  • This wall was not build in the conventional way but in a mold all at once and its still possible to move it. I did it this way so it could be in front of a living room window untill the outside kitchen will be build where it will find its permanent place. I think this way of building small Bottlewalls can be very usefull because its fast and ez to get a even wall and you could make a lot of them and arange them into a bigger wall later.

I saw somewhere that aluminum foil was used to put the two halves together making them that much brighter when sunlight shown through.

GREAT idea!! You know they sell that tape, it’s like duct tape but it’s super shiny and metallic instead of the dull grey kind. I bet that would work!

If you put them in a bed of sand, the cement should not stick to the glass on the bottom side.

Amazing idea! How did u keep the underside mortar wet while top side was drying so it could be sponged/cleaned?

Did you do any waterproofing for when it rains? Can you update us as to how it is doing? Any cracking, expansion etc... thank you.

I want to make panels to serve as fence posts/ garden wall and put 6 foot -long cattle panel fence between. I wonder if it is feasible and cost effective compared to alternatives.

Could you explain why you kept it wet?

To prevent cracking while it cures, I think.

Like Lydia said, if concrete dries too fast it will crack. All you have to do it put a sheet of plastic over it allowing it to cure slower. 😁
