If you want to eat here then go during dinner time and arrive about 30 minutes early. You're pretty much guaranteed to be in the first round of orders if you do that. I've been to Nakiryu 3 times. Changed my life and blew every other ramen I've eaten out of the water when I lived in Japan for 4 years. They're known for their Tantanmen but frankly the Shoyu ramen is better in my opinion. However, I went again after COVID and their remodel and when I went it was...different. It looks the same but the quality just wasn't what it used to be. Still a great bowl, but I ended up finding a better place I went to more often in Akasaka. Still haven't tried Ginza Hachigou or Tsuta though. I will when I go there again on vacation though.
This is not only the best ramen I have ever eaten. It is the best thing EVER I have eaten. My jaw muscles were shaking because of how incredibly delicious the ramen was. I was in heaven
I'm just fascinated that a Ramen in this restaurant is cheaper than Ramen in the restaurant here in my city of Brno, Czech Republic which I would assume is far behind the quality of this restaurant in Tokyo.
@@hracekkthe price of Michelin star ramen in Tokyo is cheaper than the regular ramen here in Canada. After Covid the average price for ramen is about $16-$19 Canadian. It’s stupid expensive. A lot of people have stopped going because of the inflation and restaurant owners increased the price out of proportion.
I've been here but it took me two attempts. First time in 2017 we came for lunch and they were renovating so we walked less than a mile to the other Michelin-Starred Ramen House, Tsuta. Came back to Japan in 2019 and we came about 45 mins before opening, and we were the first ones inside! It was of course amazing. I don't remember that fancy ordering machine so that must have been added after our visit.

it probably because chef's in asia don't open a restaurant only for getting a michellin star like in Europe. In Japan, you can eat Michelin-grade food at this price, but how much does it cost to eat at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the world? I think the cost of a meal in Japan today is very inexpensive by global standards.
In Hong Kong you can have a Michelin starred meal for $1.50. It's not like Michelin is the best thing however, lots of corruption going on in that organization...
I am Indian and I've always wanted to taste ramen at least once in my life. I've only watched videos of it so far and am waiting for the opportunity to try it myself.
This was the first ramen place i visited in my first trip to japan. Got there at 11am and the wait was at least an hour long. Given the expectations and the wait, i was disappointed.
Great ramen! will visit for sure. It is not rated Michelin one start though. It is awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand, which means outstanding with affordable price, but not good enough to be one star.
Can see why a younger crowd as well as average westerners would love this and is given a michelin star. It strikes a good balance between preparing food cleanly (being an open kitchen in front of customers) and overall very presentable on the dining table. Though looking at how (and how long) they 'decorate' the toppings, mostly pre-cooked and refrigerated, and leaving the soup and noodles in the bowl idled for that long, real gourmets or ramen lovers may find it overhyped.
Dan dan noodles the taste is really good. Noddle texture is my liking. Presentation is decent. It was 2.5 hours I spent for a seat last November. I won‘t do it again.
No, this an absolutely wrong statement. People in Japan will line up for the most bang average stuff sometimes. I swear Japanese people LOVE queueing. They see a line and just go line up too because the place MUST be good if people line up for it right? Wrong. If this were true, it would mean Ichiran is great. Which it isn't.

the reason why they line up is because of channels like this and silly star ratings. you need to think more about things before you come to conclusions. there is some goodness to this place but you will come to realize the truth as you get older or time passes.
@@erickv1427 they are still charging $8 though? That's not typical supply/demand economics. If they can keep the quality high at $8, they should be able to expand.. if not, the price should rise to decrease demand.
Maybe they are just new and have ideas for the future. Doesn’t hurt to raise your profile with a video from a good utuber. No? Reminds me of a famous chain called W……a. Being smaller and not a chain their food must be tastier. Maybe they got a star for all sorts of reasons apart from taste and presentation, smooth service, value for money, speed, tech etc.
It's been a while since I've went there, but at least I now know they didn't change the queuing procedure. Also, weirdly it seems like it's more westernized now, based on my rather poor memories a few years back, it felt like a traditional ramen shop, but way just more popular. I'll definitely hit this place up when I'm back there next month.
Do they charge such low prices in order to share their food with as many people as possible without looking at the financial gain or would this have been a fair price for their level of food in Tokyo?
I went to Japan a couple years ago back when the exchange rate was more like $1=100 yen and these prices would be pretty normal for a fast-casual-ish type of place. Very interesting that they’re keeping prices like this with a Michelin star. Out of curiosity, I started looking on Google for current menus of places I’ve been to and it’s like inflation barely affected them over there, at least going from memory of what I think I paid like 5 years ago. Plus 1 USD is currently roughly 140 yen which makes the food look even more crazy cheap. I don’t know how they do it.
Both maybe. That price is like still within average ramen price in japan, usually like 800-1500 yen on good ramen restaurant, even without michelin. But after they got their michelin, they prob wanna keep the price same for all their current customers, while remain to be competitive in price. Other michelin star ramen resturants also keep their price around 1000+ yen.
I don't get it, you can double the price and pay your workers better and it's still a bargain for the customer and there will still be a line. Glutton for punishment across the board.
