 controllers considering the iPhone 12 and 13 didn’t have them, and yet their USBC ports still had USB 3 speeds. Granted, they’re not 10 Gb/s, only 5 Gb/s. But that’s still 10x faster than the USB speeds on any iPhone. Apple could have put a USB 3 port on the iPhone 15 if they wanted to. But they didn’t just to save a few bucks per unit in production and to further differentiate the regular and pro models
@@FooDandDrinkk You put better hardware in the Pro model, and charge more for it - not a difficult concept.
Apple's already having problems keeping up with Pro demand, and had to despec the A17 pro in order to get enough chips. TSMC's 3nm node is not having stellar yields.
@@Marngel The might have used an outboard (separate chip) for USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds.
I'd imagine that space is tight enough in the Pro vs. the Pro Max.
I really am tempted to get the plus this year after years of having various pro max models and barely using it except make phone call, text and occasional photo. I just hope the colors in these phones were better than Apple seems to make them but I realize everyone uses a case anyways.

Apple is known for removing / disabling Pro features in the regular iPhones to differentiate between the Pros and non-Pros.

They should give them atleast 90hz because 60hz on a 800-900$ is ridiculous
They had to hard limit the base model's capabilities as it would be too good if it had all features unlocked (always on, camera, refresh rate) and would cripple their Pro sales. If it had 120hz it is easily the best phone you can buy

just upgraded from the 13 to 15 plus, my 13 was perfectly fine and loved it ! i just needed a bigger screen and w better baterry life and wanted to trade it before the battery health goes too low. So far i have been loving my new phone and i tryly believe that unless you are aphotographer, the plus is so much better, the camera is also insanely greatt !!

2:38 Exactly! That’s why I always buy a screen protector (even if it’s just a liquid screen protector like Liquid Ceramic) first thing and apply it to the even even before I set up the phone 😅
I’ve upgraded from the 11 Pro to the 15 regular and I love it. Battery is great and camera upgrades are nice. Also I noticed that even though Apple doesn’t enable pro res video video recording in the native camera app, the free Blackmagic camera app lets you record ProRes in 4K, along with color space settings and even manual shutter speed, iso, focus control, etc. All this in a free app, not to mention how you can record externally too and that this app is also compatible with older iPhones like the 14, 13, 12, etc.
of course buying the new iphone would make sense, apple slows down every previous iphoe model to force people to buy a new one
I’m quick to criticize Apple but yes there is an excuse why they didn’t include USB3 on the regular iPhone. They used the same chip from the pros from last year which only has a USB2 controller because it was made for an iPhone with lightning.
I upgraded last year from a 11 to a 14 Pro Max. Had I not upgraded then I would have considered the 15 Plus this year. However, due to issues with PwM eye strain I have no choice but to stick with the Pro models. I think promotion plays a role in supporting dci dimming on these models. Otherwise, I think the 15 Plus is the best option for a large iPhone.
Did you feel good with 14 pro max? I have bought 15 pro max and have a huge eye strain.. don’t know what to do and I’m thinking to buy a 15 plus . Maybe it’s better for pwm level…
@@user-lt8vu1jt1z my eyes are sensitive but with brightness above 30% on my 14 Pro Max I have no issues. PWM on non pro models is far far worse so don’t get one.

Plan to go from the iphone 13 to the 15 plus soon. I heard you mention moving the SIM over. The 13 has a physical SIM and I will now need to use a esim with the 15. I think the Apple Quick Transfer should take care of that, but have you had any experience the physical/esim swap?
I bought the 15 pro max because I wanted the best! But for most average consumers 15 plus is a really good choice this year tbh big leap from 14 plus to 15 plus with 48MP camera dynamic island and USB-C

Just I noticed battery this phone at the beginning of was 69 % and at the end was 66% left 3 % battery

i noticed that too in the battery usage by app it said mail was using a lot of power in the background but I always turn off push or fetch mail
USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds are a feature of the A17 Pro which has a high speed USB controller on-chip.
The A16 in the iPhone 15s don't have this logic - thus the USB 2 speeds.
Always on display for a non-LTPO panel would cause drastically decreased battery life, as would 120 hz since you'd have to drive 120 hz whenever the screen was active. There's a reason those Android phones have such gigantic batteries.
I think Apple could have implemented the faster speed since the controller for the inbuilt memory is much faster as well. I think they just didn't do it because they didn't have to

I don't agree on the "no reason they can't include xxx" part. It's like you buy a basic package car and ask the dealer "there's no reason you can't put sport package on this car." Apple is a public traded company not a NPO. Would you ask your sponsor to give us top of line product at the price of a charging brick? of course not.
can you make a comparison video of iphone 15 plus and 15 pro max? not just for features, also comparing with camera with different situations like low light, and battery life. if 300$ different worth to spend for pro max or save for plus model
Apple is now using the non pro line to make even more profit by taking last years Pro using some of the main parts and then stripping it of the 120hz screen, camera, new features, and stripping some features the hardware was capable of last year when it was in a Pro.

I have loved iPhones since the first one came out, but those days are gone, lately iOS is very buggy, laggy, glitchy for many models and I'm tired of it. I can't believe the base model doesn't have at least 90Hz screen refresh rate, instead we're getting slow charging, camera SOFTWARE limitations even with the same chipset of the 14 Pro and Pro Max. Makes no sense and same situation for every year.
doesnt the 15 only have usb2 speeds since its reusing the SOC from last year which only has a usb2 controller on it or something? and to get the faster speeds they would of needed to modify the SOC.
Promotion requires LTPO which is an extra hardware that would cost more. I’d like to see a screen with variable refresh rate from 1-60hz and have AOD on the non-pro models instead.
I think you need an LTPO panel to get a variable refresh rate.
Non-LTPO panels seem to be locked to a fixed refresh rate.
Non-LTPO panels on Android phones seem to allow you to select 60 or 120 hz frame rates, but not a variable rate.
I have the iPhone 15 plus. I find the battery to be outstanding, I easily go a day and half before having to charge it up. I’m super happy with it However I’m not happy with the battery life for the iPad Pro 12.9 6th generation battery is bad

They didn't limit it to usb 2.0 speeds, It's because its using the A16 bionic which was designed around Lightning(2.0 speeds) and not the new USB standard, It's a chip limitation
How long does it take for 15 plus to get full charged?
Thinking about getting either this or the 13 pro not sure if I want to cough up that much money on a phone tho

USB 2.0 is built into the A16 Bionic. There wasn’t a redesign at all to support the upgraded USB 3 speeds. Lack of always on is a miss though.
Which is kind of weird. For the iPad Air 4, it had the A14 Bionic and USB 3 speeds, but the iPhone 12 series had the same A14 Bionic chip, but was limited to USB 2 speeds.
I’m going to switch from iPhone 11 and don’t know should I save a ton a go for the 14 plus or get the 15 plus. All I care about is battery, and probably a little bit about the dynamic island (just looks modern). Can you do a comparison for which is worth it?
Just get the 15 you’ll get usb c 48mp camera newer design and better chip

There’s no need for it really I would rather have the 20% battery then squeak out an extra one to 3% of battery health over the period of a year other than the 14 Pro Max my battery stays at 100% typically for an entire year anyway and then I get a new phone

My iPhone 13 Pro Max was in use exactly 2 years. At the time of trade in the battery health was at 90%. Not to shabby.
Wanted: offering apple pencil capability on iphones for apps which use these larger screens and have counterparts on the user’s iPad.

The usb speed is usb2 because of the controller inside the a16 bionic chip
You keep saying there's no excuse, but Apple has a reason: to encourage people to move up to the more expensive Pro models.
I’m saying that’s not what makes Apple, Apple. They were always known for making the best products available not for releasing compromised products that try and push people to upgrade to the next.

Set your iPhone 13 Pro to 60hz frame rate and your eyes will adjust! It’s not that bad but will take a few days to getting used to
you notice the lower refresh rate at 1st but then after some time you’ll get used to it again. don’t let others fool you into thinking 60hz will be the end of the world cause that’s how they make it seem like when in reality it’s not the end of the world

Not sure why you would consider going from a 2 year-old Pro phone to the regular one when you have to pay extra to go that route. The 120hz is now a standard in smartphones that is found in even the cheapest Android phones by default. I can't believe people in the comments are encouraging you to spend money and basically "tolerate" a cheaper screen cuz it's Apple big woop 😂

1:45 I think they did this because there wasn’t enough space on the A15 die. FWIW I’m keeping my 14+, I’m still mostly at peace with it now. I still don’t love it but it’s been good to me so far

I don’t know why you keep saying that there is no excuse for all the pro features to not be there. It makes perfect sense…what would the Pro models be if all the features of Pro were moved to your Plus?
It’s the same chipset. If they use the similar chipset in the phone, it’s capable of all of those features, but Apple purposely software locks them. Apple has always been about giving the user the best experience, not software locking people so that they’ll spend more money
@@zollotech I understand that, but again if your Plus had Pro features it would be a Pro model not a Plus. I get that software locking things is a crappy thing to do, but if they want to have separate Pro models, the lower models can’t have a majority of Pro features. Why would anyone get a Pro then? For me personally, I like things simple and wish they just had one model of phone each year in different sizes, but unfortunately that it not what Apple does.

The only reason im sticking with the Pros is the 120hz. If they ever bring 90hz to regular iPhone, their sales gonna plummet, HARD!
Hi! The iPhone 15 plus is limited in USB speeds because it uses the A16 processor from 14 pro max which was designed without the hardware needed for USB 3.0+ speeds, since it was meant to coincide with a lightning port which is USB 2 speeds. That’s why the new one is USB 2. Seems to me like Apple was forced to switch over unexpectedly, huh?

I think Apple should ditch non-pro models and just release pro and ultra models.The price difference is too small between non-pro and pro models.

Don’t understand that $30 add on fee for non Pro models? Seems like a penalty charge for simply buying a phone straight up. Saw the “blue”at an Apple Store. It is white, with some slight blue trim. The green seemed to be slightly more colorful. Agree with your opinions about missing features. TY!
Apple has done that for a few years now and I don’t understand why they do that either. I’m guessing they get some sort of incentive from the carriers when you buy it from them.
I certainly agree that the AOD and ProMotion should be on these phones. $800 should get you the best display Apple can put into a phone. At least they did finally give the mainstream phones the Island. However all the extra camera features I can see why they didn’t add them. Most people who will buy these likely won’t understand what ProRES or ProRaw is or likely care what it is. So that, yeah I’m not mad they left it out. But the AOD and ProMotion, should be in there. There’s no more excuses. The only reason is that they want to entice people to the Pro phones.
It’s simple… the iPhone 15 is for those that just want an iPhone. The 15 Pro is for us tech geeks.
Apple is smart to pack all 120hz, better cameras, better USB-C, etc into just the Pro because regular users don’t care about those things.
It’s like cars. The reason there’s a VW Golf and a Golf GTI. One is for people that just want a sweet car, the other is for those that want a sweet car with punch.
Apple never did that in the past though. They’ve changed how they operate and I don’t think it’s for the better. All the way up until the iPhone 8 there were just a couple options and they had all the features every year. Then they differentiated the two and made a worse version on purpose. That’s not good for the consumer.
I care about those things. I would love to see the pro resolution on the non pro models. Think it's crazy to not even have that in 2023. But I don't want to pay that much for the pros and heaviness and they attract the eyes as week so you get stolen. After being attacked by 3 guys for a phone, trust me you think twice before buying another one. There are places you cannot have nice things and Paris is one of them. When I have a non pro model I can use it without being scared for my life. But I wish they would add those features for this price. Pros are really too much.
