I worked as a research assistant as an undergraduate student at Indiana University with the internationally renowned botanist, Dr. Charles Heiser PhD. He studied the origins of commercially important plants including hot peppers, sunflowers, and tomatillos. We worked on hybrids of Capsicum annulus pequin, a pepper used in commercial hot sauce manufacturing. They were rated up to 60,000 Scoville units which is way hot! Some of the habeñeros and ghost peppers you grow and harvest are even hotter! I had to wear latex gloves and wash my hands thoroughly before touching anything delicate! My Dad sampled a pepper while visiting unknowing how hot they were. I'll never forget how red his bald head and face got , nor his statement that anything that hot should be "illegal" ! Your video reminded me of the fun I had pollinating pepper flowers with a fine paint brush nearly 50 years ago when I was in college. I smiled thinking about my Dad's pepper foul! He's gone now, so thanks for creating a video that brought back a great memory including him! Great video content, and amazing colors!
I grow Carolina Reapers, Ghosts, Red Habanero, Jalapeños, Poblano, Banana, Big Red Bells, Lunchbox & Jimmy Nardello peppers, and 7 varieties of tomatoes, and set out FREE organic veggies to whom ever wants them. (I place hot peppers in sandwich baggies so folks won't get the oils on their hands). I love it...I never see who stops by to pick up the veggies, but the baskets are empty by the next day!! I really enjoy growing them, peppers are so neat but I really like the odd shapes the Reaper, Ghosts & Habanero come in & I love the colors!. Lol
Very civil to share with others. The variety of shapes and colors is intriguing. We share our sunflowers with an organization called "Random Acts of Flowers" where volunteers make floral arrangements for shut-ins, and people in retirement homes.
Yes, to the live! I have been watching Daniel and Sadie's channel for a while and love their content! Congratulations to Daniel and Sadie on their new channel!!
---Jacky.....I agree. I especially love the sound of the corn! What amazes me, is HOW many peppers are produced from ONE plant! Plus, they are SO pretty, love the array of colors. Bev in Maine
@@beverlygiroux2824 I thought the same thing my friend. One plant produces a lot of peppers. I wish I could grow a garden like that here where I live in America a small town called Quapaw oklahoma.
@@Jacky-js4fy --golly, if you have a plot of even less than an acre, plant away! I am now 81, so my gardening days are pretty much over. But, living here in rural Maine, plenty of gardens around, and most of them have garden stores. Lucky me !
Look at the colors of those peppers 🌶️ - wow! I've listened to the sounds of everything being harvested but I can't hear a favorite as they all have that familiar fresh sound. Yum!! ❤
I thought you were going to say that Tracey was expecting a child, I bet she enjoys getting out of that kitchen for a change. Andrew I have been in the hospital for 2 months and your videos have really helped me through this. Everything is so happy and uplifting with your family, it helps me stay positive because it is all good stuff, I absolutely love your children 😀🤓😊😁
OOOOOOHHHHH a live stream of the market? Yes Please?!?! At least once?. Those peppers looks simply amazing! love the yellow and orange ones in particular. Question: Those giant pumpkins you are growing, are they ornamental only or can they be eaten? Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.
Everything looks so beautiful on the farm! Everyone is very busy and I can’t believe how big those pumpkins are😳…wow! Ronnie and Lily are getting so big🤗.
Fall is here, folks! It feels so good to have the air start to cool and the harvests to look forward to. Does anyone else love this moment, when the weather is mild and the crops are ripe?
I have been watching Daniel and Sadie as well as Joel. I love all of you. Grammy needs to be featured on Daniel's channel sharing her recipes as well. I love her spunk!
Produce looks so wonderful. Wish I was close but live in Texas. Y’all are such a hard working family. Keep those videos coming. Makes my day to watch your family. May God bless you all.
You should set up a fall themed selfie photo op with one of the big pumpkins outside the market. A little hay bale to sit on, some smaller pumpkins and gourds, corn stalks.. it would be so cute!
I am lucky number 226 to like the video...I have shared already and commented that we could get everyone to bring one friend along the hayride that is this channel. Hugs from Esquimalt
I love the picking of the peppers and the tomatoes, it sounds so good and the colors are so beautiful. Watching Callie makes me want to try kohlrabi, looks so good.
My favourite peppers are the Pablano peppers. I love them in soup or chicken recipes. When you make the Cowboy Candy make sure you film it and show us!
I feel blessed joining your vlogs. I love your family, the family unity. The farm, veggies, the animals, plants, flowers , the farm store & eveyone are all amazing! Watching from Glendale, California . I'm from the Philippines & we have the same family traditions, we stay together & help each other. God bless & stay safe everyone ❤❤❤
Hi Andrew another great video ,I'm amazed a the pepper harvest, last year was not a good one, I'm so jealous of all your customers sure wish I could get my hands on alot of them, I hope it keeps going for a long time, God Bless the Oche Farm🍅🥔🌽🌶🫑🥬🥒🥦
Let us know when Matt has his own channel. Then we'll watch for sure!! It's Andrew, Grandpa, & Matt! & all the girls for sure. Grandma is one of the girls!! God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi 🙏🏻 ❤️ ♥️
We raised Silver Queen when I lived on the farm as a young man and later tired Trucker's Favorite and raised both of them. Boy were they good! Even today, many years later, I still prefer white corn. Thanks for mentioning SQ, it brought back so many good memories.
Andrew, I have watched all of Daniel and Sadie's videos since they first started their channel and they are definitely fun. Also, even though he isn't technically family, I still think Petey should start his own channel. Whenever he is in one of your or Joel's videos everyone loves him. He could have a channel about old farm equipment since he seems to really love that stuff and know a lot about it. And I don't think you even meant to make a pun but I couldn't help laughing when you said you did your due "dill"-igence checking to see if there was any dill for the customer😂! A friend of mine has been growing a giant pumpkin all summer and just took it to the weigh-in competition today. It weighed 1,016 lb! Before you pick your big pumpkins, check out some UA-cam videos on giant pumpkins and you will see they usually use a system of nylon straps that they slide under the pumpkin and attach to a loader to move them. I'm sure you guys could rig up something like that.
You are a natural pleasant voice on your topic and experience interesting and thoughtful you remind me of mel bartholomew a wonderful representative of your organization and American farming
I wonder if Daniel and Sadie could “borrow” some of Lauren’s recipes? They sure look delicious!!! Thanks Andrew and family! Sure wish I lived closer. The peppers are fabulous !
Those lunch peppers are good for appetizer, stuffed them with farmers cheese. The farmers cheese you mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, etc.I make my own farmers cheese, hard to find in the store, or if I found it is very expensive. Have a blessed week.
Live stream in the farm market would be cool if you can manage it. Love Daniel and Sadie's channel. And of course I love a Stable Life!! Make sure to get the pumpkin lifting on video!!!
Hey everyone!!! 👋
👋Just subbed!
You guys need to release your videos on Friday so we can look forward to a Veggie Boys/Stable Life video every day.
Hello 👋 Daniel! 👍🙏
