Watching Angie's videos must be extraordinarily enjoyable for you after having spent such wonderful times with your step grandfather in his woodworking shop. I spent time in my father's shop when he worked on projects for my mother. As we get older, we think more about prior times, and videos like Angie's bring back the good memories. Enjoy.
Do you have any grandchildren who may take an interest? My sister thinks I am a bit wacky because I much prefer an old timber piece to the Ikea stuff she has filled her house with. I can understand her wanting the clean lines and simplicity, but knowing that, I don't understand why she chose not to take our mother's MCM teak bedroom set. Absolutely agree. I've even spent several relaxing hours watching someone clean carpets 😆 Angie never does less than an excellent job even when in this case (in my opinion) the piece itself is rather boring in design.
I love the "real world-ness" of your videos. You let us see the good, the bad and the ugly...the highlights and the mistakes. That's what makes your videos so special; we learn not to panic, but to look for what to do next with a cool head and a confident demeanor. You are so special in that you let us see warts and all and then dazzle us with how it all turns out in the end. I love your work and your integrity!!!
Oh, Angie...what was a mistake for you was a teaching moment for me. EVERYONE makes mistakes. Not everyone has the courage to admit to their mistakes, let alone to show them. Thank you for sharing your humanity. I love seeing the time you spend cleaning. And sanding. And repairing. And finishing. And anything else you care to share. Maybe your critics should a) start their own UA-cam channel, b) use that finger they used to tune-in, to tune out or c) find a hat and sh** in it because no one gives a sh** but them! There. Thank you so much for including your mistakes. You show how to correct them and that helps us who makes mistakes gain more knowledge. I love this flip. It’s beautiful.
Hi Angie, brilliant job honey. I'm not feeling too well so l shall keep this brief for you. Back in the 70's this was the type of furniture l wanted but at that time just couldn't afford it. You have it so authentic. Love to bunnies and catties. Xxxxxx
I’ve been subbed to your channel forever, and couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t had any notifications of uploads from you in about a year I had to scroll through my subbed accounts, and here you are. Get it together UA-cam!
This piece turned out fabulous! Please, keep sharing the steps you take because there may be newbies who may not have even thought about a step until they saw you performing it. The more experienced folks can skip those parts they find tedious. Always be true to your gut feeling. Post what you want and what you think is necessary. This is your playground, we are simply allowed access to it. 💗
I always quite enjoy the cleaning process. It is the first step in restoration, and important to show the promise a piece holds. And yeah, it takes some time but please: in this modern society where basically everything needs to be finished yesterday, can we slow down a bit? Take some time and effort to actually appreciate what we are doing? Angie, I love your work! You create beautiful things and I admire all the work you do, including the cleaning process!
To those who think watching the cleaning process edited down to a few minutes is boring, try doing it for hours. WAAAAY more exciting - not. God people will complain about anything. Thank you Angie for keeping it real. I actually enjoy watching the cleaning process as that can be a mini transformation in itself. Well you certainly had your work cut out for you with this one and that hiccup with the finish - oh my heart went out to you. Just when you think you're close to the finish line hey? You did a great job on it. It's been completely refreshed and rejuvenated. Now if only I could do the same to my body!!!
I love watching you meticulously clean an old piece. So satisfying to watch the transformation. (And sooo much better than actually doing the cleaning myself!)
I agree. Angie uses finishes that are much more attractive than the original factory finish. A lot of furniture last century used to look like milk chocolate - I never liked it.
I appreciate the HONESTY on how long it takes do the "boring" cleaning. I don't find it boring - it's just part of the process! LOVE how this turned out!
Born in 1949, my sister and I had MCM bedroom suites. By the time I had my own house and needed furniture, I knew what I didn't want - yep, MCM. Well, you are a persuasive devil, Angie, and although I don't need furniture any more, I wouldn't mind a couple of the MCMs you have restored. You are an artist!!! 😺
People definitely are. haha! We all have our likes and dislikes and different attention spans, but I stick firm to my decision to not try and gloss over one of the most important parts, no matter how boring! haha But I know full well that it won't appeal to everyone.
I love when you do a coffee table... I feel like they really showcase your incredible skill and talent- my guess is they are deceptively difficult - there's just nowhere to hide! Great job as always.
I love the colors and the finish and everything about how this table came out. You are the best among my furniture refinish channels. Huge difference between what you do and what others do.
Incredible job Angie! Saving this piece from the literal muck! The richness and depth of the grain is amazing. Oopsie's happen and you recovered very well. Awesome job as always!!
This is gorgeous Angie! Not only did u save a MCM table from the trash, but u made an amazing comeback after a mistake. Now people following u will see how to correct a mistake. That’s more valuable than a ‘perfect’ restoration.
Hey Angie! I’m a middle school band director here in the US, and I’ve used those same peel and stick foam sound panels. When I wanted a nicer look in my office, I used Rockwool insulation (for great sound absorption AND it’s fire resistant!). I made a simple wood frame and placed it in the center. If you get burlap, it’s loose enough in the weave to allow the sound to pass through it and get absorbed in the Rockwool. Wrap the panel in burlap as if you are covering a seat and staple it to the back. You can make customized panels AND you can get dyed burlap to add color if you wish. It’s far superior to those foam panels and it’s also easy to hang up or take down if you want to repaint your walls. ❤
Oddly enough, for my upcoming office redo, I have some of that style of panels I picked up from fb marketplace, and also plan to make a few of my own. :-)
I love it! Thanks for leaving in theistake and how you fixed it!! We all mess up and that was so cool to see how you corrected it! It's gorgeous!! PS - I'm looking forward to watching you build all your office storage!
I love that when you refinish pieces that need to be toned you enhance the woods grain pattern instead off blocking it like the original finish. It adds so much more life to the piece.
You breathe life into every piece of furniture you restore. I love how each one feels like they have a story to tell and you uncover it. Another wonderful transformation! I can't wait to see what you do with your office!
When you see something like this brought back to life, you understand just how elegant and clean mid-century modern furniture was and why it's still so popular.
I love your cleaning sessions. Don't skip or shorten them because you're right that cleaning cannot be stressed enough. I really like how you pay attention to the underside of the table and work with it until it is as gorgeous as the top and legs. The finished table is a masterpiece anybody would be proud to have in their home.
Looks great! And I bet you'll make a tidy profit on it. Being angry at yourself for making a mistake: I am very mistake-prone in my own crafts, and so used to spend a lot of time making myself miserable about that. Finally decided to simply accept that I am mistake-prone. And so, like you, I have become a super good problem solver. Now, instead of beating myself up when I make a mistake, I take pride in my creative problem solving. And I'm much happier.
Great job and recovery at the end. I’m glad you share everything as it really does help to teach other people the realities of your work. And most importantly, how to recover from the oopsi times. ♥️👍🏻♥️
Angie, you rocked this!!! It's beautiful! I love watching you renew things; it's very meditative for me. (Not so much for you perhaps. You're doing all the work! 😁) ❤ To the person who complained about the cleaning segments being too long, here's a tip; 》》FAST FORWARD. LEARN TO USE IT. (And get over yourself. 🤨 ) Many of us enjoy and learn a lot from the cleaning segments. Personally, I love the sound of Angie's voice and would listen to her read the back label of every product in her shop if she wanted to.
Always appreciate you including your "whoops" moments. These things happen. You are a pro at addressing the problem and moving on. It looks awesome. Well done!
There is not a paint on Earth that is as beautiful as natural wood grain. I'm always so happy when these beauties are restored to their former glory, and not painted over.
It’s important to always show the cleaning process bc of how you can damage the wood if you just start sanding or scrapping. It’s all part of the process. My brother is a 40+yr body mechanic and I know he’s made that mistakes more than he’d like to admit. It happens but it’s frustrating bc of the added work. But you’re such a perfectionist that ya can’t even tell it happened. Well done..another save from the dump ❤️
I am not a woodworker at all but I love your videos. You are so good at what you do, your attention to detail, how you teach all the steps (including how to clean the pieces) is what I am here for. I’ve been watching your channel for awhile now and you make me want to get into woodworking and restoring older pieces that others would throw away. Thank you for another great video! I used to watch woodworking shows on PBS when I was little and you bring that back for me in a modern way😊 Thank you!
What a lovely, elegant coffee table. Who’d have thought that beautiful walnut grain was hiding underneath! I like your little round hand sander. That looks easier to use than a sanding block!
I love it! and for the cleaning and prep time or even sanding time - I find it important to give the viewers a glimpse of how time consuming these steps are when it's done as meticulously and thoroughly as you do it. We have friends with teenage kids who get highly frustrated when trying to bake a cake following tiktok! so you're doing it exactly right in my opinion ❤ love from germany
The walnut veneer on the top is gorgeous, one of the most wood beautiful patterns imaginable. And the length of the table serves to highlights the amazing organic "design." Again, a delight to watch you, Angie. Oh, and by the way, I enjoy the lengthy detail of your cleaning. It's relaxing, to the point of mesmerizing. YAY!
I've never been a fan of walnut in general, but every piece you do with it looks absolutely amazing, better than many new pieces that I've seen. Thank you for sharing your fantastic work.
You Angie and Dashner Design are never afraid to use those teachable moments and I for one am extremely grateful. Doing this has an incredible learning curve. When restorations are presented in a pretty tidy package it’s easy to assume it will be easy peasy. Still a novice and when I’m stuck with a dilema I got to the “teachers” for guidance. Beautiful piece as always. Bravo 👏🏽
This was really interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts / speculations on what this coffee table had been through. As an aside - I’ve never once thought you showed “too much cleaning” on this channel. I’ve always admired the way you strike a great balance between showing us all the different aspects of the restoration process without boring us but also without detracting from the fact that the steps of the process are often long and repetitive. Disillusionment as a beginner is a very real issue. You’ve given me a much more realistic picture of what the high quality restoration process looks like. I now have a much greater appreciation for furniture and furniture restorers.
You nailed it completely- the process IS often long and repetitive! :-) I do my best to convey that without being monotonous but clearly, someone will always be annoyed no matter what, haha. Thank you for your viewership, and for taking the time to post a message :-)
Even though you had a pain in the butt event 😮. The table is absolutely amazing! And the wood grain is beautiful! It looks so much better! Your work is always awesome! Fantastic job transforming the water damage and bringing this beauty back to life! 😊❤
Hi Angie, I cant believe how rude some people can be. If they get bored with watching you clean a piece, they dont have to watch it then. The rest of us think your work is amazing and we learn so much! Keep them coming!!
We learn more from our mistakes, than we do our victories. On the one hand, you will be more mindful of where you set your various cans of product. On the other hand, you practiced a very valuable skill in handling a difference in levels of finish to create a seamless end result. That Table is gorgeous! It looks brand new! Thank you, for allowing it's natural beauty to sing, again.
I wouldn't change A THING about your videos. I so enjoy spending time with you and your calming nature through tedium and excitement. This table is stunning.
I appreciate listening and watching the process from start to finish on all your projects because every one of them is different... cleaning included. Instead of complaining, those people could have just fast forwarded through it and moved on. This was such a poor looking coffee table, and you made it beautiful! Your boo-boo isn't noticeable, but to you. Great job, Angie!! 😊
Beginner here: Such amazing work! I really appreciate the detail you go into, even the cleaning, but especially the mistakes. It helps me be more confident to tackle my Broyhill walnut table I've been afraid of and less frustrated in my own mess-ups. Your channel, more than any other, has been my guide to getting started in furniture restoration as a new hobby. Thank you!
We are human thus prone to making mistakes. You did your best to rectify the error and from my point of view gave the top a bit of character! Beautiful job, Angie❤
Angie it doesn't even look like the same table. Your meticulous attention to detail bring always brings about a beautiful restoration. Your videos are truly inspiring and I've learned so much!
Your videos (including the cleaning parts) are NOT boring!! You keep doing you! And also, thanks for showing us your mistakes. We can all learn from each other's mistakes. This piece is beautiful and looks fantastic!
Angie it’s gorgeous as always. Also I don’t agree with the viewer who said the cleaning is boring. I’ve been refinishing furniture for twenty years as a hobby and I still learn things from you about cleaning that have been so helpful. I’m glad you put it in the video because it’s truthful and you’re not glossing over how hard it is to clean a piece. Also I wanted to say I love it when you use lacquer. I think it’s a close second behind the Odies oil. I’ve not used it very much and so I learn a lot from you. I tend to use stains when I work. I need to branch out and you just inspire me so much. So grateful for your videos.
I enjoy watching each step in your restoration process (cleaning, sanding, priming etc). Please continue doing what you always have, don't change a thing!! I love your videos.❤
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery I think you are extremely talented, and I wish you where on this side of the Atlantic, so I might buy some of your restorations. 😊🌻

Many of us enjoy and learn a lot from the cleaning segments. Personally, I love the sound of Angie's voice and would listen to her read the back label of every product in her shop if she wanted to.
Oh wow! Thank you so much for this!!! ❤️
Keep on doing your thing, your way! Even the cleaning 😂😂😂
Always!
Always appreciate you including your "whoops" moments. These things happen. You are a pro at addressing the problem and moving on. It looks awesome. Well done!
Thank you very much! 😊
Beautiful.. !! appreciate the honesty with the mistakes … helps us learn and try things and go easier on our mess ups too!
Thank you!
Fantastic job as always Angie don't be so hard on yourself hugs from Ireland 😊 Rebecca 💚☘️
Thank you so much Rebecca! 😁
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery have a great day 👍
Love the richness of the final result. It’s beautiful.
Thank you so much! 😊
There is not a paint on Earth that is as beautiful as natural wood grain. I'm always so happy when these beauties are restored to their former glory, and not painted over.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Jodi! 😀
@@TranscendFurnitureGallerybtw..I love your high lights. Your hair looks so shiny and healthy. (40 yrs of being a barber stylist) 🥴😬
Honestly the cleaning is my favorite part of the video sometimes, it’s so satisfying
Thank you! That's great to know!
Your videos are PERFECT! You are one of the very few refinishers that I trust!
Wow, thank you!
More amazing work, Angie! Thank you so much!
You're so welcome! 😀
You're so welcome! I'm so glad you enjoy my content!!! 😀
She is lovely!!! Great job on repairing the boo boo! 🎉❤🎉
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
What a lovely, elegant coffee table. Who’d have thought that beautiful walnut grain was hiding underneath! I like your little round hand sander. That looks easier to use than a sanding block!
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
I love it! and for the cleaning and prep time or even sanding time - I find it important to give the viewers a glimpse of how time consuming these steps are when it's done as meticulously and thoroughly as you do it.
We have friends with teenage kids who get highly frustrated when trying to bake a cake following tiktok!
so you're doing it exactly right in my opinion ❤
love from germany
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
YAY!
Thank you kindly Molly! 😊
I've never been a fan of walnut in general, but every piece you do with it looks absolutely amazing, better than many new pieces that I've seen. Thank you for sharing your fantastic work.
You're incredibly welcome! 😊
Oh wow, water and mud damage and remaking it in this beauty. I love walnut. Well done.
Walnut is definitely my favourite! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Love the wood and the simple lines. If you were perfect how would we learn to fix our mistakes!
Thank you so much! 😊
Bravo 👏🏽
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Outstanding transformation ❤ beautiful table, well done and it’s great to see you showing how to get around a mishap, thank you….
You're welcome! ☺️
I’m really glad that you show all of the steps, including the cleaning. I like the realism. The coffee table came out beautifully!
I'm so glad you like how it turned out! 😊
It also reminds me of the Lane Rhythm collection. I’m working on a Lane Rhythm dresser now. The coffee table looks beautiful!
Beautiful! I love your work and your videos.
I appreciate that, thank you so much! 😊
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Girl you can keep all the cleaning you like in your videos, I personally like watching it!
Yay! Thank you!
Hi Angie, I cant believe how rude some people can be. If they get bored with watching you clean a piece, they dont have to watch it then. The rest of us think your work is amazing and we learn so much! Keep them coming!!
I really appreciate that! Thank you! 😊
Just lovely. There's very few things prettier than a walnut table. You've rescued it from ugly.
Thank you very much! 😊
You're very welcome!
Beautiful new life for this coffee table! Your patience and skills are always amazing!
Thanks so much! 😊
Proper cleaning and prep is SO important, and understanding that it requires multiple passes and steps prevents sloppy restorations down the line.
Absolutely! Thank you very much for watching! 😊
It’s very valuable to learn how to ‘recover’ from bumps in the road, so to speak. That’s very valuable information for anyone to have.👏👏👏👏
I wouldn't change A THING about your videos. I so enjoy spending time with you and your calming nature through tedium and excitement.
This table is stunning.
Wow, thank you! 😊
I appreciate that! Thank you very much! 😊
Good for you, sticking to your methods. People love criticizing stuff they’ve never done themselves.
They sure do!
Thank you!
You're very welcome! I'm so glad I could help! 😀
You are a class act! Wonderful just wonderful!! Bravo!
Thank you so much! 😊
We are human thus prone to making mistakes. You did your best to rectify the error and from my point of view gave the top a bit of character! Beautiful job, Angie❤
Thank you so much Mary! I appreciate that!
It’s beautiful! I couldn’t see the wood at all and now we can see the gorgeous grain on the top. I love your music choice for today’s video.🌸
Thank you so much Deborah! I'm glad you like it! 😀
Angie it doesn't even look like the same table. Your meticulous attention to detail bring always brings about a beautiful restoration. Your videos are truly inspiring and I've learned so much!
I'm so glad I can help Ann! 😊
Simply stunning Angie! Unbelievable yet again. Star act👏👏👏👌👌❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
Again, beautiful work Angie! Even in repairing a boo-boo, you can see that you're a perfectionist, artist, and professional. Gorgeous table!
Thank you so much Linda!
Your videos (including the cleaning parts) are NOT boring!! You keep doing you! And also, thanks for showing us your mistakes. We can all learn from each other's mistakes. This piece is beautiful and looks fantastic!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I appreciate you Gayle!
Im so glad you gave this piece a second life. Looks super sleek and modern without being minimalist. Excellent!
Thank you kindly!
I love the long, low profile of this piece. That beautiful grain on the top was hidden until you uncovered it. Another lovely transformation.
I'm so glad you like it!
Beautiful 😍 I am sure it is sighing in relief that someone finally removed its mud mask 😂
I sure hope so! 😊
I'm so glad you enjoy them! 😊
I enjoy watching each step in your restoration process (cleaning, sanding, priming etc). Please continue doing what you always have, don't change a thing!! I love your videos.❤
I'm so glad you enjoy them!! 😊
Yep, you did it, again! Took it from close to ruin, to make it look absolutely fantastic! ❤❤❤
Nearly ruined it again in the process but I think I made a decent save in the end, haha!
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery I think you are extremely talented, and I wish you where on this side of the Atlantic, so I might buy some of your restorations. 😊🌻
You completely revitalized this poor table! I love the rich walnut color you’ve achieved.
Thanks so much! 😊
The difference is that you go through the process and teach along the way. This flip is a new journey and mystery to you. This piece is a challenge, I am certain. One, most would shy from. I have learned so much through your trial and error. Thank you so much for your efforts, honesty, and dedication. ❤
You're incredibly welcome! 😊
