I picked up a couple agastache (though I don't think they are actually native here in SC) at a local native plant sale this spring and they have gone nuts! The thing is, it's a really pretty plant. And the bee action is incredible. I might also go for that yellow one that Jim has which he said is quite hardy for a cultivar. This series of videos has been a hoot. Thank you for taking the time to do them.
These videos have helped me figure out where in your yard things are but a video finale of drone footage if possible would tie it all together for us. I am thoroughly enjoying this series, I know it’s a lot of work to add the text overlay but soooo appreciated for note taking of the plants I want to source. Even though I’m in southern Ontario Canada the zone works for some specimens. 🇨🇦 😊
What a delight to get that dogwood when you bought the house. I have searched and searched for this tree/shrub but have been unable to find in stock. Absolutely love the dogwood!
@@alanerpington5698its very impressive. I have a native dogwood in my backyard. It's pretty when it blooms in the spring, but it only lasts for a couple weeks then it's just a normal boring tree 🙁 I wish i had one of those Empress of China varieties!
Loved this video. I have never seen a Solomon seal with such colouring. Not sure if I will be able to get it in the UK. However, have found the Curly fries hosta, so pleased about that 😊.
That Ardisia looks like Red Hot Embers, which is a 2’ tall shrub in my area, but it will probably be killed to the ground in 7b and stay much smaller for you. I tried to grow it for years in shade, since the literature said they need shade. They sulked. I put them in full sun this year and they’re thriving. As you always say: plants don’t read their own labels. Also, for people with pets: my cats love to eat these. Take care if you’re growing them as house plants.
I know! What's really crazy is that the garden is completely different now after 3 weeks. It looks so much better. Wishing I would have waited to film these
close out the series with a recent overview kind of video 😊 it would be cool if you flew your drone around the yard at low height (2nd story pov , 12-15ft)
You sure pack a lot in your small lot.interesting that you have started saving zone 7b and now 8a. I am in Greenville SC and some say the same for the zones.
That Solomon's Seal is beautiful! I'm wondering if that is as tall as it grows, and does it spread as quickly as other variegated varieties? I couldn't find that info elsewhere.
Dislike Japanese anenomes as they can really take over and are impossible to get rid of. Love echinacea and bergamot....so colourful. Id love to get a clematis. Your garden sure has a variety. Any watering rules by your council to save water? Looking great, full of colour and texture. Jo.😊
Hi Jim and Stephany - how do ground covers work with hardwood mulch? Is it better to grow them just in soil so that they can root more easily as they spread?
Gosh! Your gardens look so lush! I assume this was shot after your recent two weeks out of town (?), after all the rains. Oops! I didn’t watch far enough, when you mentioned mid-June! 😊
🎉props to whomever designed your Hort Tube w Jim Putnam LOGO.
🌿🪴🌿STINKING HELLEBORES🌿🪴🌿SO STINKING CUTE‼️🌿🪴🌿
Thanks Jim and Stephany.🌸💚🙃
Love every segment! 🌿
Hi Jim! Your garden has definitely filled in & transformed into a paradise. Great job!

I have also, unsuccessfully, searched for the dogwood.
Love, love, love all the parts of your Garden Tour! What a wealth of knowledge! Thank you!
Love that Pineapple Lilly. I gotta get me one 😃 Great garden tour Jim and Steph 🌳🌳🌳🐕
Rainbows end is at the top of my hosta love list too
The White Coneflower against the Bee Balm make a great combination, they are thriving in that spot.
LOOK at that Dogwood!! It's amazing how long it stays in bloom. Definitely need one
And that Empress of China variety is evergreen, even!

I'm in the UK. I totally loved every minute of this video. Taken notes. Thankyou so much. 😃

Gorgeous! I've gotta get one of those Empress of China Dogwoods.
I have hellebore plant envy.
Excellent!! Thank you! 🌱💚👌🏽

Beautiful love this, thank you for sharing 😊
I continue to enjoy your series showing everything you have in your garden!! I'll be sad when I've seen the last one!
I really like the curly Hosta looks beautiful! Great front garden.
I love how your native perennials do better in unimproved soil! I can add more without doing bed prep.
almost there … 1 more to go !

What do you think about yellowing leaves on hydrangea?

I'm in zone 5B and I planted some of the creeper. You think it will survive my winter?
What is the wheat or straw limbs sticking out around the beginning of the video?

I have the same question.
I'm gonna guess that the helebore will take over that bed..I got rid of every helebore because they took over..too many seedlings.
🙋
👍🙏❤️😊

Funny. Liatris are the ONLY things my deer and rabbit don’t eat.
Same here
