In other words, this is an excellent case. Well built. Supports USB 3.2 at front x 2, which has been problematic finding in other white cases of this price range ($69 USD on NewEgg). Great cable management. Plenty of space for any GPU. The nitpicks are unreal. "It hasn't been marketed so they have no confidence in it" uh ok. Can't easily mount GPU vertically. Oh shoot. It can hold full ATX but micro ATX users wont like seeing the extra space? What?!
Thanks for the video. I didn’t think the front panel came off, and I was a little worried about breaking it, but your demonstration was clear and concise. Now I can install my AIO worry free. As long as I don’t pierce the radiator. 🤞
I see the 3000d as a 4000d lite, because it uses the same core chassis, just with the vertical gpu mount removed (nobody really used it in the 4000d unless it’s a custom loop) the cable bar removed and that little trim piece on the psu shroud and the usb c is swapped for a second usb 3 port and a different front panel
This is pretty weird, just before I watched this vod I had put all of those components, same specs into my shopping basket, but was unsure about the case so stalled, then this vod popped up in my youtube feed. Awesome vod, perfect timing :) Sheer coincidence but might be the most perfectly timed vod ever.
I love that you replace the stock fans with your own for testing, as that's what most of us will be using.. and it sets you apart from the other reviewers who test thermals on stock. Your delivery is excellent, great review and nice looking build! Keen to go through your videos and hopefully find some reviews on the 5000D airflow and the Fractal Meshify 2 😊
I got this case to build an older motherboard transplant system for my son. The USB ports on the front io was a main concern. It looks great from a design perspective. I just wish it had a nice motherboard cable cover. All the holes and huge slot leaves something to be desired.
Agreed, Corsair dropped the ball on not releasing an mATX case this generation. Their current cheapest case I see (in Australia) is outdated looking, and far behind competitors in the same budget. For mATX under 100 bucks, I'd go with Kolink Citadel Mesh. Got 2 of these for builds last year and they are totally adequate for what they cost (85 AUD), spending more for Corsair cases under 200 AUD doesn't make sense to me.
I agree this hsould have been MAtx. When I first discovered the case had been released, I honestly thought MAtx at first, just due to the naming scheme. 4000D - ATX/2000D-ITX .... I was disappointed when it saw that it was an ATX.
I have built in the 5000D and 4000D and am happy with both. I am puzzled by the decision to eliminate the SSD sleds, but include a 3.5" hard drive cage. Is anyone using hard drives anymore. Would have made more sense to eliminate the hard drive cage and include the sleds.
If you use the Cooler Master vertical GPU mount, you might be able to install the GPU vertical as you can slide the GPU to the front, fish the Hdmi or DP cable through the slots and connect them to the GPU then slide the GPU back in place until the display connector is snug in between the Pci-e cover slot and the GPU i/o.
At first glance, this case looked like a 4000D. Didn't realize it was a 4000D with many things cut down including no usb C, an inferior front panel and dust filter implementation, no cable management bar or grommets, yet they charge as much as the 4000D.
Really nice review with great production - But it seems to ignore the fact that this is supposed to be cheaper than the 4000D and therefore compromises need to be made. The lack of marketing is an easy one - They dont want to eat into sales of the 4000D, but this covers the bases for people building budget systems where the 4000D is losing out to cheaper cases like budget options, or Lian Li 215/216 ""The Algo ****ing hates us" - YT actively pushes videos with swearing down the Algo :( Its why all the modern gear channels no longer swear...
quick question ! so im about to build a pc for the first time, bought the "corsair icue h150i liquid cooler" and i saw you used them as your intake ? im just asking.... is that actually safer to do ??? what are some cons and pros..... i bought the same case and it came with the 3 rgb 120mm fans as well... i could use that as my exhaust right ?
Out of everything the Case last the longest so $80 isn’t a real problem. I’ve build hundreds of PC’s and using a cheap case can give a lot of problems. But sure try and save $30-$50 is going to bite you in the end.
@@Typhon888the thing is that the case just costs more because of the brand. Doesn't even have modern features such as removable top cover, basic fans etc
in canada the black non rgb is $95 white is $100 . while the 4000d was just on sale for the black at $107 and white at $120 . not quite of a price difference for what it's missing ... it really should have been a matx ..and sold for like $80 seems like there's few good options for matx at least where I am in the world .

This case is priced high for what it is in comparison to what other brands offer. About the algorithm, instagram has been close to dead for me. Over 15x drop out of the blue, and it's been like that for most of this year.
I'm hoping these new recent cases from Corsair will be a preview to larger cases of this style. The 5000 and 7000 models are a bit dated and boring already lol.
IMO the 2000d and 300d are way off the mark for my taste. The 4000d is a great compact mid tower and the standard they set. As an ITX person the 2000d was just way too big compared to cases like the Meshroom S and H1. The 3000d could have been a nice mATX xase so was surprised they went full ATX. Could have gone mATX at around £60 and would have been of interest. I dont know why go full size when the 4000 and 5000 are such great cases. A totally pointless release IMO at the price point.
3000D just doesnt make much sense, $5 more you can get the 4000D which is arguably better looking and is better in general. 3000D should be $60-70 not $85 and it would make a heck of alot more sense.
Anyone think its cool to mount a 200mm fan on the roof because theres really no other place to mount it? I find low pressure works for this case but seriously, just get a 4000 if you can. For me that 200mm is the only Available fan to install. edit: no answers hmmmm. guess youll never know what I just did. "scratches chin with the same extendo backscratcher in red". Nice looking case. Always love the design language of corsair case. Boxy and minimalist
Thanks for the good comparison to the 4000d, I wasn't sure which one would suit me better but now I know 4000d is better.

1) 160mm cpu fan clearance
2) 1000 watt psu
4) fits a gigabyte 4090
3) option for 140mm or bigger fans in front

2.5" sleds cant hold 3.5" drives
3.5" hotswap bays can hold 2.5" drives.
Spec 05, Spec 06, 4000D and now 3000D. When will Corsair learn to allow a 360mm radiator on top.

the name is kinda weird, 2000d is sff case, 4000d is full atx case, so 3000d should be matx case?
