Man RD, I had not heard about Linda losing her speech and hearing. Thanks for the update. I've been a Linda fan as long as you have and it crushes me that such a talented lady can't even speak let alone sing. We old folks have to put up with a lot of health issues, some like Linda more than others. Getting old is not for weaklings! One of the guys in a chat told me it was alot more fun being 20 in the 70s than being 70 in the 20s. I concur!
I lost my heart to Linda so many years ago. She has always stood head and shoulders above any of her contemporaries. Her voice and ability to cover so many genres is a feat unparalleled. Thanks Linda❤
@@LeeShcolnik my friend in school had a brother that was Gaga over her. Had all her albums and we would listen all day every day. Their mom and dad would yell and say PLAY SOMETHING ELSE PLLLLLEEEEASE.
She said she doesn’t have the power anymore and that’s not worth inviting people to spend their money! Let me tell you, back in her youth (and mine LOL), I saw her perform at Red Rocks in Morrison, Co, and the altitude periodically stole her voice and oxygen levels; she even had to leave the stage a couple of times, reportedly to GET oxygen. Those of us there, though sorry it was tough on her, would have paid AGAIN to keep her singing! And NOW, would pay just to see her live on stage once more, voice or no voice! Remember, Ms. Linda…not many of us EVER had the powerful voice you did and the power you still possess, over your loyal fans!❤❤❤
I am so saddened by all this wonderful singer has been going through. My prayers are with her. She created the soundtrack of my life with her magnificent voice! She is truly one of a kind. Thak you, Linda for sharing that magnificent talent with us all! You are truly unique! ♥
Linda's singing touches a part of me that I cannot explain. I well up and just lose myself in her voice. Linda, thank you for all that you have so beautifully shared with those who came to love you and your music.
Grew up with her music and amazing voice---I still listen to her music today---So sorry to hear of the problems she is having---Time marches on and isn't very kind in the process---Thank you Linda for the joy you have brought me---You are loved
The last time I saw Linda was 1980, from a front row seat in Shreveport Louisiana. That's still my favorite concert of over 500 in the past 64 years. Linda will always be the Gold Standard of all singers to me. Like millions of other boys, I still have a forever crush on her since the 60s..💙💃🕺🍷😎🥁🎸
Prayers for Linda. I’ve never heard of people losing speech or hearing from Covid. But…today my husband was just told his sudden hearing loss is nerve related. His congestion began with a bout of Covid. Interesting, huh?
She IS the best female vocalist period. Love her vibrato. She is perfect. My heart feels so much on this devastating disease and especially loosing her ability to hear. I know the anguish of hearing loss and it is such a terrible loss when your a music lover. I always continue to pray for Libda. I fell in love with her when i was 10 years old and still I’m her biggest fan. God has blessed this musical world with Linda Ronstadt. No one can hold a candle to her.
Tucson actually had a number of excellent vocal coaches back in the day. The Tucson Boys Chorus founded by Eduardo Caso taught a lot of kids (boys only, of course). Caso was from the UK and sang in the Westminster choir. John Deutschendorf (aka John Denver) was in the TBC for a short while (as was I, but I didn't go on with it). Caso taught many Tucson kids to sing and many local teachers to teach. Of course, her family's musical background ensured she was always in a great environment to learn proper vocal technique. And yes, her use of vibrato is outstanding as is her use of dynamics - the best on the planet in my opinion. F**k this PSP crap.
Dear Linda, I have been a fan ever since you began performing around Tucson, and when you and the Stone Poneys played at my high school gym. I recall walking past a Ronstadt home on West Miramar Drive, going to visit with my sweetie. I always wondered if that was your home, and if I should go and knock on the door... Who knows what might have been? I am so terribly sorry for your health issues, and hope you can make some recovery. Regardless, next to my late mother, a very talented singer in her own rite, you have been my favorite female singer for all these years. Sending good wishes, hugs, prayers and Blessings to you. ❤
The Tucson Music Hall was renamed last year to the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. We Tucsonans love her and the rest of the Ronstadt, who are all talented musicians.
Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear about that. Thank goodness she can now speak, but I hope her hearing also returns! I have the greatest memories of her music, she's always been a beautiful shooting star! ☮☮
Wow I was just watching some classic Linda Ronstadt performances and came across your video. This is deeply saddening news to me as well. To see her so strong and powerful before, and just watching how the human body wears out is sad. I'm 60 and already can barely stand up anymore. I'll keep Linda in my prayers. There's no one even close to a voice like hers in my opinion!🙏
This is so extremely sad for me personally, because I've had the privledge to see Linda in concert 26 times, going back to 1972, when I was 14 years old, up until 2009. I've actually got to see & meet Linda 4 times & if it was a personal experience for me, I've got to thank my mother for taking me to see Linda when I had just turned 14 years old.
I wish Linda complete healing and best wishes.I have seen her perform live when she opened for Neil Young and the Stray Gators in 1973.It was a wonderful evening with lots of outstanding music by both acts.Linda was at the top of her game that night and her voice was marvelous!
When I first heard Different Drum on the radio in 1967 I fell in love with that voice. Went to the store to buy the 45, saw the Evergreen album, and fell in love with that face. Bought both the 45 and the album, and a few months later, after installing an 8-track player in my ‘55 Chevy, bought the tape so I could listen in the car. Glad I also got to see her four times. Best wishes Linda.🙏🏻♥️
I grew up listening to Linda's music there isn't a song of hers I didn't like. Prayers going up for her health struggles and she is still a beautiful woman.
I grew up on her awesome voice and music. I would try to sing like her but of course her vocals were untouchable and so iconic...I wish her all the best & peace in the rest of her journey. ♥
It is a shame especially that her voice was so powerful and clear. Every aging person's troubles is a grim reminder of the fates that await us all. Thank her for the excellent music that she brought us.
So tragic! My heart breaks 💔 in two for her! A legendary female artist of the ages robbed of her sense of hearing and left unable to speak temporarily via the Covid virus…😞😞😞😢 In reference to this rare symptom, I have a female friend who experienced a paralysis of one of her vocal cords back in 2021 due to the Covid virus. It was a solid year or so with a persevering otolaryngologist, proper medication and the assistance of speech therapy before she was able to speak without sounding like she had perpetual laryngitis….a frustrating fight to overcome, needless to say. As for Linda, I am sending positive thoughts and heartfelt encouragement that she recovers with grace and dignity. Blessings to you, Linda! 💜💜🙏🏻
I hope Linda is ok..I miss her & her music brings back lots of sweet memories. I played in a cover bands years ago & we did many of her songs. I wish nothing but the best for her. She truly is one of America's sweethearts!
I have loved Linda Ronstadt since I was in high school in the 70s. I wore out her album “Prisoner in Disguise”. I still know all the words to ALL the songs. My boyfriend at the time worked at a local radio station in those days. I would call him and request one of her songs and he would play it on the air just for me. Her voice was pure. Nothing else like it. I am so glad to have grown up with her beautiful music. Praying for her❤!
Having seen several interviews with Linda after her retirement, I am very sure that in spite of the obstacles that stand before her, she will make the most of what abilities and senses she has. She is a very intelligent lady.
Linda Ronstadt’s music, her voice, were a huge part for f the soundtrack of my youth and for that I’m so grateful. None of us could really belt it out like her but my god we tried and had a blast cruisin’ and singin’! Thank you Ms. Linda, for sharing your gift with us! You have my respect, my admiration and good, good vibes❤
Thanks RD, What a talented lady. Prayers for her and her family. I don't think we know all about Covid's side effects long and short term. Bad stuff for sure. I lost a beautiful family member from this virus. Keep up the great work. Love your channel. Boe

Heard Dr. recently talk about Covid causing traumatic brain injuries in researched patients. When my mom got her second Covid shot and she had a terrible time with it causing her brain to hurt and do really weird sensations… Love Linda’s music and sending good thoughts…
Linda Ronstadt always had the ability to find great songs and song writers, and sang their songs better than anyone. She will be remembered as one of the greatest American female vocalists of all time.
Linda Ronstadt is simply the finest woman singer in Rock, Country and Spanish with a voice that is rich muscular beautiful tone. How sad we do not have singers like her today.
Maybe the lack of speech is significant loss due to the COMBINATION of her Parkinson’s and the effects of Covid, not necessarily a side effect of Covid. Regardless, Linda’s voice, talent and work ethic gave her one of the best voices ever. Linda is a national treasure.
My father had PSP, the illness that Linda is suffering from, he lost his ability to speak and was mute for the last 3 years of his life. PSP is much worse than Parkinson's. There is no cure and the loss of movement, swallowing and speech is profound. The likelihood that Linda will need a feeding tube is great, as this disease progresses. My heart breaks for her since I know exactly how traumatic this illness is, and it does not kill you, only complications from the illness will take your life. Horrible diagnosis!!
This is the first I’ve heard about this. I have several of her albums when I was younger. I always liked her music and the way she sings. I figured when she retired from music she just wanted to be out of the limelight. I hope things get better for her soon. ♥️🙏🙏✝️✝️
My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and then changed to PSP around the same time as Linda. I have always been a fan but now took special interest. My mother had a bad fall almost 3 years ago and spent a long time in a nursing home during Covid but is now at her own home again. She too, experienced profound hearing loss during this time. It is definitely one aspect of PSP. Her speaking ability is declining as well but is not as pronounced. It is hard to watch 😢 it is very possible that Linda might have experienced these symptoms even without COVID.
Thanks for your input. I have lost both parents now and went through some similar issues as you with one. I understand what you are going through and understand how hard it can be. Take care of yourself. Peace.
Sitting here watching reactions to Linda by young people and came across this. I actually yelled out Oh no! And burst into tears when I saw the headline. She is my age exactly. God it must be hard for someone with that talent, whose voice was her identity and her life. So cruel. Bless you Linda. You were so much a part of my teen years.
Besides singing rock, opera, and any genre you can think of, she also put the "Eagles" together. Three of them were her back up band. She's a legend, and the first time I heard her with the 'Stone Ponies" when I was 16, I was hooked.
How heart-breaking that a woman with such a powerful voice and gift for making music should be deprived of her hearing. She is a terrific musician.
Linda Rondstadt has brought so much joy to millions with her extraordinary musical talents. Her declining health makes me cry.
