Such fun! And I don’t know how many I got right, but I certainly learned a lot today ha ha Thank you so much for doing the quizzes. Next time I will do better! 😄
I didn't keep track of correct answers on this one because I did not think I would do well, but I did better than I thought I would. These quizzes are fun.
The Valley of Achor is what is mentioned in Joshua chapter 7; not Hinnom, from question 15. Also, the Rock mentioned in Matthew 16 is Jesus; but Peter was a piece of that rock, as his name implies!
Question number 19 the correct answer is Jesus not Peter, the church is built on the truth that Peter proclaim Mat 16:13-20, wow…of the church is build on Peter,🙏
Jesus is The Rock on which the church is built on...Jesus was referencing Peter's reply..YOU ARE THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD...also...Jesus..the Rock is in accordance with the rest of scripture..Peter means stone...or small stone..pebble...Petros..in either the Greek or Hebrew...even question 20...the ROCK MY SAVIOUR...is in context with all of scripture Jesus is The Rock
Question 19 is incorrect.. the stone was the statement which was a statement about Jesus.. Jesus called Peter a peeble not a stone. Bad theology is never corrected by correct answers to questions.
John you are very right . I was about to say the same. Actually "this Stone" upon which the church would be built was the REVELATION OF CHRIST (that Peter had) , not Peter.
Hey looking for a little help I know David took 5 stones, i heard the other 4 were for Goliath’s brothers but I don’t remember reading that anywhere in the Bible. Please help
I love your quizzes but was a little thrown off by number 8. Of course Jesus was correct, but didn't Peter also use the rejected stone becoming the cornerstone phrase in Acts 4:11?
@Cary Rodda 🎯 A fantastic spot. Top of the class. 😊 Feel free to add another 2 points on to whatever score you got - which with knowledge like that, may mean you got 21/20! 😉
The Church is built on Christ, the Cornerstone, and not Peter. It's the confession of Peter that Christ is the Messiah/ Son of God that Jesus was referring to regarding the Church being built upon, not Peter himself, because was only a sinner/ man.
GREAT ERROR-Question 19, upon whom would Jeus build His church? In Matthew 16:18 we read that Peter was a stone (petros) and Jesus would build His church upon bedrock (petra) which was Jesus Himself. This is crucial for great doctrinal error comes from a false understanding of this verse.
Who was the rock on whom the church would be build - Peter? Really ? Or could it rather be, that what Peter said? "You are the Christ" - I thought Jesus is the Rock on which the church is build.
The Rock the Church is built upon is NONE other than Jesus Christ, the Rock (Petra) of Ages, not Peter (Petros, a little stone) a mere man (whom Jesus later called SATAN moments later in the same chapter of Matthew 16). "And Jesus answered and said unto him (speaking to Peter), 'Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona, for flesh and BLOOD has not revealed it unto you (the identity of Christ as God's Messiah), but My Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto you, that you are PETER (the Greek is "Petros", meaning a small stone), and upon this ROCK (the Greek is "Petra", meaning a mighty boulder, which represents CHRIST and His Word) I will build My church." Matthew 16:16-17. Peter (Petros) is NOT the Rock the church is built upon: the Rock is Christ and His Word (Petra). Christ was telling Peter that he, Peter, would be a small LIVING stone built upon the Rock of Christ and His Eternal Word. The Roman Catholic Church misinterpreted this verse 1,500 years ago, (ignoring the original Greek meanings of those two words) and created the UNBIBLICAL (actually heretical) office of POPE ("Vicarii Cristo"; meaning literally, IN THE PLACE OF CHRIST- which is the actual meaning of the word ANTICHRIST!). Jesus Christ is the HEAD of His Church, not the Pope in Rome. Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to REPRESENT HIM, not a mere sinful man, elected by other sinful men. Hope this clarifies Matthew 16:16-17 for some people.
I do not say this to be rude…. I thoroughly enjoy listening to your reading of the Bible….. I only say this as a source of teaching/education for you…… Some of your questions and answers are twisted. “LEGION” is not a persons name…. It refers to the fact that the man processed had “hundreds…. Possibly Thousands of evil spirits in him”. That reference was used due to the fact it was what people were aware of back then…. ‘A Legion of Roman Soldiers’…. For Example, Just like the reference in the Old Testament when it says “Lots wife turned into a pillar of salt”….back then it meant that a woman was unable to bare children’
Hi, thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. I see what you're saying, but it's hard to avoid calling the man "Legion" when the contact is described in Mark 5 is thus: 9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” I realise that is actually the demons talking from inside the man, but at the same time I don't doubt the the people around the man would've accepted it as his nickname...and then name. I reckon the people still called him Legion after he was freed too, especially if they never knew him before the spirits got their grip. Nicknames have a habit of sticking don't they?! 😊
The Bible is not a reliable historical source because it does not meet the standard criteria of source reliability used by historians. The Bible is not, as many believers assume, eye witness testimony. Reliable sources are generally based on authors who were eye witnesses to an event (i.e. it is a primary source). Since any particular source may be fabricating their story, multiple independent sources are usually required for confidence. Establishing the lack of author biases, including religious motivations, is also necessary if a work is to be read at face value. The Bible satisfies none of these requirements. Based on historical and archaeological research, there are known historical inaccuracies in the Bible. The Bible is considered mythological by most historians. Historians know the Gospels are largely or entirely myths because they share the same characteristics in that they are an apparently normal story except: The text is structured to convey an underlying meaning, usually to convey some political or value system, Using symbols that are familiar the intended audience. Refers to or retells other myths and stories but often some aspects are changed to make a specific point. Historical improbabilities, occurrence of miracles or people acting unrealistically. Lack of corroborating evidence. People do more research on their Cars and Homes they buy. But not on the religion they live life by... Blind Obedience is a Dangerous Thing... Christianity may be considered a religion, but it was actually developed and used as a system of Mind Control to produce Slaves that believed God decreed their Slavery. DOING REAL RESEARCH WILL SHOW YOU IT'S ALL BEEN A LIE... And “NO” you can't use the Bible to prove the Bible. That's not how “TRUTH” works. That's using a book of LIE'S to tell false TRUTHS...
Hi Tommy, brilliant stuff but you are quoting modern day authors whom you believe totally but discard the writngs of the Biblical writers. Your choice but at some time the eyes of the blind will be opened. Not so?

Question #3 incorrectly references Hebrews 11 as the scripture that answers that question. It should be 1 Samuel 7:12.
Well spotted! My guess is there's another quiz with Hebrews 11 as a reference at around Qn 3 🧐😅
Peter is a little rolling stone but Christ is The Rock on which he is building His Church. 19 is an error on your part.
4
Ebenezer stone story is not in He 11, but in 1Sm 7, 12
Question 19: JESUS is the Rock, not Peter.
I love your quizzes but was a little thrown off by number 8. Of course Jesus was correct, but didn't Peter also use the rejected stone becoming the cornerstone phrase in Acts 4:11?
